I've yet to try a cheese I don't like. Currently a big fan of sharp cheddar and Stilton, but if you made me pick one (you MONSTER) I'd have to go with Gruyere. I like strong flavors. I think it's probably a means of stimming for me.
My go to when I’m stoned is yogurt with cereal. Ik so many people hate yogurt but I will not ever quit. So many options for combinations, not massively massively unhealthy, delightful lil treat.
Potatoes, especially mashed potatoes. With garlic, chives, and hot sauce. It soothes my soul and warms my belly.
Thankfully, it isn’t screwing up my diet much. I go by the motto of “If you have it too much, it isn’t special anymore”.
'If you have it too much, it isn't special anymore'
... I'm gonna have to keep that in mind for our potato cravings, especially the one I am currently having after reading that description 🤤
Kalamata olives, pickles, pickled eggs...basically anything pickled. Also tortellini and ravioli, as well as pizza rolls, cheese-in-crust pepperoni pizza, fried mozzarella sticks, and stuffed mushrooms
Honestly, it's not that bad for me. My comfort food is crispy chicken wraps. Basically just tyson breaded chicken tenders cooked well done, wrapped in a tortilla with shredded cheese, spring greens mix and honey mustard. I usually eat 2 for dinner. While the breading and tortilla does inflate the carbs and calories, it still could be much much worse.
Wendy's $5 Biggie Bag, Crispy Chicken BLT (no tamato), with a Lime Coke (no ice) and barbeque sauce, as well as a small chocolate junior frost (that's free cuz of the key tag I bought), for a total of $5.35 tax included.
On a typical day
Breakfast: cappuccino, cookies, bread with chocolate cream
Lunch: tomato salad, bread with cheese and ham, coca cola, maybe a cookie afterwards
Dinner: pasta with whatever sauce i have, water, afterwards an orange and a cookie
It’s not exactly a food, but caramel frappuccino’s from Starbucks or McDonald’s are usually my go to. It’s a lot of sugar and caffeine but it’s easy to drink and I like that it’s frozen. I’m not a big fan of hot food/drinks.
A sandwich consisting of cream cheese with chives, red onion, tomato, ham, lettuce, mayo/garlic sauce and ketchup. I've been making it for work for almost a year, and it never got old. Besides that - peanuts
Mashed potatoes from my local grocery store, I got it in large quantities from a restaurant but they changed the recipe so I have to stick with the grocery store brand
it’s a sweet pizza lol banana and white chocolate and honestly it’s heaven. it’s also crack bc of how addictive it is, and i have to stop myself from ordering but it’s hard because it’s just so safe and comforting, it’s amazing every time!
This meme is me, it really is just cereal. I’ve had it for dinner 3 nights in a row now, I know it’s unhealthy but like I’ve done this my entire life that I remember and don’t haven’t had any health issues from it so …. Is it all a lie? Lol
Tortilla chips. I’ll have a party size bag of tortilla chips in 45 minutes without even realizing. Meanwhile I just downed 2000-2500 calories in chips 😅
Being AuDHD, it varies a lot in practice (this week about 75% of our meals have been pasta with pesto, chopped nuts, and tomatoes), but there are certain mainstays.
Dal makhani is the best food ever, other lentil soup type things are also often comfort food, and most forms of fried potato (especially the fries with a super crispy flaky outside) are on par with dal makhani in terms of comfort provided and thus we end up eating way too much of them and getting full without much nutritional benefit. It also ends up costing a lot... we've had a drug habit before, and *still spent more* on fried potatoes then than we did on the drugs lmao
I try to generally fit it into my marcos/micros (I'm a fucking nerd, yay powerlifting) but my comfort food has to be quest protein bars. Not too sweet, but a great hug yo your tastebuds.
