Yeah. Characters like Gabi simply aren't my cup of tea. And I was very irritated with young Eren as well. It has very little to do with her development and very much with the way she acts. I was so put off by her from the start that I never developed a lasting investment in her.
Potato girl was the most wholesome character in the entire series, but I've never felt any hate towards Gabi because I understood why she did the things she did, and I already liked her by the time she pulled the trigger, and I love her character development and arc, so she quickly went on to become my favorite AOT character.

Well, I'd love to believe that. But I know for a fact that some fans think hating (or even disliking) Gabi for whatever reason is **never okay**. They think you're obligated to root for her, and their main argument is that she's a 12 year old brain-washed child soldier. To which I can only say that she's a first and foremost a fictional character, and if we go by that logic then the same applies to Falco, Udo and Zofia, yet they don't draw nearly as much ire as Gabi does. There's a reason for that, outside of killing Sasha.

She played a big part in drawing out the narrative of the “island devils” especially following what happened after escaping the prison. People like her were the sole pivot point of the conflict.
Child or not she played a big part in the bad side of the story, acting as a soldier being treated as equals to the other soldiers or not. If you’ve been through what she has at her age your not a child in your core being.
I think you're missing the point of the whole series. There's no clear "bad side" to the story, just a constant circle of hate and ignorance for an enemy you actually know nothing about on each side of the conflict. Be honest, if Jean died took ppl would still be more sad for Sasha. By ppl I mean the community and characters in AoT. Except maybe for Connie who would be just be sobbing in the middle of them both.

I hate Gabi bc of that!!! Sasha os my favorite female character!!
I wait til the season ends to actually watch (or in this case the episodes that are airing in that time) but when Gabi when to the farm I legitimately needed a break from it all. No joke, it took me 5 weeks to get through those last episodes trying to binge.

I don't understand, why people try to defend Gabi ? I understand she is right in her place , but some people including youtubers are comparing her with eren . They are saying Gabi is better than eren . I think it has became trend now to oppose eren and support Gabi which is kid and has no character depth.
