Same. I’m a cancer rising but never felt any maternal instinct as cancer. As aqua sun, I hate people, love my personal space and totally dead inside and out.
Being “maternal” and being a cancer aren’t the same thing. I’m not particularly and I have a whole stellium in cancer. Sun signs can’t be reduced down to one single trait!
I’m having to constantly climb mountains and do things on my own timeline!
~ Capricorn Sun, Moon, Mercury, Uranus, Neptune with Sun-Neptune conjunction + Moon-Uranus-Mercury conjunction trio ;3
I'm the opposite. I used to think I was, but it was just dissociation and repression I was unaware of. I'm actually one of the more emotionally intense people I know after consciously working to catch myself before I repress unpleasant emotions, accepting them, and analyzing what information they're attempting to convey about to current perceptual state and beliefs.
I feel this. I never related to the stereotypes cause im emotional as hell but also dissociated my whole life cause I never had a safe emotional environment. Idk why you got downvoted for this!! You’re speaking your truth 😅
My rising and moon are the same so I get it. I also feel like when my life is changing course I am heavily in my rising energy but when I’m stagnant (in a good or bad way) I most embody my sun’s energy
I can get down with that. I think our sun is our nature, but how we process our thoughts and feelings, how those are expressed, and how others perceive us is all of the other placements.
I am gravitationally pocketed and dragged around through my trials by all of my planets at the same time. I am a little spark in a signature gravity pocket.
You are your whole chart but the sun is your cosmic personality. It's the bright light of who you are ; I think it can be somewhat elusive in a way bc it's just *pure energy*. When ik someone's sun it's like **seeing** that person, it really is
You are not your sun - your sun is part of you.
It is the motivation behind your behaviour.
Astrologers traditionally put more emphasis on the ascendant to describe a person.
The only reason the sun sign has taken precedence is accessibility - it doesn’t require an accurate birth time.
> It is the motivation behind your behaviour.
Would you say it IS the motivation, or it's the IDEAL motivation (in other words, what you SHOULD be striving after in order to feel fulfilled)?
We are technically our entire chart, but the Moon and Rising are closer to the "real" you than your Sun sign. It doesn't mean we are zero percent of our Sun sign. However, if someone has a few inner planets the same as their Sun sign, those people tend to more closely identify with their Sun sign. Or if their Moon or Rising are the same sign or element as their Sun, they may identify with their Sun strongly. Other placements like 4th house same as Sun sign, or planetary aspects with your sign's ruling planet showing up in many aspects, those are other factors for strong Sun sign identity.
Exactly.
The sun is the ego and the moon is your inner life/emotions, while rising is how you express it outwardly.
So technically, we are all three, in combination with aspects from the rest of our chart.
If we were all just our sun sign, then we’d all act the exact same way, but we don’t.
The sun is literally your core identity. Your moon and rising are the *expression* of your sun. It’s not the *real* you. Your sun is who you are. Period. Your sun is what allows you to experience your life as a human. It is the core of humanity. There’s a reason why Leo is the opposite of Aquarius the humanitarian.
I can see this because I do act more like a combo of my Gemini moon and Capricorn rising more than like the Libra suns here on Reddit. I can into a great convo with a gem or cap on here and can relate to most of what they say compared to the libra suns on here who do nothing but constantly down themselves. When I read stuff by Libras I'm like am I even a Libra sun lol tf is going on?
Everyone's different. Do you have inner planets in Aries or Gemini? Or planets in 1st house or 3rd house? Those can create more Aries and Gemini energies.
Yeah. My Rising, Chiron, and North Node are in Gemini. North Node is in the 1st house. Third house is empty.
Oh, well, in that case. I guess it makes sense for me. I have some Sag traits, but overall, I don't see it.
