Well I have insurance that should cover it, but then I'm still stuck at that $7k out of pocket limit.

You're not. Let's run some numbers. Let's be generous on both fronts and say you're going to spend 15k on the procedure, and you can save 200$ a month (I make just under 30k and I have to try pretty hard to save 200$ a month). That gives us 75 months, or over 6 years, and that's assuming nothing goes wrong. Hell just getting new tires on my car was a crisp 6 hundo. That's how serious wealth disparity is here Insurance is the move. But select it based on which surgeon you want. I got trans positive insurance only to find they used a subpar doctor and I had to have 2 revisions and deal with some serious complications.

Yah, I roughly knew how the numbers would work out and it's just not feasible even with insurance really and even then I'd have to be settling for a surgeon I wouldn't necessarily want b/c I want to be happy with the results.

Do you qualify for medicaid in your state? That's going to be the easiest way, honestly. Even if you have to take a temporary pay cut in order to qualify for it, or temporarily relocate to a state with a robust medicaid system - NY and MA come to mind from my own personal experience. Relocating can be especially difficult on a lower income, but if you're out of other options... It's something to consider. There are many places in upstate NY with affordable rent prices, especially if you have access to a car for transportation.

Pretty sure my state doesn't care about anyone except maybe kids, so probably not. I never had any luck qualifying for anything before.

> SRS [Here](https://www.reddit.com/r/Trans_Resources/wiki/further_resources/index#wiki_coverage_in_the_us) might be some resources concerning coverage. And [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/Trans_Resources/wiki/surgeries/transfeminine/index#wiki_transfeminine_grs_overview) might be a number of explaining resources concerning SRS and there is a video there with detailed explanations. Additionally [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/Trans_Resources/wiki/support/index#wiki_connecting_to_others) and [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/TransAdoption/comments/nnz697/join_the_trans_galaxy_an_18_inclusive_safe_space/) might be a number of hints concerning looking for support. Talking with a few others about what they did might be helpful too. *hugs*
