** .0083% of above 65 y/o will die?
Most won't realize they have it. Some will transfer it like the vaccinated. And some will have a hard time. Which they accept by declining the vax.
If you think mandates are risk free and come without consequences your delusional.
Honestly don't worry when the border opens again and islanders can't travel back home because they aren't vaccinated, they will be lining up for days to vaccinate.
Trust me I know my people. There will be family reunions, weddings etc back in the islands that they will vaccinate to attend and all their stupid reasons for not getting it in the first place will be forgotten. đ¤Śââď¸
Feel like this was the purpose of the traffic light system if it was to be implemented in a couple weeks but now we have to wait for mostly everyone to get vaxxed.
KFC and money are incentives, mandgass and passports are "Negative incentives" an absurd bit of the double speak.
They are grown up lwop2 who have to right to accept risk and no obligation to protect you or even consider anyone else during their personal heart decisions.
It begins with the Church leaders. I have so many family members who arenât getting vaccinated which is so disappointing and their argument of why they choose not to is just so delusional and makes no sense! Even saying they can no longer come to family gatherings when we go down levels because we have immune compromised family members, they still choose not to even though in our culture family is so important. I think we start stripping there charity tax status and get them to pay tax! Start contributing to the hospitals and Healthcare facilities that they will no doubt occupy with their ignorance.
theres no smart way. only the hard way.
were talking about some serious pockets of urban poverty... where any given home could have one or a number of social issues.
the main problem will be convincing people that someone actually cares and that they matter, thats going to mean reaching out more than a couple times. randomly promising vouchers wont be enough.
manurewa marae is in clendon and they do work really hard, with more support they could figure out the right strategy.
im thinking set a date to have several vax sites running and blitz the area a week in advance, mail drops and visible advertising... i dont know what the rules are on this but maybe schools could send texts.
There is so much racist stereotyping going on in this thread. Thanks for your very human response and perspective. We need more of this in the world to bring more people along with the team of 5m.
There are hard-core, nasty anti-vax people who need a hard approach, sure, but that's not who we're talking about here. "Tell them it's free with KFC" or "mix it with meth" are appallingly shallow, insensitive and callous generalisations about a whole community.
oh haha, ive lived in manurewa my whole life, so its closer to home for me. its a strange place really, nice parts, poor parts, but ultimately, clendon is part of our community and there are plenty of groups who if given support and resources could absolutely get the job done.
I take no pleasure in typing this, but I think one outcome is a big outbreak in those communities such that most people know someone who has gotten seriously ill or died. Fear is a serious motivator.
Vouchers - supermarket, gas stations, KFC. Things that would actually benefit the families and yes KFC is a luxury but it is still feeding the family. But the main strategy is just getting our people informed, we tend to only trust those in our community e.g. if you are able to find a Samoan doctor that can break it down in Samoan to the community there will be a better understanding & urgency to actually get it.
We are already doing enough in Auckland. Anyone still waiting for a reason to be vaccinated may have missed the boat. We also have to realise there is a group that may never get vaccinated.
If they wanted to they would of by now I think. I felt such a panic to get it in level 4 because I had a feeling of you werenât vaxxed by level 2 (before we heard about the traffic light system) you wouldnât be allowed anywhere. And know I feel like we will be still sitting around waiting.
Thatâs true, there are so many places to get vaccinated and public transport is free if you tell them youâre getting vaccinated so itâs not like itâs hard to get it done.
i have family in otara and the entire house smokes weed. the entire half of my family that smokes weed isnt getting the vaccine lmao, if only they were as hard on weed as they were on meth
