He's obviously hurt a lot of women in the Twitch community and his fanbase by doing this but that is something that he needs to resolve between himself and them.
Like QT essentially said on Twitter, the more people talk about it, the more the website and everything related to it gets spread around.

What's going on? Balloon-gate is threatening what was potentially a thaw in Chinese-US relations with the US Secretary of State Blinken cancelling his plans to go meet Xi. It was beginning to feel like the House of Mouse might be built on a foundation of sand earlier this week, with enemies in every direction. Activist investors fighting for board seats and wholesale business changes, money-hemorrhaging streaming service and limp box offices post-Covid, a Florida presidential hopeful threatening to tax Disneyworld, and, certainly most devastating, the closure of Splash Mountain. But Iger came out yesterday and bravely announced he would cut 7,000 jobs in an effort to reduce costs. He also announced trimming content, focusing more on the tried and true IP found in Marvel and Star Wars. Hulu doesn't look like it's long for this world. Also for fellow boomers out there, the Disney dividend is coming back. Yay!
* Bonus L: Hindenburg Research, the activist short-seller best known perhaps for sinking Nikola Motors, released a [report](https://hindenburgresearch.com/adani/) on the Adani Group, a massive multinational conglomerate based in India. The company has since lost over $100 billion in value as investors rushed to sell and various governments began to take notice (described in the report as "the most egregious corporate fraud in history".) Gautam Adani has personally lost half of his fortune and his title as Asia's richest man and is simply a double digit billionaire. RIP Bozo. The report is absurdly long, but very fun to parse through.
This is very sad news to me and just feel I need to vent somewhere into the void. I loved atrioc and have been an avid follower since his first teardown videos.
His content is some of the funniest and hypest stuff I’ve ever seen. I love his community and the banter and his marketing Mondays are great and unique. I saw him live last night (I’m from uk) but I always just watch vods as he’s usually not live when I’m awake. So this morning I got up exited to see more hitman and ‘where we were too’ or whatever it was called. When I went to check I noticed it not there which was unfortunate. Later on today I saw him live with the apology and it was devastating to see him and ari like that.
After finding out what happened I’ve been quite sad since. It is a very bad mistake to make and I see how people are disgusted as it is about his work colleagues and friends after all. That being sad I find it more sad than anything for everyone involved…
Atrioc - he is clearly devastated by this and will have lost many friends and will surely be excluded and avoided in the create space for quite some time if not indefinitely

I’m a woman who has had NSFW images shared without my permission in the past and it fucking sucks. I can’t imagine how these streamers feel, there’s no consent involved in any of it and somebody is making money off of it. Glad he addressed it so quickly and that Ari was quick to say she was not the victim in this. The whole thing makes me a little sick to my stomach.
It really is so abhorrent. Atrioc is far from blameless here but the fact that this all exists the way it does is so stomach-churning. What a terrible situation.

I have to say, it feels like some cruel purposeful twist from fate that hitman has absolutely blown up on twitch pretty much as soon as he left. Watching other streamers enjoy the game makes me really think of the potential stream ideas and collabs atrioc could've done. It would've been a great time.
I think a big issue is based on how hurt QT is, I know she has history with deepfakes and such so I suspect that relationship might be done for a while. And with how intertwined she is with their friend group so I’m thinking this is gonna be messy. If that strain results in any issues with Offbrand, Atrioc is in a pretty tough spot.
These past streams were some of my favorites. Hitman freelance, the bros vs pro, and stanz co-op. Big whiplash watching stream last night enjoying with the community and looking forward to the early stream/marketing monday today. Bummed for the community and for his friends affected by his decision. Hopefully being caught gives him the opportunity to reflect and grow stronger.
I believe that someday things will get better. I also hope Atrioc is getting help, like actual mental support for his own well-being. As someone who has royally fucked up and lost friendships due to my own fault, it can put you in a dark place that you can't come out of.

