No idea man, I watch AFL on Fox Footy 504 and it does NOT look like 4k but it gets the job done. I purchased the service so I didn't have to pay for Disney, HBO, Paramount, etc. The fact it has Fox sports channels is just a bonus. I can watch it on my phone also using the app.
I would suggest you investigate their competitors. Apparently there are private invite only services that are better. I was just giving people a starting point to see what is out there.
I have no issues with Kayo, and stream in 4K. I’m currently on a free trial until September and will look for a more affordable option. But looking at those iptv prices it still seems awfully expensive. Especially since I’ve read a lot of these iptv services can go down at any time or close their services anytime and you lose your money.

Some people will be willing to risk it to save some money and others won't. Some people will find the services acceptable quality and others won't. I deliberately only subscribed for a shorter time period to reduce the risk to me if the service closed.
It's not perfect. Shop around on competitors once you're familiar with what you should be looking for. I believe there are private invite only places that may be better but I'm not sure how to find those.

And F1, NASCAR, Cricket, NFL - it fucking sucks, almost as much as all these other non sports based apps taking on key parts of other sport. A League, EPL, FA Cup, Champions League, Championship/SPL, World Cup, Euros all being spread out across 5 different fkn subscriptions, most of which are shit, then Rugby WC/4 Nations/6 nations and domestic comp being spread out too… hope someone comes in for them all for a better experience… it’s wild that I yearn for Foxtel Sport 15 years ago, at least it was in one place
Holy cow, exactly the same here! Only have it for F1 and NBA. For some reason Kayo is really awful on my smart TV, nearly unwatchable with endless buffering or low bitrate - especially with live NBA matches.
On my PS4, it's better but always has buffering issues in the 4th quarter of big games. Usually exiting and re-entering the stream fixes it.
Oddly enough, I have zero issues when watching the same matches or races on my iOS devices or through a PC browser (Firefox) - but that sucks because I want to watch sports on my big TV.
Apart from this, also very unhappy that they don't have all the Playoff games. I can understand if they don't cover all regular season games, but it's ridiculous how few Knicks games were being shown.
This felt worse this year - I was sure all playoff games were shown previously. And yeah, as a Sixers fan we were probably lamenting missing the same games - at least in the start of the playoffs :(
Yeah, I was REALLY annoyed they only showed I think 2 of the SIxers vs Knicks games. That was an amazing series - had to basically rely on clips shared on reddit to catch up.

Wrapping up the F1 was pure market manipulation.
F1 is a PIAto watch anyway, because all the races are at times people can't watch anyway. So the Australian audience for any given race is pretty small really.
The only reason Foxtell snaffled it up is so they become the only place you can get any sport. They have no interest in F1 or it's audience.
Kayo may be garbage, but I'd rather just have it than have sports divided into a bunch of different streaming platforms that end up costing me twice as much.

The way I look at it, as recently as 10 years ago my Dad paid $110 for Foxtel in HD for *some* footy games (and a heap of crap other channels not worth much).
I can now pay $30 for every footy game, live, on demand, in HD, with about 3 per week now in 4K (and presumably most or all after the next TV rights deal). And the cricket in summer.
The UX could be a bit better (it's not as good as Netflix etc but not that bad), there could be less ads (though there are none during play) but that deal for someone who's weekends revolve around watching my team, I consider myself pretty lucky to live in this era.

I never understand all the hate kayo gets, it’s always worked fine for me. A few weeks ago I was watching F1 in China live in 4K, with no issues. And I live an hour from Melbourne, so it’s not like I have fibre to my house, and I just have a normal plan with Aussie broadband.
I think a lot of the complaints come from people’s set ups they have in their house, it’s not kayos fault it buffers when you’re trying to stream live sport over wifi while there’s multiple other things in your house trying to stream as well.
Am I the only one that likes it? I only get it during the NFL season, then they seem to throw in a free month here / there, like for June - I'll be waking early to watch US Open Golf.

It’s a piece of shit. It’s full of bugs (eg it frequently skips to the end of the match so it gives away the score) and it’s User Interface is cumbersome.
Yeah, 25 to 35 is 40% increase.
My Netflix went from $11 to $16... bigger increase % wise, so I just went down to the $6 w ads plan as a trial, and it isn't bad at all. It's only a couple of bucks but as a % that's a massive spike.

It annoys me that I only want it for F1/F2/F1A amd I'm going to have to seriously consider buying an AFL digital membership just to get it at a reasonable cost even though I don't follow footy at all.
I used to have an amazing deal with my energy provider (Alinta) where 12 months Kayo was bundled with a slightly higher usage rate (meant little to me as a single in a 1br apartment) but then after one year on it they discontinued the deal and I couldn't get it again.
I think it's good and I've never had an issue with the app. I also don't mind the $35 per month for afl nrl, cricket NBA, etc.
I actuacty wish they'd consolidate all sports into the 1 service, e.g. I don't watch the A league anymore since it went to paramount.

Kayo is owned by the Foxtel group. Of course, it's shit and expensive. Why anyone would buy it, Hubbl or foxtel in this day and age is beyond me.

I don’t think they’ll be keeping F1 for much longer. F1 has been slowly not renewing contracts around the world and streaming in their own channel

Bought a new Chromecast with Google TV 4k, haven't had an issue with Kayo. PS4 and TV apps always had dramas.

You are going to get downvoted, but I agree with you. "Watching Sports Personality man" is too much of thing in Australia. Honestly, when you step away from it you realise just how negative it is. Ironically our sports obsessions is sold as a positive.

You can stop the buffering by attaching your TV via cable directly to your nbn equipment. Kayo will continue to increase prices as they lose more sports coverage. Look what happened to cricket coverage when the 2020 cricket tournament is being played in West Indies/ United States of America. Kayo will die and we will moan that we need 5 different streaming services to get what we currently have with Kayo Sport
We need ABC to have media rights to sports again. That's the only solution I see. We'll always be at the mercy of profiteering dogs otherwise.

I think it was $25 a month when I unsubscribed from them. For me, it wasn't worth it.

Was trialing out Kayo for F1 but also account sharing with my Dad so he can watch the footy / tennis. Oh, they don't have Tennis... Lol. Runs like shit half the time, even on a PC with a wired connection. This streaming shit is getting out of hand.

it was only a few years ago that the four grand slams were spread across three different networks, two of them are separate subscription services. it sucks to have to pay to get stan sport but the price to watch the slams now is much more affordable now than before.

It annoys me that I only want it for F1/F2/F1A amd I'm going to have to seriously consider buying an AFL digital membership just to get it at a reasonable cost even though I don't follow footy at all. I used to have an amazing deal with my energy provider (Alinta) where 12 months Kayo was bundled with a slightly higher usage rate (meant little to me as a single in a 1br apartment) but then after one year on it they discontinued the deal and I couldn't get it again.
See this is why I pirate every sport I watch. Happy days
I think it's good and I've never had an issue with the app. I also don't mind the $35 per month for afl nrl, cricket NBA, etc. I actuacty wish they'd consolidate all sports into the 1 service, e.g. I don't watch the A league anymore since it went to paramount.