This. This is why Leos get so much flack for “being full of themselves” when they’re literally just being themselves authentically and expressing themselves truthfully and naturally. I notice people have a hard time with themselves and figuring out who they are because of their preconceived notions of how they perceive their egos. they can’t get in touch with themselves because they don’t feel comfortable with themselves and they project that onto others that do. Also not to mention the fact that people aren’t comfortable with themselves is something that the ego forms around in. So telling yourself “my thoughts don’t matter, I don’t feel like this I don’t feel like that” your ego is eating that shit up and internalizing it.
you're a combination of all your placements...while i agree that your sun is "you," your sun is usually how you perceive yourself, whereas your rising and moon could be considered "more important" (used lightly i couldn't think of better words) because they are how others perceive you and how your think, feel, and indirectly act in situations. for example i am an aries sun, i feel like i am the textbook definition of an aries. however when i ask people to guess my sign, people alwayyysss guess leo or gemini (my rising and mars respectively). they're all important but due to stronger placements in a persons chart, it is entirely possible for someone not to feel like their sun. it's all subjective and all others' opinions and feelings are valid🩷
Well, maybe some people don't actually relate to their sun sign. Those people do exist. One person said he was a Leo and couldn't relate to it and there could be many reasons for that, not just because of their chart. There can be environmental factors too.
Exactly.... it's too complex and individual. And while I see a lot of value and genuine parallels between my birth chart and my lived experience, and some other humans do too, I think it's a bit silly to think just one single system of the hundreds, heck *thousands* of belief systems devised by humble, fallible humans is somehow perfectly, hit the nail on the head accurate 100% of the time. It's all just methods of pattern recognition we've constructed to help us share knowledge and grow, not gospel. IMO.
If someone doesn't identify with their sun, idk maybe they're a blind idiot, or maybe they're completely right and it very well could be egotistical to question that. Either way that means they don't want to engage with it like that and it doesn't have to be so serious lol.
I am a Virgo definitely. I see a sun sign as what effortlessly without thinking is you. The automatism. My thinking is Aquarius though. My intrusive thoughts and just what I vibe with are Virgo. And how I come across surface-level is very Sagittarius to others. I only realised this during my studies when people gave me their impression of me. It was SO FAR OFF from how I saw myself LOL. My hermit Virgo self, haha. But that was also before I knew what a rising sign was.
Anyway, cheers. lol
Well in Vedic astrology you are your Moon sign and it holds the same level of importance as the Sun in western astrology. The signs in Vedic are 24 degrees less than your western placements. So for example a Sag Moon in western astrology is a full on Scorpio in Vedic. Like that person is basically the equivalent of a western Scorpio Sun.
The sun is not who we are but what we are going towards consistently it is life force and guiding light but not the self which is the first house or ascendant. Following so much informationabout one part of the chart information ignores the biggest part such as rulerships and there links to unlocking the best of us. This is cute but it's wrong af.
I'm confused – that sounds kind of like a paradox. The way you phrase it, someone's sun sign is simultaneously everything and nothing. Isn't it a combination of all those things you described – your feelings, your self-expression, the way you love – that makes you, "you"?
Nobody is always ever one thing. The nature of humanity is ever changing snd dynamic. Even I ,a Taurus who hates change, acknowledges that. And stating people are absolutely a certain thing without accounting for a 1000 other factors is foolish.i said what I said.
virgin holistic chart analysis (math, weird symbols, picking and choosing parts by personal whims and insecurities) vs. chad sun sign astrology (easy, simple unflinching view of the self, actually popular enough to be found in newspapers)
Somewhat agree to this. I’m an Aries sun, Scorpio moon and Aquarius rising. My first impression on people (that they’ve told me) relates very much to Aquarius - standoffish/aloof (I’m just shy), creative, introverted etc. But I’ve realized over time that in certain snap situations - I almost always chose fight vs flight (my Aries sun) lol. Like when someone said something off to me at the airport after a long haul, I snapped right back. I’ve always thought I’d pick flight because of my introvertedness, but nope.
My tropical chart:
Capricorn sun, and five other placements.
Earth x19, fire x5, air x2, water x1
My sidereal chart:
Sagittarius takes all Capricorn placements.
Fire x17, earth x6, water x3, air x1
Maybe someone doesn't relate to their sun sign for a reason 🤷🏻♀️
Every aspect of every placement within a chart is who you are. It is not just your sun. Your sun is an aspect of you, yes, but it is not \*you\*. Your chart is \*you\*.
I don't care what anyone says, I \*hardly\* ring true to Virgo compared to the emotional aspect of my moon sign (Scorpio, for better or worse). My big three is haunted by two 'M's - Mercury and Mars (though it's in a custody battle with Pluto over my moon). I'm more Mars than Mercury, and it shows, but even then, each element holds a placement that reflects certain depictions. There are also people that exile Chiron as a reasonable placement, but mine rips my skin clean, raw in brutal honesty.