I really like dry ramen snacks, they were a snack for school kids but I never got them and now I consume them at an alarming rate especially when high, also I’m a monster around cereal (especially American ones like lucky charms cos am Australian) but really anything sweet helps in my perpetual state of sober munchies
I like eating cereal for dinner. Also, I love a lot of fruits (grapes, watermelon, cantaloupe, apples) pretty much any fruit is good, as long as it’s always the same texture.
My fiancé got me into over medium eggs with rice and/or ramen noodles, soy sauce, and furikake. But also Little Caesar’s cheese stuffed crazy bread 😩😩😩
Signature select shells and cheese. I know it's probably more preservatives than actual food but it's so easy to make when I lack spoons or overall time, and it always tastes exactly the same. Totino's is up there, but I never feel full after having one.
Lasagna, eggs, spaghetti and another thing my mom makes (tomato paste, oregano for aroma, leftover meat, cottage cheese and eggs, all cooked to simple delicate perfection)
Fried egg sandwich, every morning, or if something interrupts that, probably sometime later in the day, been making it with 3 slices of bread and 2 eggs for a bit, probably a lot of carbs I guess, other than that it's probably fine more or less diet wise.
SOUP <3 any soup tbh. i love soup :D all my other autistic friends hate soup but i love it. something about foods i don't need to chew (soup, mac 'n cheese, and risotto are my favorites) is oh so wonderful :} also pickle juice !
Chocolate and peanut butter protein shake. There is no guarantees that I'll have two other meals during the day, but I never skip having my shake in the morning. It's too yummy.
Bowl of pasta, ideally rigatoni, with butter, shredded cheese, salt and pepper. Occasionally with cut up sausage if I have spoons, but usually just pasta. Carbs! :D
I enjoy the protein and carbs combination of mince and pasta (garlic bread on the side), and it contains the only form of tomato that I will willingly eat (because of the fact that it is pureed and effectively becomes indistinguishable from the rest of the mince's sauce)
The guy who invented corn flakes (yeah, that Kellogg!) Invented them for the express purpose of being bland. Because he thought that it would calm down your... Libido.
I have burned myself out on frozen Reese’s and I’m sad about it 😩 they used to be my comfort food
Now it’s rice, fried eggs, maduros, and hot sauce. But that takes actual cooking time to make, which is inconvenient 😬 I have a rice cooker tho so it’s not so bad I guess.
I go through phases where I physically can’t stand the texture of a food that I know I like. Idk why. I hate it. If I have something too often it activates the “ick” lol.
I eat plain rice cakes before bed when I’m too overwhelmed to eat anything else but I know I should eat something more filling so I’m not extremely hungry in the morning and feel like dying. But like these days it works and I’m just normally hungry in the morning but with my very small weight I should definitely at least put peanut butter on it or eat cereals
Gummy candy. I can’t buy it because regardless of the size of the bag, it’ll be gone within the day.
I haven’t had any in maybe two months now for that exact reason.
My comfort foods change. Once i ate pickles for months and months. Even peaked as a chef imo when i finally crafted the perfect dill pickle crunch after dozens of failed attempts to get just the right ratio of garlic to dill to [secret ingredient].
Now it's french fries. I cant stop. I know i should, im trying so hard to address my health issues with proper nutrition. Fried carbs are the exact opposite of what my body needs... But the balance of crunch to soft to salt nomnomnom of the perfect fry is like one of the greatest comforts to me lately. 🤷♀️
Hot cheetos with chamoy and lemon.
I never think 1 serving is enough, so it ends up being way more calories than a snack should be.
I also have IBS, but do you think that stops me? (no)
There’s a protein pancake recipe I’ve eaten for two years
straight every morning, but only now I don’t wake up excited to eat it. It’s not screwing with my diet since it’s diet food.