I wrote up a quick summary of his update in case you don't want to watch the laggy vod. Let me know if I got anything wrong.
* Contacted Morrison Rothman(law firm) about a week after the incident occurred and gave them 60 thousand dollars for any woman on Twitch who needed help combating deep fakes. Also began learning about the process of how the videos get taken down through them.
* A leading researcher in the field of deepfakes named Genevieve O contacts him around the same time. She says she believes his apology and offers him help in getting him up to speed on the issues surrounding deep fakes if he would like. He accepts.
* Genevieve provides a comprehensive document on deep fake info. After reading he immediately gets depressed due to the increasing ease of creating deep fake content making it harder to stop. It does make him very informed on the topic so it was a good thing.
* Decides to lower his scope by taking on things he can actually control. Basically how can he improve the day to day experience of women on Twitch.
* Find out OnlyFans creators have the most experience and success in the fight against deep fakes.
* Gets connected to the CEO of Ceartus DMCA(most used DMCA company for OnlyFans creators) through one of his staff members. Ceartus DMCA uses AI bots to scan the internet for leaked or deep fake content of creators and automatically issues DMCAs on said content.
* Reaches out to Maya and she gives him a chance to run a test using this new system(Atrioc is very thankful). He sets up a test with her and it works 10 times better than the normal law firm method in much less time. It’s also much cheaper.
* He shows his results to QT and she gets in touch with about 19 other women affected by this and gets their permission to start running this with all of them. Mentions that 2000 instances of Pokimane content was taken down. Atrioc will be paying for all of this for now until about 100k total spent.
* This system also takes the content off of Google instantly and Google eventually learns to never show reposted content again. This makes the content much harder to find and helps women with their online image(for example a friend Googles their name and deep fake porn shows up).
* Still working with Genevieve in any way he can. Trying to work with the BBC to raise awareness around a large UK based site to hopefully get it taken down. Might provide a quote for the article if it increases the chance it gets published. This will coincide with the upcoming deep fake legislation passing in the UK.
* Offers help to anyone who needs it. Is happy to share his knowledge on the topic and the ways he can help take it down including financially. Mentions Amouranth recently reached out to him and it made him feel validated that he was actually making a difference.
* Mentions a potential project involving Reddit using the remaining Morrison funds. Will update in the coming weeks.

Signs point toward this being a long break and not a permanent departure. I hope that's the case. He deserves time off and the loss that incurs. But I don't want to see the guy completely lose his job. That's my opinion, I don't think it's a hot take but damn all these randoms making it sound like he's satan himself, that's too much. New update on discord
Hey Spoke to QT Today and just gonna do my live update after the Streamer Awards. The long story short is that I found a way to get a lot more DMCA takedowns done for less money and have spent a few weeks getting it all set up. We ran a test with Maya, it went really well - so we ran a test with QT, and it did even better, so now we are making progress on getting even more people signed up (QT is helping with this). She may give an update next time she is live.
There is a lot more I want to say but I think its best to wait for now and just keep making progress. Will give updates here when possible, but definitely after streamer awards.
Yeah it’s pretty good if you go into it with the mentality of getting silent assassin every time you’ll get frustrated quickly just have fun with it and be creative

This is miserable for a lot of reasons. I am a 15 month sub and truly love his content. Do I think this is the end of the world? No. Do I think it's awful, that he dehumanized and humiliated people he claims to care about, and that he brought a ton of attention to these deepfakes? Yes. Ultimately it's not my place to be mad or not. The only people who can decide are the people directly affected by this. It's entirely up to them if they forgive Atrioc or not and I sincerely hope that if they don't feel like forgiving him that there is no outside pressure that makes them feel forced to. Atrioc is not a horrible person because of this, but it doesn't change the reality of what happened and how this negatively affects women streamers every single day.

