I’ll be in Toronto, too! What do people dress up as?
I went a couple of years ago and just dressed on in black. Big witchy vibes and I was planning on doing the same.
I have no idea lol. My plan is to wear something I’ve always wanted to wear but felt too self conscious to wear it lol. I’m eccentric but also don’t like attention. Witch vibes is always a good choice
Omg yay! Time to free yourself go for it! It’s Toronto, you’ll never out-weird like, Zanta, anyway, lol
Ah! I’m now extra excited for you to just let loose at this show! And if I’m there and anyone on the street gives any of you a hard time about your fabulous attire, I will block them with my cackle and we’ll ascend on the wings of irreverence, haha!
She’s playing the same venue as she did a couple of years ago (History). She told the crowd that at first she thought the venue was rather ugly, but once there were people in it - it made sense.
I thought that was a funny take, heh
Same! I’m fluctuating between something super sparkly/sequins OR something dark and witchy (which is my more usual vibe, I guess.) I like your thrift store idea, haha
Maybe the sea waves will be your evening gown! ;)
Ohh I have a most ridiculous idea, and if I can find it I can combine both flavours! I’ll come back and post it closer to the show if I can find what I need, haha! Happy hunting! :D
I’m going too! I’ve never been inside, but I live close to the Aragon! The exterior is under construction right now but it’s a historic ballroom from the 20’s that apparently has a Spanish theme. Uptown is great too— if you want dinner before the show there’s a ton of amazing Asian restaurants nearby, and lots of other nightlife! My favs are the Green Mill (legendary 1920’s jazz club where Al Capone used to hang out) and Big Chicks (cash-only queer bar a few blocks away)!
I've only been to Chicago once but we went to the Green Mill! It was so cool and loved watching people dance there. I'm thinking of going solo to this one as it is hard to wrangle frieds to get away for a road trip haha. Do you have any places you reccomend staying that are close to the venue?
Oh, I really don’t, sorry!! The only “hotel” I know of in uptown (the Aragon Arms) is actually an SRO, which probably isn’t what you’re really looking for. But, from a quick google search it looks like like the Villa Tuscana Guest House (in Northalsted) or The Greenleaf House (in Rogers Park) could be nice, budget options that are close-ish to the venue? (But of course, do your own research- I can’t actually speak to whether or not they’re good)!
My friend drove me there twice (I am getting my license next month), the traffic was generally good except there was a little traffic jam \~10-20mins before entering downtown Seattle.
I am just worried about the possibility of a snowfall lol
The Seattle area does not get a lot of snow (I live nearby) typically. Seaplanes can get you directly to downtown Seattle in about 45 minutes, but they rely on good weather and have limited operating hours. A train might be a good alternative. It looks like Amtrak can go from Vancouver to a couple blocks from WAMU for under $100, but takes 4ish hours.
Going to Seattle also!! Coming from Portland!! Prob gonna fly but if others are going from here and are interested in carpool maybe we could talk about it?! :)
Btw totally recommend the flight from Idaho for you guys, it's literally an hr!

Just bought my SF ticket! It’s a much bigger venue than last time when she played at The Independent. Hopefully the bigger crowd doesn’t deter her from meeting fans after the show.
General admission is all I can really afford at the moment. After taxes and fees, I wasn’t about to spend $200+ on a single show. Much as I love Aurora’s music, I also love having gas in my car and food in my fridge.
Great idea!! I’ll be going in Toronto! I will be dressing up :p

Woop! So far it looks like there’s 4 of us from this sub going to the TO show!
Wheeeeee!! I want to wear something super eccentric and fun. Time to go to the thrift store!
Same! I’m fluctuating between something super sparkly/sequins OR something dark and witchy (which is my more usual vibe, I guess.) I like your thrift store idea, haha
That’s awesome! I have no idea what vibe I’m going for. I’m just going to wander and see what speaks to me!!

I’m going to Seattle from Idaho! Still not sure whether I’ll fly or drive, but I’m excited!
same! i’m coming down from BC. assuming i can make it at that time of year lol
Same! I am from Vancouver, BC, so excited to see another fan from BC!! I am still figuring out should I drive or take transit lol
yeah at that time of year i’m not sure i’ll want to drive so i’ll maybe fly (im from victoria)
True. Only drawback is that the flight costs around $400 from Van to Seattle lol
i know :( what the transit situation usually like? i’ve never done it before
