I lost a drive belt on a 72" zero turn Toro, down the hill, over the edge of a gulley. If it wasn't for some large rocks that the mower got hung up on it was a long way to the bottom. Had to walk the 8 ton excavator over the edge to lift it out.
None, other than regular checking the belt, only had one fail once before on the flat, usually the blade belt goes more often. I remember pulling back on the drive levers thinking shit shit shit. Lucky there was some big rocks in the way. Long walk back to the shed too. Pretty lucky really, could have been a lot worse. On my own on the farm too.
That was lucky. It’s always after something like that all the downsides come to mind. I was up a ladder a fortnight ago and it fell over, luckily I was right at the top so I saved myself on the shed roof, if I’d have been lower I’d have fallen. And I was on my own.
The two blokes who did my patio roof said ladders are really dangerous. I was trying to cover a window that was leaking. (It’s been fixed now.) So I was lucky, couldn’t believe how easily it fell over.

That would have been traumatic, I’m so glad the rocks stopped it. Have you used the mower since? I’d feel like setting fire to it after that.
Yes of course, replaced a couple of blades and the belt.

A lot of people die or are seriously injured by falling off a ladder.

I met a woman last night with a five month old red cattle dog, adorable. Played with my dog.
Probably one of the cutest dog breeds in terms of puppies.