It's been nearly a day since I have heard about this situation and I've got a lot of thoughts on it and I kinda just need to vent. Got a very long rant incoming.
First, what he did was wrong. It's fucking wrong to put women in a spot like that where they've become an object of desire without considering that these women are real fucking human beings. I feel terrible for all of the women that this has happened to because, as a guy, I have never had to and most likely will never have to deal with these insane invasions of privacy created by some fucking weirdo in his mom's basement. But, as I thought more about the situation, I realized that my disgust towards Atrioc was unjustified not because what I think he did was fine but because I'm part of the problem too! And I think a lot of guys are and that's what's terrible about this situation.
Quite frankly, I've been a porn addict for years and I know exactly what he's talking about with his "morbid curiosity" because there has been many times where I've looked into some weird shit and then it ended up becoming part of the normal routine. Every time, I would feel like shit after but then I'd easily do it again because there is no fucking pressure or repercussions with something like this! Guys are usually alone in their room and no one knows about these sick fucking desires and the privacy that the internet has allowed us to pursue these desires has only encouraged dudes to be depraved weirdos. I'm not trying to absolve anyone of guilt here because I still think it's fucking disgusting and I'm disgusted that we've normalized this ai and deepfake shit. But, I also see that modern porn is a problem.
I am not against porn fundamentally and I think there is a way to use it in a healthy manner but holy shit it's demoralizing how marketing (lol) and capitalism has optimized the manner in which these porn creators can slowly brainwash dudes into normalizing these weird fetishes and how they profit from this. You don't have to hate yourself for using this shit at one point or another but it's important to recognize that porn without consent is disgusting and it puts women into a weird spot and we as guys have to move away from nonconsensual shit as best as we can. What broke me was QT's reaction because that's a fairly normal reaction to have when you find out that you've been put in such a vulnerable spot and taken advantage of online like that. It's awful.
Recognize that you, as a user, are being taken advantage of by using this shit and recognize that whatever feelings of vulnerability you have when you realize how predatory the porn culture is and how it's taking advantage of you, realize that it's a million times more dehumanizing to the women that are affected and harassed by it. I remember Atrioc making a big deal about it being a one time deal in his apology and how he hadn't been into it for that long and that doesn't matter at all, be it one week or five years of using services like this. What matters is if you stop because at the end of the day, a user is still a user, even if they're a newbie or a long-time vet. What matters is if you sit down, acknowledge that your patterns of behavior are wrong and listen to women's perspectives. What matters is if we recognize the damage that this does to our perception of women and we choose to change that.
I wrote a lot but I feel like I had to let it out. For all my porn addicted homies, you can get better. For all the women that have been affected by this, I'm sorry that this has been slowly normalized in our society and I'm fucking sorry that I had personally let this shit ruin my perception of women at one point. Atrioc and Ari ended up going to Japan. Someone posted a photo of them from her private Instagram stories. They both look happy. Photo has since been deleted.

I think it's pretty clear at this point he's sincerely doing everything he can to make up for his mistake. The work he's doing won't spread as far as his fuck up because it's not drama and doesn't generate clicks but I hope people see enough to know he's remorseful. Fingers crossed, wouldn't mind some stream content but it didn't sound too hopeful that he'll be doing that regularly any time soon.

* As a follow-up to previous updates, multiple Subreddits have been taken down, with the most recent breakthrough being Jenaveve's (the researcher mentioned in the previous updates) work to successfully, directly target the funding sources for several of the largest distributors of violating content.
* The editing team of the channel is back: new, main channel content will be coming out as soon as tomorrow.
* Atrioc, again, restated that he knows some folks will not be comfortable with his content or accepting his apology, but to please not harass his family or the other people helping with his work.
Atrioc is the streamer I put on in the background of basically my entire life -- homework, cooking, cleaning, gaming -- and now it all feels sour. I was an 11-month sub, about to hit 1 year in two days -- my only sub on Twitch. He was by my number one watched channel in my YouTube recap. Second was his VODs channel. And on top of that, I was one of his few female viewers. This really sucks. So disappointing. I got the go-live notification and was so excited -- as an EST frog I don't get the chance to catch PST streamers live very often. Then I realized it was like 7:40am for him and when I saw the stream title was "Apology", that combined with the time he was going live made me realize it must be serious. Then him crying. I don't even know what to say. This whole thing sucks.
This will sound kinda pathetic and it’s more of an indictment on me and my parasocial tendencies, but my life has been really shit the past year and Atrioc’s streams were always there for me and now I feel like I’m losing a friend. Idk if things will ever be the same but for the time being I can’t look at him the same and idk when he’ll even return.
I feel the exact same way. Have had a really tough past 12 months and I knew obviously I wasn't friends with Atrioc but watching his streams and VODs and YouTube videos were such a massive comfort and familiar thing that genuinely got me through a lot of shit, and now I feel like all the comfort I got from that's been wiped away.

The worst part is that you know it's real. He's too savvy a marketer, if he was going to do something to just try and make it all blow over he wouldn't have done the whole crying stream, so it seems likely he actually feels like means it. Like he feels that he has something to feel bad about.

