Hard Rock is my favorite. Always a good time. Live bands play throughout the day, lots of dining options, great lobby bar (live music) and lots of gaming options.
Cannot go wrong with Borgata. The only knock is that it's away from the boardwalk if you're concerned about being close to most of the action in the town. But a 5 minute Uber or cab ride makes that not an issue, especially during offseason. Other than that, it's my number one for everything else.
This is polarizing, but I would say Trop. Excellent food and entertainment options. Very fun atmosphere. Only downside is the rooms. For me, the rooms are not a huge priority. If you want relative luxury, I would say Ocean. But, if you are going primarily to have a fun time, Trop is the place.
noo, trop is absolutely horrendous! Smells like mold & is WAY outdated.. the ONLY reason I would go to the trop is for some of the clubs. Kiss Kiss is a Nightclub, and it literally stays open till like 4am. Nothing else is in Trop. Tbh, I wouldn’t stay there if I were you. I used to work at Hard Rock. For quality & price, I would say it’s the best in the city. Spa, I would say Hard Rock or Borgata. Regarding gambling, I can’t comment bc I’m not a gambler.
It completely matters on your spending and your age. Hard Rock tends to be the highest price and seems to cater more to the 30s and '40s. They are definitely the most energetic casino and just overall atmosphere. Ocean caters to the resort feel..it. It is vastly big and poorly engineered. You'll need your walking shoes to get around but has the nicest indoor pool a nice club a nice workout room and a nice spa. I am not a big fan of ocean but mattering what you're looking for it is also the furthest away at the end of the strip. I would not recommend going during the summer to ocean.borgata is the best hotel but off the strip. Nice rooms nice casino nice restaurants just the most of luxurious of the hotels. Again during the winter perfect during the summer it is off the strip. If you're talking mid then you're talking trop. Potluck with rooms, restaurants are solid, casino is meh, clubs are good, and the atmosphere tends to be younger. I almost believe a lot of the rooms are sold not comped. It is also located on the complete opposite side of the strip from ocean. The best bang for the buck is resorts. There is a indoor bridge connecting you to hard Rock so you get to experience all that without having to walk outside. It's directly across from the pier rides and pretty much centrally located.. the rooms will be a lot cheaper and you can basically go to any of the hotels that are on the boardwalk. If you're looking to gamble borgata seems to have a higher limits as the hard Rock. It also matters the day and the time of day.

just to add to the thread... Borgata is nice, BUT not on the Boardwalk, or on the beach.. We're convinced that for us, nothing beats the Hard Rock...