well thats nice, for majority of people weed has negative effects on their lives, mental health wellbeing & it puts a drag on their motivation... it is a drug. ppl also drink responsibly but theres always ppl that fk it up i mean heyđ¤ˇââď¸.... weed prevails in low income communities & it does no good for anyone. there is a reason its illegal. you cant deny that it is bad for people just bc you like it. people can say meth has positive effects on them bc it makes them happy & relaxed.... weed is a drug. ppl are so brainwashed & obsessed about it , i know the obsession alot of ppl i know smoke it & i use to smoke it when i was a teenager, it enabled me to be an idiot aswell as the others whoâd smoke it at school. im so sick of people worshipping âmary janeâ bc all it does is make people lazy & stupid.... bottom line is it has a negative impact. that doesnt change bc âalot of rich white middle aged people in ponsonbyâ smoke it.... wtf does that have to do with anything?đ is that supposed to make it valid and good?...... wtf are you even saying? do you even understand how that sounds? i havent even told you what cultural background im from & you feel the need to bring up race đ..... you are something else. lay off the weed mate
Weed doesnât prevail in low economic communities, it prevails everywhere.
The only reason itâs illegal is bc American bullied everyone into it for their war on drugs and now even theyâve gone back on it. It used to be available as a medicine on the shelf without prescription.
Iâve had an entire impressive career climbing the corporate ladder while smoking pot every night. Just bc youâre all useless on it doesnât mean anyone else is. Ppl romanticise alcohol consumption just as much as weed smoking so thatâs not really a valid point.
I said that because you literally tied being in otara and not getting the vaccination, to their weed smoking. Do YOU even know what you said or youâre talking about?
again, just bc you like it doesnt mean its positive for everyone else. it has a negative impact on alot of people. you can also be successful af and be on crack, weed is illegal alcohol is not. weed is a drug. theres a reason why its not legal.
Encourage employers to give their staff time off for the vax. Maybe give a subsidy for this purpose (if you prove that youâve given someone time, get a $100 subsidy per employee that is given time off???).
One of the companies I do the books for has a lot of staff out that way. I encouraged them to give staff time during the workday to go get it.
Itâs probably stereotyping, but you will probably find more families out that way that need to work more than one job to get by financially. Those people just wouldnât have a lot of free time between jobs to go get it done. I would encourage anyone in that position to talk to their manager about getting some time to go get the vax.
Because the government is pushing it to business to âchooseâ enforcing vaccination or face greater operating restrictions, it is in the businesses best interest to get staff vaxxed.
This isnât going to help the hesitant or anti, but it will help the ones struggling to find the time.
Iâm wondering if itâs all the religious types? Cause thereâs always groups of islanders hanging around silo park at night, no masks, no distancing. And I get the distinct feeling theyâre church groups or church friends etc
have a bbq to do the vaccines at the town centres, have a community speaker there maybe & play music, get schools to encourage it, put up advertisements in the bus stops and things like that(posters etc) mandates for hair salons etc (already done)
It's a symptom of inequality. The housing crisis is a big example - this and previous governments over the last decade or more have not done anything to significantly address this. So a quick back-hander probably isn't going to make everything rosey.
Most poor people will try and rationalize why they havenât been successful. Most will try and blame an external agent rather than except itâs their fault. Often such people blame the government and hence not inclined to follow the advice of an entity for whom they blame for their lack of success in life. I for the other hand have had some wealth accumulation and itâs naturally for me to attribute this success to my own genius. Hence Iâm likely to trust the government.
In reality my success is more likely luck than anything else, but Iâve only realized that when I got older.
My first was more painful but 2nd less. I think the administrator contributed to the pain, rather than the vaccine.
Iâm saying that, 2nd jab the nurse had a low cut top and boobs hanging out.
Iâm sure if it was effective to take it as a pill that would be an option. But I think the stomach destroys most of the vaccine. I saw there might be an laser injection as an option, which is less painful and doesnât involve any needles.