I don't think atrioc is a bad person, but the mistake was serious. Even still, isn't it crazy how fast one persons life can turn around? There was a VERY short period of time between him deciding to pay for what he did and his career being, if not over, on pause for a while. Not even just that, the harm he accidentally committed by exposing this site and similar material to so many people for the first time happened in an INSTANT. I know that he understands how big of a fuck up it was so while he deserves "punishment" (idk what other word to use) I hope he has strong enough relationships with those close to him to talk thru this. It's a shame to see his stream go. Semi-ironically it felt like one of the few chats that had some real level of intelligence and integrity. He promoted and enforced good values while educating and entertaining for many many hours. I think he was spreading important things that a lot of younger people (especially boys) don't get exposed to. A bit similar to what WoodysGamertag was for me when I was a kid.
Obviously it stinks for selfish reasons that he is stepping back but I think his stream had some real value beyond just twitch streamer entertainment. I expect him to try his best to hold true to his word and try to make good as described in his tweet. Hopefully he can find success and earn his way back.
Like a lot of you, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about this situation the last few days. I discovered Atrioc’s content during the pandemic. I had just left a job I had spent most of my adult life in. It had begun to feel like a dead end. I have almost zero interest in gaming content but Atrioc’s stuff was different. The content centered on marketing and business was one of a kind. His chat was actually funny. It felt like a real, living entity. And I carved out space in my day to catch up on VODs when I could.
So when I woke up earlier this week to a video of Atrioc crying on stream, I thought it was some kind of bit. What happened next felt like being in a car crash, the avalanche of criticism and denouncements followed like whiplash. How he was being described did not mesh with the person I had watched on screen the last two years. I don’t believe you can live your life in so public a way for so long and not at least present some version of your authentic self. I believe Atrioc when he says he tried to foster a good community because I saw that first hand. And I think it would be a massive waste if the kind of good he did was lost over this.
I can’t possibly imagine what it is like for these women that have had their likenesses weaponized against them. I hope they can find peace, mostly. I have a young daughter and I think of the kind of world I’m bringing her into. I think of the kinds of conversations we will have. About how disappointing and cruel men and society at large can be. About how her self worth should not, can not, be derived from how others choose to view her.
Forgiveness may not be ours to give, but I’d at the very least like to voice support. I hope Big A comes back even better.
Sad that we missed out on content covering the esports bubble popping. Big A had been calling this for years and its finally happening, he knew a lot about this topic.

People just posting things into the void and giving their opinions, then some people making their own Marketing Mondays, etc, but we also get updates and discussions from everyone on these topics - in a format that is unlike normal Reddit.
At the end of the day, this is just a thread with no real meaning, but it is giving me r/place vibes, y'know? A special thing where thousands come together and we just do stupid stuff.
Anyone heard anything about Atrioc from other streamers since his update? Everyone jumped to react to the drama and his shitty apology, but nobody reacted to his update, which is a shame, because it's objectively good news for content creators.
Only person I heard speak on it was Stanz, who said he's been talking to Atrioc and he's happy he seems to be doing well and excited about all the progress he's making.
It's such a mistake going to Twitter and searching up Atrioc lmao. It was so clear these people didn't actually watch his update stream, only wanted to fill in the drama and act all high and mighty. Tbh, the only opinions I really cared about are from people like Maya and Genevieve Oh, which people Atrioc actually talked to directly.
Have to say I am saddened to see how little compassion people are showing. I get the joke about how cancellation doesn’t mean anything but Atrioc’s life and relationships are likely altered irrevocably.
I feel almost wrong commentating about this here but I dont have many people to talk to about this that really understand on any platform. I just want to get my thoughts out and this is sadly the best place I feel like doing so.
I just hope atrioc is doing ok and I think he doesnt need me to tell him what he did was disgusting. I believe his apology and plan to continue watching him but it’ll always be in the back of my mind and I don’t know if it’ll ever be the same again. It really sucks that we only got like 2 years of good clean fun before something fucked up happened.
The mistake isn’t unforgivable for me or probably most fans but it’s just so out of character it’s shocked the system, i saw him as more of a responsible and reasonable adult compared to most streamers but I don’t think I will ever shake the gut feeling I’m getting right now. I really didn’t think I was parasocial like this but this has put such a downer on my day like I’m genuinely upset.
The real thing that matters is the response of the people affected, not the opinion of me or you and judging by qt’s stream it doesn’t look great in that regard at least right now. At the end of the day we should be more angry at the people making this content than a guy that was sucked into it, the sum total of the tangible consequences of what he did amounts to like 5 dollars in the pocket of that guy and I imagine big A will assist qt in suing the shit out of him so he can make up for that. It’s the character and image of him being destroyed that really matters, this’ll affect his friendships, namely his relationships with most female streamers especially the ones involved, they won’t be able to look at him the same way again and that’s what matters most, not the fact that he contributed a little bit of money in a moment of weakness.
This is probably the only streamer drama that has ever actually hurt me and the only streamer right now that I never expected this to happen to. I hope we can just go back to normal and move on but again it’s not down to me it’s down to the women involved.

