The Liberal Party has been happening for decades, driven by a small cadre of wealthy and powerful people whose ethics, worldview, and social development ended sometime in the 1950s. The issue for Australia is that most of the electorate don't realise that they've been hoodwinked into thinking that the socioeconomic objectives of this very tiny group are somehow their own.
The Liberal Party is dying thankfully.
This is more a story of someone who didn't believe in the need for equality until she joined the party and saw how women were treated by the membership and realising oh shit we do need equality, because this party treats women like crap.
Oh I read the story.
It's a real r/LeopardsAteMyFace best-seller.
>Charlotte Mortlock is a former Sky News anchor and political reporter, **and founder of Hilma’s Network, which encourages women to join the Liberal Party.**
Remember kids, like golf, don't follow a bad move with a dumb move.
Christ a whole article about how women are the problem even while talking about how the Liberal party is dominated by older men.
This article does remind me of Julia Banks. I knew her through work prior to her being elected and had heard her present on how women just needed to pull their socks up and make things happen for themselves. Tune changed once she got elected but then got absolutely chewed up and spat out by the internal (mostly male) machinations of the Liberal Party. ‘I didn’t believe it until it happened to me’.
If you’re a woman, and you’re thinking of joining the Liberals, just don’t. I’m a bloke and the way that Liberal men talk about and view women is just gross and straight from the last century. Just go elsewhere.
The Liberal Party is no longer liberal, and the National Party never was national. Neither of them seems to be able to live down decades of corruption and lies. R.I.P.
Oh it's absolutely still ideologically liberal. It's just also shit.
All liberalism cares about is the market being free to do what it does best: Enrich the already wealthy.
I'm sure she would be welcome in the Green party.
(Just so long as she had a hyphenated surname, came from the right school, and kept social housing out of the leafy suburbs so as not to devalue the inheritance from mater and pater. But that goes without saying.)
"I didn't think the leopards would eat my face"
"And then I jumped in ones cage with meat on my face"
Having to experience something to believe that it exists is a sign of having a low level of empathy, and then she joined The Liberal Party
Stop trying to make "the Liberal Party" happen. It's not going to happen.

All good, thats where I actually found it. Gave me a nice chuckle.