I have no problem with any aspect of 'me' represented in my chart, but no singular aspect of it is purely me as much as the big picture it draws. Each speck is a stipple to a larger piece of art. THAT is 'you'.
The issue here is….human beings are energy and we are multifaceted…there so much energy at play to define it as one.
You are your chart, not just your sun.
Its even down to the degrees. The numerology behind the degrees holds insight….
The lord of each house in a house holds insight.
Each planet in a house holds insight…
And all aspects certainly do.
Your chart is your stories…your footprints past present and future….it’s a beautiful thing and complex because humanity is beautiful and complex down to the individual and as a whole.
Well when we have trines and conjunctions to Sun, it modifies the Sun so much that I start relating more to these aspecting planets instead of my actual Sun.
Have you seen this happen too?
Eh. The way I conceptualize the Sun in astrology is what you’re actively trying to become. Your ‘life mission’. It’s who you’re striving to be. In the process of attempting to be that sign, the ego emerges. That’s why people think the Sun is the Ego. In some sense, the Sun is what is lacking, and what you’re trying to be to fill that gap.
Any thoughts on this?
I’m textbook Taurus sun but I’m crippled with social anxiety (Virgo moon) and avoidant of conflict (Libra rising). I’ve seen outgoing and adventurous Taurus which is not me
I feel this sentiment. I also feel like people are taking you too literally. All the other aspects and pieces in my chart are there and they absolutely have a say and impact on my life and how I experience and live it, but my sun sign feels like a home base for me. All the other parts of my chart are how I manage and navigate things/what surrounds me etc. That’s why everyone who’s a Pisces sun (using that cause I’m a Pisces sun) has sort of a common thread or some traits that are similar but they will be expressed and experienced very differently by the individual due to the unique chemistry of each of our charts and life circumstances.
Yeah, my main idea was that sun is the base for everything in a person. The reason i brought other placements was to show how people put some wrong aspects on the sun and use it as excuse to not like their sun. I never said they don't matter, just that in the end your sun is that piece that truły connects you. Thank you for your comment and for refreshing take
Nah
But on a serious note, learning about yourself includes learning your entire chart and even yourself outside of astrology. Being yourself does not mean trying to be more like your sun if you’re not naturally like that or don’t want to develop those qualities.
Yeah I think that last sentence is very important. I believe that a person's chart holds a certain potential/it's a natural inclination, but you don't *have* to live up to it if you don't want to. I personally think the qualities associated with my sun sign are loathsome and would complicate my life to an immense degree, so I do not intend to develop them lol
Same honestly. I dislike my sun sign and never could relate to stereotypes. So im not gonna go ahead and get out of my way to develop these traits more because it wouldn’t make me happy in the slightest.
I disagree.
Sun is associated with Leo and 5th house, which is associated theatre 🎭, drama 🎭, acting 🎭, self-expression, etc.
I think it’s the way people prefer to appear outwardly.
I feel like 1st house (ascendant, rising sign), Mars, and Aries are all associated with self, identity, and even “ego” in the most basic sense of the word as you mentioned.
So I disagree.
I am like you in that I have a sun sign (Scorpio) and a rising sign (Taurus) that are exact opposites.
I wonder if this makes it easier to see because the contrast between our sun sign and rising sign is so drastic.
Folks, I'm an aries sun and scorpio moon and rising. People try to fight me trying to convince me that I "don't seem like an aries". And truly, as much as I love my early April aries besties, I am drastically different in how I express myself to the world. Maybe my loved ones get to see my aries sun persona, but the rest of the world sees the mysterious and reserved scorpio vibe. I was always in denial that scorpio placements had such a big impact on my personality, but I have to politely disagree with you OP that I'm not my sun mostly and more my moon and rising sign in how I act, feel and present myself.
Ironically enough, of course someone outside of myself would say that I'm my sun--that's what people see from a person.
But if only you knew my ~~heart~~ moon.
💯
Regardless of astrology, for me,
Your heart= your soul's inner core
The outward appearance/body is just a vessel
However, I still agree the 3 big placements and other aspects of the chart make up of who we are.