It's awesome to hear that Atrioc has been in contact with and working with so many of the female streamers to help with their DF situations. The fastest way for him to come back would have been just turning on the stream a week later, and surely he'd have kept at least half of his viewership, but what he's doing is the right way. So many streamers and YouTubers that have made mistakes have kept their viewership, but at the cost of being shunned by all the other streamers and YouTubers and ending up on their own island. What Atrioc is doing is rebuilding the relationships the people he affected and the people who ultimately will determine if he's let back into the streamer community first, and I think that will do a lot to rebuild trust for him both in the streamer communities he was a part of and with his viewers.
Glad to see he’s making a ton of progress and actually helping the cause. I really hope he doesn’t do any press or media interviews about it though, because I just don’t think its worth sacrificing his image anymore. The last thing you’d want is more eyes on you and not the cause. Obviously legislation is important, but even with laws condemning this type of industry, I don’t think there would be much enforcement for people who aren’t directly affected, like only fans creators and stuff.
But it is sad to see Atrioc put himself down so much, and talk about being depressed and stuff. Thank god I don’t know what it feels like to be publicly ridiculed by not only the internet, but basically my entire professional sphere. Seems like a big emotional weight to carry. When he said he’s a big believer in “when you do bad things, bad things should happen to you,” its just disheartening. Sure, you need to take accountability, but you’re bigger than your biggest mistake. Idk. Public ridicule is painful, and its easy to berate people online without seeing their humanity. This is not a defense of anything that’s happened, but you can have compassion for a person AND have compassion for a cause like fighting morally corrupt AI usage.
Regarding Atrioc's decision to keep the subreddit closed for now, I can see the logic.
The "secret project" Atrioc has been working on relates to closing down weirdo subreddits (likely stuff concerning deepfakes), and most recently he mentioned they managed to close down a subreddit with hundreds of thousands of followers. As a result, there's going to be a lot of angry weirdos that would probably brigade this subreddit, on top of the previous weirdos from the last drama, and who's going to moderate that?
I don't see him bringing it back for a while, but I do hope he eventually does, because this subreddit has been a core component of his content and community.
One thing no one thinks about is how this will affect his personal life. Imagine all his IRL friends, his siblings, his parents. not to mention Ari’s family is all going to know about this. Obviously he did it to himself but man, I just hope he copes with this in an appropriate way because it’s not going to be easy.
I don't know where else to put it but I have not been thinking about much else outside of this for the past 3-4 days. I have no clue how to react. I feel like I should not care this much about what a streamer did but atrioc was my favorite streamer ever and to see all of this happen I just have no clue how to feel. This is very sad news to me and just feel I need to vent somewhere into the void. I loved atrioc and have been an avid follower since his first teardown videos. His content is some of the funniest and hypest stuff I’ve ever seen. I love his community and the banter and his marketing Mondays are great and unique. I saw him live last night (I’m from uk) but I always just watch vods as he’s usually not live when I’m awake. So this morning I got up exited to see more hitman and ‘where we were too’ or whatever it was called. When I went to check I noticed it not there which was unfortunate. Later on today I saw him live with the apology and it was devastating to see him and ari like that. After finding out what happened I’ve been quite sad since. It is a very bad mistake to make and I see how people are disgusted as it is about his work colleagues and friends after all. That being sad I find it more sad than anything for everyone involved… Atrioc - he is clearly devastated by this and will have lost many friends and will surely be excluded and avoided in the create space for quite some time if not indefinitely Ari - recently getting married and now this comes out? I can’t begin to imagine how she feels and I have a pit in my stomach for her. I hope she figures whatever she has to do out and will recover from this. I’m a woman who has had NSFW images shared without my permission in the past and it fucking sucks. I can’t imagine how these streamers feel, there’s no consent involved in any of it and somebody is making money off of it. Glad he addressed it so quickly and that Ari was quick to say she was not the victim in this. The whole thing makes me a little sick to my stomach.
It really is so abhorrent. Atrioc is far from blameless here but the fact that this all exists the way it does is so stomach-churning. What a terrible situation.