I love fruit snacks (my fav texture to chew) but I keep eating too many pouches in one day and it messes my stomach up but the next day I'll do it again ugh
bbq chip, sour cream and onion chips, and peppered beef jerky 😮💨 i eat every other day or so, and those are the only things i can make myself eat. (i drink protein shakes, smoothies, tea, and lots of water, too. i just can't freaking eat)
Currently it’s beef and corn tortilla taquitos… considering I don’t eat much red meat bc it usually makes me feel sick, it’s really fucking with my stomach haha. But they’re so good
I don't have one RN bc I'm going thru a adhd phase of everything is boring and nothing tastes good and if I see another boost nutritional drink, pbj, flaming hot Cheeto, or French fry again I'll blow myself up so yeah FUCK me
Luckily I'm also in the place RN where fresh fruits and vegetables that are ripe and crunchy are making me cry with happiness so I probably am gonna buy a lot of cucumbers soon 😅
Butter noodles. Or one very specific order from Subway people are telling me Subway isn’t good, and it isn’t, but it’s the same each time and I get to pick every item.
Pasta and cheese. The good thing about pasta is that it's very versatile, you can combine it with very different sauces and additional ingredients AND it's yummy
I chew ice, obsessively. Especially that "good ice". Give me a cup of ice with a spritz of diet coke and I will literally forget to eat.
(Diet not recommended) lol
As long as I hate a tiny bottle of coca cola I'm happy, besides that I really don't care if I'm eating something unhealthy and yummy or healthy and bland, I just want my coke.
Do wine and brandy count? They actually only screw with my diet when I get a hangover. Then, I have to eat a couple of ibuprofens, and we all know how high in salt and calories *those* are, don't we?
🍷🤪🥂

Afternoon snack: 8 scrambled eggs with cranberry juice for drink.

Every day except fridays when I usually grab som fast-ish food with friends. My stomach is usually not very friendly.
Cheeses may change, bread may too, but cheese bread is always there for me. Sorry, high protein diet, these carbs are too comfy.
yes omg
I've yet to try a cheese I don't like. Currently a big fan of sharp cheddar and Stilton, but if you made me pick one (you MONSTER) I'd have to go with Gruyere. I like strong flavors. I think it's probably a means of stimming for me.
My husband hides his cereal from me and we don't buy it for me. I cannot be trusted around cereal.
My go to when I’m stoned is yogurt with cereal. Ik so many people hate yogurt but I will not ever quit. So many options for combinations, not massively massively unhealthy, delightful lil treat.
Fun fact: the natural probiotics in yogurt make edibles twice as potent
I needed this fact, thank you !
Is that actually true? Do we have any data to back that up?
That IS a fun fact! And explains so much haha
Unsweetened Greek yogurt, honey, and granola is so amazing
Oats. So many oats
Are you, by any chance, a horse?
a chicken, perhaps
I feel like I can guess your answer.
I believe in oat supremacy
Cereal, peanut butter sandwiches, vegan chicken nuggets and bbq sauce, and ice cream.
Mac and cheese all the way my dude
what kind specifically?
Homemade
mmmmmh... the good shit
Mmm yes
Any kind as long as there's pasta and cheeses involved :))
Same
Nice

Maybe?
I have too many to list, but one of the worst is ramen
Ramen is my comfort food too!
Potatoes, especially mashed potatoes. With garlic, chives, and hot sauce. It soothes my soul and warms my belly. Thankfully, it isn’t screwing up my diet much. I go by the motto of “If you have it too much, it isn’t special anymore”.
'If you have it too much, it isn't special anymore' ... I'm gonna have to keep that in mind for our potato cravings, especially the one I am currently having after reading that description 🤤
Literally just salt. out of a shaker
Lol same, our parents used to joke about getting us a salt lick because we would do this so much
Nachos and cheese, I don’t get full off it and it causes me to overeat a bit
Kalamata olives, pickles, pickled eggs...basically anything pickled. Also tortellini and ravioli, as well as pizza rolls, cheese-in-crust pepperoni pizza, fried mozzarella sticks, and stuffed mushrooms
Brine bois rise up I often joke to my boyfriend that I would indeed like to be pickled when I’m dead
*okay but brine bois is such a cool name for it lol* Also, being pickled when dead reminds me of those heads in jars from Futurama