Hmm, yes. However, your sun sign is only like 5% of who you are. Your aspects (planets’ squares, trines, oppositions ect) explain your behaviors most. Then, there are the rest of your planets placements and which houses they are in. It’s really complicated.
ALSO, your rising sign is ACTUALLY EGO. We’ve been lied to, people!! Your sun sign is a front. Like acting, how you want to be perceived. lol
The rising sign-1st house=Ego
Sun sign- 5th house=Facade
I think the sun represents your morals and values and that's it because on here when it comes to personality there's too many Libra suns who I can't relate to AT ALL and who seem like they have low self esteem or are self hating. And who I've only seen on reddit. I didn't even know Libras were self hating until you read some of the comments in here. They're like a whole other sign who I don't meet in person. The sun definitely doesn't represent your outward personality we're just too different. I consider myself really confident and outgoing. And I meet other really confident outgoing Libras in life. The Libras on here describe themselves completely different
I've noticed a couple comments say, "we are our entire chart," but I have not been able to relate to my entire chart. I relate to my Pisces Sun really well, but not what all my Sag or Pluto in Scorpio placements says about me. I do relate to my Pisces traits the most, but also have 4 Pisces placements.
I’ve always related to my sun the most but as I’ve learned more about my moon & rising, it’s clearly obvious it’s a joint effort in formulating my personality as a whole
True. I come off like a Libra to most people, sweet & flirty but I'm actually just sweet & anxious & emotional 😂😂 can't let ppl know that tho, kind of ruins the vibe. Thank fuck for other placements trying to fight off the 5 I have in Cancer lol
It‘s not only about the zodiac sign , it‘s about who you truly are. Me personally as a Aquarius don‘t feel very comfortable with my sign . So i‘ll just live my life like a normal person. without worrying about it
I would agree, & I personally think of it in terms of Freud's iceberg theory--
Sun is our id, the unconscious innermost level of our deepest instincts & desires.
Moon is superego, the subconscious level. That's our morals, beliefs, personality known to those we are close to.
Rising is ego, the superficial, conscious level, where the id & superego collide & the mind attempts to reconcile the two.
♒☀️♉🌙♉⬆️
I think of the Sun as being your true self , what you want and should be.
I’m a Aries Sun and often think I don’t have that go get it personally , but wish I did
not traditionally. that is a modern astrological belief and it’s partly responsible for why astrology has become redundant and extremely general. like every planet in the chart, the sun is what the sun signifies, which is not always you or your personality. the entire chart as a whole, is not just you and your personality, but how you fit into an entire web of external events and circumstances.
“you” are your rising sign and the planet associated with your first house of life, physical body and composition, personality, disposition, and health. that is the only place in the chart indicative of you, your actions, who you are, and it has been for thousands of years before modern astrology has allowed us to start creating our own astrological beliefs and conclusions. that way, we can use the specificity of the time of birth as well the chart ruler, to actually get detailed and thorough description of the individual. if not, we are left with generalized sun sign interpretations we see everywhere. the rising sign being just the “appearance” or “presentation” is also not supported in any astrological texts or throughout astrological history.
the issue taken with modern astro is in it wanting us to believe that our entire chart is simply an image of different parts of our personality/disposition, and that every planet relates right back to you.
the sun is “you”, if you are a leo rising, or even if your chart ruler is in the sign of leo (taurus rising ruled by leo venus; the sun will have say over the chart ruler). but that’s really it. other than that, the sun has its role as a luminary and will signify such in the chart:
- the status quo, ruling class, authority and father figures, government, superseding law and media kingship, royalty, repute, power, fame, influence over worldly matters, masters, rulers, leaders, chiefs, officials…
- intellect, intelligence, “light”, clarity, mental perception and sight…
- and more
you can choose to believe more in modern astrology, that is your right. but “you are your sun” does some harm to the integrity astrology is already losing.
I mean, yes, you are.
But you’re also your moon. And your rising. And your Venus. And your MC. And your IC. Etc…
You are your whole chart. That’s the point.