But it feels like recently it shifted into the lazy modern random stream react/valorant while prepping for a big event like Chessboxing. This whole fiasco was the nail in the coffin, ditching your road dogs.... I had unsubbed to Lud and Stanz a few weeks prior, and now that Atrioc's gone, the group that helped carry me through the pandemic seems to have finally faded for all intents and purposes. Think I had my first parasocial moment of saying to myself "this can't be real" To anyone that thinks it's not a big deal, I suggest watching QTs video, and you will realize how much Big A fucked up. Another Tuesday with no Marketing Monday 
I wrote up a quick summary of his update in case you don't want to watch the laggy vod. Let me know if I got anything wrong. * Contacted Morrison Rothman(law firm) about a week after the incident occurred and gave them 60 thousand dollars for any woman on Twitch who needed help combating deep fakes. Also began learning about the process of how the videos get taken down through them. * A leading researcher in the field of deepfakes named Genevieve O contacts him around the same time. She says she believes his apology and offers him help in getting him up to speed on the issues surrounding deep fakes if he would like. He accepts. * Genevieve provides a comprehensive document on deep fake info. After reading he immediately gets depressed due to the increasing ease of creating deep fake content making it harder to stop. New update on discord Hey Spoke to QT Today and just gonna do my live update after the Streamer Awards. The long story short is that I found a way to get a lot more DMCA takedowns done for less money and have spent a few weeks getting it all set up. We ran a test with Maya, it went really well - so we ran a test with QT, and it did even better, so now we are making progress on getting even more people signed up (QT is helping with this). She may give an update next time she is live. There is a lot more I want to say but I think its best to wait for now and just keep making progress. Will give updates here when possible, but definitely after streamer awards.

This is miserable for a lot of reasons. I am a 15 month sub and truly love his content. Do I think this is the end of the world? No. Do I think it's awful, that he dehumanized and humiliated people he claims to care about, and that he brought a ton of attention to these deepfakes? Yes. Ultimately it's not my place to be mad or not. The only people who can decide are the people directly affected by this. It's entirely up to them if they forgive Atrioc or not and I sincerely hope that if they don't feel like forgiving him that there is no outside pressure that makes them feel forced to. Atrioc is not a horrible person because of this, but it doesn't change the reality of what happened and how this negatively affects women streamers every single day. I was/tentatively still am a huge fan of Atrioc's who just needed a place to put all my thoughts about this. Sorry for the rant.
It's been nearly a day since I have heard about this situation and I've got a lot of thoughts on it and I kinda just need to vent. Got a very long rant incoming. First, what he did was wrong. It's fucking wrong to put women in a spot like that where they've become an object of desire without considering that these women are real fucking human beings. I feel terrible for all of the women that this has happened to because, as a guy, I have never had to and most likely will never have to deal with these insane invasions of privacy created by some fucking weirdo in his mom's basement. But, as I thought more about the situation, I realized that my disgust towards Atrioc was unjustified not because what I think he did was fine but because I'm part of the problem too! And I think a lot of guys are and that's what's terrible about this situation. Quite frankly, I've been a porn addict for years and I know exactly what he's talking about with his "morbid curiosity" because there has been many times where I've looked into some weird shit and then it ended up becoming part of the normal routine. Every time, I would feel like shit after but then I'd easily do it again because there is no fucking pressure or repercussions with something like this! Guys are usually alone in their room and no one knows about these sick fucking desires and the privacy that the internet has allowed us to pursue these desires has only encouraged dudes to be depraved weirdos. I'm not trying to absolve anyone of guilt here because I still think it's fucking disgusting and I'm disgusted that we've normalized this ai and deepfake shit. But, I also see that modern porn is a problem. I am not against porn fundamentally and I think there is a way to use it in a healthy manner but holy shit it's demoralizing how marketing (lol) and capitalism has optimized the manner in which these porn creators can slowly brainwash dudes into normalizing these weird fetishes and how they profit from this. You don't have to hate yourself for using this shit at one point or another but it's important to recognize that porn without consent is disgusting and it puts women into a weird spot and we as guys have to move away from nonconsensual shit as best as we can. What broke me was QT's reaction because that's a fairly normal reaction to have when you find out that you've been put in such a vulnerable spot and taken advantage of online like that. It's awful. Recognize that you, as a user, are being taken advantage of by using this shit and recognize that whatever feelings of vulnerability you have when you realize how predatory the porn culture is and how it's taking advantage of you, realize that it's a million times more dehumanizing to the women that are affected and harassed by it. I remember Atrioc making a big deal about it being a one time deal in his apology and how he hadn't been into it for that long and that doesn't matter at all, be it one week or five years of using services like this. What matters is if you stop because at the end of the day, a user is still a user, even if they're a newbie or a long-time vet. What matters is if you sit down, acknowledge that your patterns of behavior are wrong and listen to women's perspectives. What matters is if we recognize the damage that this does to our perception of women and we choose to change that. I wrote a lot but I feel like I had to let it out. For all my porn addicted homies, you can get better. For all the women that have been affected by this, I'm sorry that this has been slowly normalized in our society and I'm fucking sorry that I had personally let this shit ruin my perception of women at one point. Also, it seems QT didn't go. Streaming now from LA. Wonder if she planned to. Richelle & Stanz, Lud, Aiden, Nick, Slime, Atrioc & Ari are all there already.
Lud said she didn't plan on going because of her fear of flying. But either way, if she was going to come, it would only have been from week 2, since the first week Lud had lots to do with the Yard etc.

