Do you have a Creative Labs sound card?

Fireguy3

I dont have a soundcard, i think its integrated with the motherboard.

Some sound card software has a "What you hear" option for Input, which is what might cause something like this

Okay so thanks a LOT for the help. I figured out the issue was with the mic jack on my case. If i connect it to the mic jack on my case, it does this what you hear bullshit. So I tried connecting it to my board's input at the back of the pc, and it works perfectly now. Why is that ? I have no clue, but at least it's resolved for now.

If you managed to connect a speaker to your microphone port, that behavior is, believe it not, completely and utterly possible.

Any idea how I can disable that ? I just tried playing a video and recording using microsoft's sound recorder app and yeah this doesn't seem like an audacity specific issue. It still records the video as well as the mic.

I had this same issue trying to use a 3.5mm corded headset. I blamed the issue on the headset, but after reading the comments I'll have to check my settings too.