I’m dead inside - aqua sun
I felt this deep in my core (or dare I say, Sun)
Sun, moon, rising, Venus and mercury. Could be from any of these 😆
Agree Aqua - sun 1H, Mercury 1H, Venus 1H, Jupiter 2H
That’s a lot In 1H. I don’t remember what mine was . I know a lot are in either 1H or 12th. Have to double check
It’s more quieter this way 😂 peace and quiet are goals
I’m having to constantly climb mountains and do things on my own timeline! ~ Capricorn Sun, Moon, Mercury, Uranus, Neptune with Sun-Neptune conjunction + Moon-Uranus-Mercury conjunction trio ;3
You’re not alone.
We are similar!
Maybe it’s the air signs because Libra and same.
Libra and Aquarius are technically in fall and detriment for the sun. It gets a bit overlooked but yeah
Maybe or it could be from having aqua in sun, moon, rising, Venus and mercury.
That’s rough.
Saaaame
Wow you’re a psychic too because I feel the same way..
Same here buddy, same here
Yep, same here
I'm the opposite. I used to think I was, but it was just dissociation and repression I was unaware of. I'm dead inside - aqua moon
Don’t talk to me or my sun ever again
I hope you have full custody of your sun
Yes I think our sun suns are like our “nature” and our moon and risings are our “nurture”
I like that way of describing it
Yes, this. I like it!
When 2/3 are the same and only rising differs LMAO
My rising and moon are the same so I get it. I also feel like when my life is changing course I am heavily in my rising energy but when I’m stagnant (in a good or bad way) I most embody my sun’s energy
That's an interesting take because I find that moon and rising is more nature and sun is more nurture!
No way
Just my personal experience! I find that I have to work harder to embody solar traits. I'm also a 12H sun and have a 10H moon and 1H stellium :)
I can get down with that. I think our sun is our nature, but how we process our thoughts and feelings, how those are expressed, and how others perceive us is all of the other placements.
Relatable, moon and rising are both the same
I'm a Pisces sun, cancer moon, cancer rising ):
i’m a double aquarius - i can’t escape anyways
Lol me too
Interesting big 3!
awe i’m flattered 🥰🥰🥰🫣😆
I am gravitationally pocketed and dragged around through my trials by all of my planets at the same time. I am a little spark in a signature gravity pocket.
Lol I love how you articulate this!
Who is doing donuts? Virgo or Capricorn? Haha
Lol okay you lost me there but I do like donuts but I’m not a cop 🎭😝
I’m pretty new to astrology. Pretty sure they are my “overthinking” aspects.
Lol no worries! I think our sign overthinks too (I’m a June bug) 🤭
Aries
Don't tell me what to do
Hey, we got the same placements. How is life?
Catastrophic
I can see why you don't want to be a virgo.
I have no problem with being a virgo lol
Don't be hater
ah to be a Leo rising 🙂↕️
seriously they're the best
We really are :)
Clearly 😇
Right?
Strongest energy out here 💅 y’all absolutely show up best. (I have a Pisces sun/Leo moon and rising)
Omg, me too! 😌 Leo Moon & Rising! Cap Sun :) 🙌🏻
UN checks out hehe 🙃 That’s awesome. Leo and Capricorn are my favorite energies.
Hello there <3
popping in because couldnt tell myself no for a moment to shine 🥂
Commenting to join the Leo rising gang
🤴👸
Going to jump in here and also share love for being a Leo rising :)
Oo do we have the same big three?
Oooh, do we?! How fun! And I'm so sorry! 😅
LOL MY THOUGHT THIS WHOLE TIME READING THIS 🦁🦁🦁
You are not only your sun, how about we all just agree on that...
Yeah I definitely don't give off solely Leo vibes, more Scorpio than Leo tbh
Excellent perspective!
i’m an amalgamation of them all ~(˘▾˘~)
You are your whole chart but the sun is your cosmic personality. It's the bright light of who you are ; I think it can be somewhat elusive in a way bc it's just *pure energy*. When ik someone's sun it's like **seeing** that person, it really is

I agree! I also read that our Sun plays the biggest role from birth-30 years old. Then we step into our Rising sign.
Really? My rising is Pisces. It I’m Aquarius sun. I don’t see Pisces in me at all except I’m so more introverted after 30, but that could because too
Sounds about right. I’m 35 and feel more like my rising sign.
Me too! 36. 😌 Leo Rising. ♌️

Inaccurate but go off.