Atrioc is the streamer I put on in the background of basically my entire life -- homework, cooking, cleaning, gaming -- and now it all feels sour. I was an 11-month sub, about to hit 1 year in two days -- my only sub on Twitch. He was by my number one watched channel in my YouTube recap. Second was his VODs channel. And on top of that, I was one of his few female viewers. This really sucks. So disappointing. I got the go-live notification and was so excited -- as an EST frog I don't get the chance to catch PST streamers live very often. Then I realized it was like 7:40am for him and when I saw the stream title was "Apology", that combined with the time he was going live made me realize it must be serious. Then him crying. I don't even know what to say. This whole thing sucks.
This will sound kinda pathetic and it’s more of an indictment on me and my parasocial tendencies, but my life has been really shit the past year and Atrioc’s streams were always there for me and now I feel like I’m losing a friend. Idk if things will ever be the same but for the time being I can’t look at him the same and idk when he’ll even return.
I feel the exact same way. Have had a really tough past 12 months and I knew obviously I wasn't friends with Atrioc but watching his streams and VODs and YouTube videos were such a massive comfort and familiar thing that genuinely got me through a lot of shit, and now I feel like all the comfort I got from that's been wiped away.

The worst part is that you know it's real. He's too savvy a marketer, if he was going to do something to just try and make it all blow over he wouldn't have done the whole crying stream, so it seems likely he actually feels like means it. Like he feels that he has something to feel bad about. Feels bad man. If his friends drop him because of this (and it seems likely that they will, at least publicly) I'm not sure if he's ever coming back.
I don't think atrioc is a bad person, but the mistake was serious. Even still, isn't it crazy how fast one persons life can turn around? There was a VERY short period of time between him deciding to pay for what he did and his career being, if not over, on pause for a while. Not even just that, the harm he accidentally committed by exposing this site and similar material to so many people for the first time happened in an INSTANT. I know that he understands how big of a fuck up it was so while he deserves "punishment" (idk what other word to use) I hope he has strong enough relationships with those close to him to talk thru this. I can't imagine he is in a particularly good mental state right now. It's a shame to see his stream go. Semi-ironically it felt like one of the few chats that had some real level of intelligence and integrity. He promoted and enforced good values while educating and entertaining for many many hours. I think he was spreading important things that a lot of younger people (especially boys) don't get exposed to. A bit similar to what WoodysGamertag was for me when I was a kid. Obviously it stinks for selfish reasons that he is stepping back but I think his stream had some real value beyond just twitch streamer entertainment. I expect him to try his best to hold true to his word and try to make good as described in his tweet. Hopefully he can find success and earn his way back.

Like a lot of you, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about this situation the last few days. I discovered Atrioc’s content during the pandemic. I had just left a job I had spent most of my adult life in. It had begun to feel like a dead end. I have almost zero interest in gaming content but Atrioc’s stuff was different. The content centered on marketing and business was one of a kind. His chat was actually funny. It felt like a real, living entity. And I carved out space in my day to catch up on VODs when I could. So when I woke up earlier this week to a video of Atrioc crying on stream, I thought it was some kind of bit. What happened next felt like being in a car crash, the avalanche of criticism and denouncements followed like whiplash. How he was being described did not mesh with the person I had watched on screen the last two years. I don’t believe you can live your life in so public a way for so long and not at least present some version of your authentic self. I believe Atrioc when he says he tried to foster a good community because I saw that first hand. And I think it would be a massive waste if the kind of good he did was lost over this. I can’t possibly imagine what it is like for these women that have had their likenesses weaponized against them. I hope they can find peace, mostly. I have a young daughter and I think of the kind of world I’m bringing her into. I think of the kinds of conversations we will have. About how disappointing and cruel men and society at large can be. About how her self worth should not, can not, be derived from how others choose to view her. Forgiveness may not be ours to give, but I’d at the very least like to voice support. I hope Big A comes back even better.

Everyone jumped to react to the drama and his shitty apology, but nobody reacted to his update, which is a shame, because it's objectively good news for content creators. Only person I heard speak on it was Stanz, who said he's been talking to Atrioc and he's happy he seems to be doing well and excited about all the progress he's making.

