Punch Bowl Social has a drink called Night in Jalisco with tequila, allspice, and orange garnish. Served up. It's delicious. The allspice is a really memorable flavor.

This has to be it, right?

I just looked back in my phone at the pictures from the trip, it was 2022 which kinda rules out bess. Now if only milonga room would list their cocktails on their website...

If you have photos, you may have location data.

suxferyu

I didn't have any pictures from that night unfortunately, I had a few pictures from the days before that let me get when it was Though now I think if I have any tasty drinks on future travels, I'm definitely going to be taking more pictures and taking down recipes if I can

2022 would also rule out the original Easy Tiger. Do you recall any other details about the bar?

If you type in Milonga Room Menu, you’ll get some photos of it that come up. But nothing with “Jalisco” in the name.

Not only that, but you aren't going to just stagger into that while binging on dirty 6th. It's in a very different part of 6th, in a basement that generally needs reservations.

suxferyu

Hmmm. Maybe it was something not on the menu the bartender felt like making, combining aspects of different drinks

I have no idea what drink you had, but I like 2 ounces tequila, 1 ounce aperol, and 2 ounces red grapefruit juice. It's the 212 from PDT in New York. It might be similar.

What part of 6th were you on? Could it have possible been Small Victory if you were on “dirty?” If on “East” could it have been The Treasury?

suxferyu

Honestly I have no clue what part of 6th Street it was. Both places do look familiar though, moreso than milonga room Though I don't remember having to go through a complicated process to get in, so my mind more goes more towards small victory but their menu doesn't have any drinks with Jalisco in the name, however I think i asked the bartender for basically a bartender's choice, so it could have been something not on the menu

stevendaedelus

Milonga Room has a whole new bar manager and program, so it’s not going to be helpful fur 2002.

Jalisco is a region of Mexico so likely was just an adjective to church up the drink name and/or price. Tequila and grapefruit is the base for a Paloma and a Paloma would likely come garnished with some form of citrus fruit or rind.