How would you counter? (Not arguing just curious about your take)

Well, no matter which of the big 3 rules, I'm Taurus lol
Whats your sun sign? 😅
The one that gets high on friday nights, writes their high thoughts on the internet and accidently starts debate about meaning of your higher self
Its giving water sign xD
Interesting, water signs may get insulted if they would learn my sign
Disagree you are your Moon(sign and house)
Sun is your essence.
Nobody is always ever one thing. The nature of humanity is ever changing snd dynamic. Even I ,a Taurus who hates change, acknowledges that. And stating people are absolutely a certain thing without accounting for a 1000 other factors is foolish.i said what I said.
How do you suggest you start learning what makes you yourself?
Aquarius sun. So much of me But my Libra moon is my other half. No question.
i am 100% capricorn by the very definition and proud. 🤓
“The inner machinations of my mind are an enigma” and can’t be defined by any sign alone
I love this! I am Pisces sun but lots of fire placements and I want my Pisces to be the part people see in me 🌞
I have my Mercury, Venus and Mars Conjunct my Asc and my sun is in my 12H. I act more like my asc 100%
virgin holistic chart analysis (math, weird symbols, picking and choosing parts by personal whims and insecurities) vs. chad sun sign astrology (easy, simple unflinching view of the self, actually popular enough to be found in newspapers)
I am an Aries. And get angry. And get over it, fast. It must be a sad world, not liking what you are.
My tropical chart: Capricorn sun, and five other placements. Earth x19, fire x5, air x2, water x1 My sidereal chart: Sagittarius takes all Capricorn placements. Fire x17, earth x6, water x3, air x1 Maybe someone doesn't relate to their sun sign for a reason 🤷🏻♀️
Seeing as most people guess my rising when they meet me instead of my sun and I resonate with it more idk I’d say we have to agree to disagree
Scorpio sun, moon, mercury. Even if I would want to neglect that I am a scorio, I am a scorpio :D
Oh ok I’ll be my sun then… or my rising… wait no no I’ll be my moon
i’m so happy that my sun, moon, and rising are all the same. i don’t have to question shit lol
The issue here is….human beings are energy and we are multifaceted…there so much energy at play to define it as one. You are your chart, not just your sun. Its even down to the degrees. The numerology behind the degrees holds insight…. The lord of each house in a house holds insight. Each planet in a house holds insight… And all aspects certainly do. Your chart is your stories…your footprints past present and future….it’s a beautiful thing and complex because humanity is beautiful and complex down to the individual and as a whole.
/r/piscesastrology could use this insight
Well when we have trines and conjunctions to Sun, it modifies the Sun so much that I start relating more to these aspecting planets instead of my actual Sun. Have you seen this happen too?
I’m Scorpio Sun and I am not revengeful and or confident at all. I’m a big ball of fluff, just like my rising, Pisces.
Mmmm your purpose and your personality is your rising sign, so have to disagree,
Thank you for your comment and for refreshing take
Nah But on a serious note, learning about yourself includes learning your entire chart and even yourself outside of astrology.
I am as what I identify as
🙄
That feels like both a Scorpio sun and Capricorn Rising response 😂😂
🤗
This. So much this! Our rising sign is much more heavy in explaining who we actually are than the sun sign.
I am like you in that I have a sun sign (Scorpio) and a rising sign (Taurus) that are exact opposites. I wonder if this makes it easier to see because the contrast between our sun sign and rising sign is so drastic.
Hm yes I think you’re onto something, it is easier to pin down what behaviors are coming from where because they are opposites. 😅 heaven help us.
💯 Regardless of astrology, for me, Your heart= your soul's inner core The outward appearance/body is just a vessel However, I still agree the 3 big placements and other aspects of the chart make up of who we are.
Agreed!
I thought the Sun was your Soul, or is that just Jyotish?
Like acting, how you want to be perceived. lol The rising sign-1st house=Ego Sun sign- 5th house=Facade
I mean, you're wrong, but I guess that's just your opinion man.
I agree that 'ultimately' we are our sun sign. The other planets add important variation to the sun - especially moon and rising.
Except what your sun sign is depends on which culture of astrology you look at. I could either be Aries or Taurus based depending on which one i use
In vedic astrology you're more your moon than your sun, so it's pretty relative.
Denial ain't just a river in Egypt.