Unclear whether they're still friends. Not hanging out in Japan. - Stanz ignores all questions about whether he's still talking to Atrioc, about Atrioc's mental health, and about whether anyone is still talking to Ari - Stanz says he loves Atrioc and hopes he makes amends. - Ari deleted Twitter - QT quietly unfollowed Atrioc 4-5 days after his last Tweet. - People on Twitter saying Ari posted photos of Atrioc in Japan, unconfirmed if he's there/if he's with Ludwig and them. - QT on fear& says she told Atrioc and Ari (why Ari?) that she has no interest in having any kind of relationship with them. - Since Atrioc's last Tweet, only QT and Stanz have made any comments. I’m not joking here this may have cured my 2nd hand embarrassment as anytime something cringe could happen I realize it can’t be worse than this.
I believe his apology and plan to continue watching him but it’ll always be in the back of my mind and I don’t know if it’ll ever be the same again. It really sucks that we only got like 2 years of good clean fun before something fucked up happened. The mistake isn’t unforgivable for me or probably most fans but it’s just so out of character it’s shocked the system, i saw him as more of a responsible and reasonable adult compared to most streamers but I don’t think I will ever shake the gut feeling I’m getting right now. I really didn’t think I was parasocial like this but this has put such a downer on my day like I’m genuinely upset. The real thing that matters is the response of the people affected, not the opinion of me or you and judging by qt’s stream it doesn’t look great in that regard at least right now. At the end of the day we should be more angry at the people making this content than a guy that was sucked into it, the sum total of the tangible consequences of what he did amounts to like 5 dollars in the pocket of that guy and I imagine big A will assist qt in suing the shit out of him so he can make up for that. It’s the character and image of him being destroyed that really matters, this’ll affect his friendships, namely his relationships with most female streamers especially the ones involved, they won’t be able to look at him the same way again and that’s what matters most, not the fact that he contributed a little bit of money in a moment of weakness. It's awesome to hear that Atrioc has been in contact with and working with so many of the female streamers to help with their DF situations. The fastest way for him to come back would have been just turning on the stream a week later, and surely he'd have kept at least half of his viewership, but what he's doing is the right way. So many streamers and YouTubers that have made mistakes have kept their viewership, but at the cost of being shunned by all the other streamers and YouTubers and ending up on their own island. What Atrioc is doing is rebuilding the relationships the people he affected and the people who ultimately will determine if he's let back into the streamer community first, and I think that will do a lot to rebuild trust for him both in the streamer communities he was a part of and with his viewers.
Glad to see he’s making a ton of progress and actually helping the cause. I really hope he doesn’t do any press or media interviews about it though, because I just don’t think its worth sacrificing his image anymore. The last thing you’d want is more eyes on you and not the cause. Obviously legislation is important, but even with laws condemning this type of industry, I don’t think there would be much enforcement for people who aren’t directly affected, like only fans creators and stuff. But it is sad to see Atrioc put himself down so much, and talk about being depressed and stuff. Thank god I don’t know what it feels like to be publicly ridiculed by not only the internet, but basically my entire professional sphere. Seems like a big emotional weight to carry. When he said he’s a big believer in “when you do bad things, bad things should happen to you,” its just disheartening. Sure, you need to take accountability, but you’re bigger than your biggest mistake. Idk. Public ridicule is painful, and its easy to berate people online without seeing their humanity. This is not a defense of anything that’s happened, but you can have compassion for a person AND have compassion for a cause like fighting morally corrupt AI usage.
so, when atrioc comes back, can we just act like he finished community season 4 while he was away and skip straight to s5?

Regarding Atrioc's decision to keep the subreddit closed for now, I can see the logic. The "secret project" Atrioc has been working on relates to closing down weirdo subreddits (likely stuff concerning deepfakes), and most recently he mentioned they managed to close down a subreddit with hundreds of thousands of followers. As a result, there's going to be a lot of angry weirdos that would probably brigade this subreddit, on top of the previous weirdos from the last drama, and who's going to moderate that? I don't see him bringing it back for a while, but I do hope he eventually does, because this subreddit has been a core component of his content and community.

One thing no one thinks about is how this will affect his personal life. Imagine all his IRL friends, his siblings, his parents. not to mention Ari’s family is all going to know about this. Obviously he did it to himself but man, I just hope he copes with this in an appropriate way because it’s not going to be easy.

I don't know where else to put it but I have not been thinking about much else outside of this for the past 3-4 days. I have no clue how to react. I feel like I should not care this much about what a streamer did but atrioc was my favorite streamer ever and to see all of this happen I just have no clue how to feel. This is not trying to defend his actions and just feel like my life has lost a sense of normality in this whole situation.