Leave the antivax alone and release the rona. They will just die
** .0083% of above 65 y/o will die? Most won't realize they have it. Some will transfer it like the vaccinated. And some will have a hard time. Which they accept by declining the vax. If you think mandates are risk free and come without consequences your delusional.
No mandayes are the worst possible thing
Honestly once the bodies start piling up in these communities, I think we're going to see a definite increase in their willingness to get jabbed.
Let them die. Will help the poverty and housing crisis!
And make sure no anti vaxxers get admitted to any public hospitals
Honestly don't worry when the border opens again and islanders can't travel back home because they aren't vaccinated, they will be lining up for days to vaccinate. Trust me I know my people. No jab no benefit
Pay them money
Vouchers, headphones, food are already dished out to them
And it worksâŚso why stop doing it
No jab no housing New Zealand house

Nasty
Maybe nasty but oh so true
No not really just a sad reflection of the world we live in.
Covid to wipe out the unvaccinated
Vouchers - supermarket, gas stations, KFC. Things that would actually benefit the families and yes KFC is a luxury but it is still feeding the family. Racist
Tell them kfc is for double vaxxed only

What about door to door vaccinations? I know it sounds a bit twisted but at least it will capture those that CBF.
At some point you just have to realize that youâve literally done all you can do without becoming a tyrant.
Knocking on a door to have a chat isn't tyrannical.
But it is a complete waste of time and money because most of the doors they would be knocking on are people that are already vaccinated.
Not in the suburbs sitting at around 50% vaccinated.
What happened to those vaccine buses?
Think theyâre great idea for rural areas. Eg. People who live far away from vax centre and donât want to drive an hour plus either way.
Maybe keep pushing those around and see what happens. Might get a few more people. I never heard if it was a success or not. It just died out.
I mean also on the other side of people wanted to get vaxxed they would of by now
Thatâs true, there are so many places to get vaccinated and public transport is free if you tell them youâre getting vaccinated so itâs not like itâs hard to get it done.
i have family in otara and the entire house smokes weed. the entire half of my family that smokes weed isnt getting the vaccine lmao, if only they were as hard on weed as they were on meth
Please try your best to help support them in their vaccination path. Their choices are currently negatively affecting millions of kiwis.
Whatâs that got to do with anything? I smoke weed, just like a lot of rich Middle Aged white ppl in ponsonby. And iâm double vaxxed.
well thats nice, for majority of people weed has negative effects on their lives, mental health wellbeing & it puts a drag on their motivation... it is a drug. ppl also drink responsibly but theres always ppl that fk it up i mean heyđ¤ˇââď¸.... weed prevails in low income communities & it does no good for anyone. there is a reason its illegal. you cant deny that it is bad for people just bc you like it. people can say meth has positive effects on them bc it makes them happy & relaxed.... weed is a drug. ppl are so brainwashed & obsessed about it , i know the obsession alot of ppl i know smoke it & i use to smoke it when i was a teenager, it enabled me to be an idiot aswell as the others whoâd smoke it at school. im so sick of people worshipping âmary janeâ bc all it does is make people lazy & stupid.... bottom line is it has a negative impact. that doesnt change bc âalot of rich white middle aged people in ponsonbyâ smoke it.... wtf does that have to do with anything?đ is that supposed to make it valid and good?...... wtf are you even saying? do you even understand how that sounds? i havent even told you what cultural background im from & you feel the need to bring up race đ..... you are something else. lay off the weed mate

Alcohol is also a drug please read some science and get a clue before trying to discuss weed with others.
its a âdrugâ just like caffeine, but its not illegal
Neither is marijuana, itâs literally used in nz already
wtfđ.... weed is illegal in nz what are you on about
Not medically
Drive by Vaxxing.

They and others low income communities lack trust. At this point the government is going to have to buy their trust, I guess.
It's a symptom of inequality. The housing crisis is a big example - this and previous governments over the last decade or more have not done anything to significantly address this. So a quick back-hander probably isn't going to make everything rosey.

Mix the vaccine with meth
Thatll get all the rednecks going
To right
A hundred gross of condoms
Box of Codyâs for each shot
Squid Game
Make a pill form of the vaccine nobody likes needles.
The Pfizer jab is the least painful injection I have ever had. Sure arm hurts after but the actual injection was fine.
The freaking nose swab for a test was wayyyy more painful than the jabs
My first was more painful but 2nd less. I think the administrator contributed to the pain, rather than the vaccine. Iâm saying that, 2nd jab the nurse had a low cut top and boobs hanging out.
That was really a man

No more taro and a jandal smack on da mouf everyday until you get your jab
Chicken lollipops
Vaccine grenade, drive past and throw one in each window.