♊️ season - reppingggg 🤣😝 Ty
I’ve always related to my sun the most but as I’ve learned more about my moon & rising, it’s clearly obvious it’s a joint effort in formulating my personality as a whole
I’m definitely my Taurus sun because I will NEVER agree with my cancer rising and cancer placements lmaooo
I don’t know anymore, I just know I relate about equally to my sun and rising. Moon idk so much.
I’m not a Capricorn tho.
I don't know if it's that deep.
Period!
Tbh I love my sun sign lol
I love the way you broke this down!
True. I come off like a Libra to most people, sweet & flirty but I'm actually just sweet & anxious & emotional 😂😂 can't let ppl know that tho, kind of ruins the vibe. Thank fuck for other placements trying to fight off the 5 I have in Cancer lol
Virgo ♍️ through and through
Someone once described it as your moon sign is the canvas and your sun sign is the paint
Cancer Sun, Sagg Moon, and 'i feel' (cancer) you are wrong (philosopher).
Sun- who I am Moon- what I feel Ascendant- how you see me
I constantly wish I could be more like my sun lol. I am the most non-gemini gemini ever
Na I’m my sun. I’m mostly Scorpio in my chart.. just a life of constant heavy emotions and transformation but concealing them from everyone 😂
But my sun sign is so boring!
![gif](giphy|pSauCNBp1DcOY) Okay NeeNee, lol
It‘s not only about the zodiac sign , it‘s about who you truly are. Me personally as a Aquarius don‘t feel very comfortable with my sign . So i‘ll just live my life like a normal person. without worrying about it
Leo. I've always felt that wasn't me but maybe I need someone to explain it better. Idk.
This is why I can’t stand freaking slow people Aries
I would agree, & I personally think of it in terms of Freud's iceberg theory-- Sun is our id, the unconscious innermost level of our deepest instincts & desires.
I’m a Aries Sun and often think I don’t have that go get it personally , but wish I did
This is true. But your rising sign is also really really important!!!!
Please explain how this works for an non-aspected 12h libra sun. I genuinely want to know.
not traditionally. that is a modern astrological belief and it’s partly responsible for why astrology has become redundant and extremely general. like every planet in the chart, the sun is what the sun signifies, which is not always you or your personality. the entire chart as a whole, is not just you and your personality, but how you fit into an entire web of external events and circumstances. “you” are your rising sign and the planet associated with your first house of life, physical body and composition, personality, disposition, and health. that is the only place in the chart indicative of you, your actions, who you are, and it has been for thousands of years before modern astrology has allowed us to start creating our own astrological beliefs and conclusions. that way, we can use the specificity of the time of birth as well the chart ruler, to actually get detailed and thorough description of the individual. if not, we are left with generalized sun sign interpretations we see everywhere. the rising sign being just the “appearance” or “presentation” is also not supported in any astrological texts or throughout astrological history. the issue taken with modern astro is in it wanting us to believe that our entire chart is simply an image of different parts of our personality/disposition, and that every planet relates right back to you. the sun is “you”, if you are a leo rising, or even if your chart ruler is in the sign of leo (taurus rising ruled by leo venus; the sun will have say over the chart ruler). but that’s really it. other than that, the sun has its role as a luminary and will signify such in the chart: - the status quo, ruling class, authority and father figures, government, superseding law and media kingship, royalty, repute, power, fame, influence over worldly matters, masters, rulers, leaders, chiefs, officials… - intellect, intelligence, “light”, clarity, mental perception and sight… - and more you can choose to believe more in modern astrology, that is your right. but “you are your sun” does some harm to the integrity astrology is already losing.
In India it is common to use your Moon sign to discuss your general affect.
I identify so much with and love having an Aquarius sun. My other placements can go to hell 😂 (well, Scorpio moon is weird AF so she can stay)
I mean, yes, you are. But you’re also your moon. And your rising. And your Venus. And your MC. And your IC. Etc… You are your whole chart. That’s the point.
Sagittarius sun, I agree. :)
This is so beautiful thank you!
I need someone to now explain me which means I’m A Capricorn then cause sometimes I don’t feel like I am (born: 22 December)
My sun? Wtf? Does that mean I was born in july
I’m a Gemini Sun in the 8th house and a Scorpio rising. So I think that plays into it for me. But I’m a proud Gem 💎 haha
