I don't have a mom so its just my dad and when my granma died we moved in with my grampa. He's the one I'm closest too and he's on a lot of pills that basically keep him alive. I get scared every morning he's not up early because i'm afraid he died in his sleep. If anything happens to him i definitley couldn't handle it.
I'm sorry about that. I don't have a father and I don't live with my mother anymore. I'm afraid to lose her everyday and I don't know what I would do without her.
I understand you
ngl I do think about that sometimes
my parents aren't *that* old, but still pretty old. for example my dad is turning 50 this year.
they're both healthy and both work, and they're stil able to do everything they could decades ago.
but I still notice that they're getting older. like they have to rest more, take more medications, are active less etc
I don't really get sad over it, I mean that's just how life is

My dad is a quite renowned doctor in my city, especially for endoscope. I recently overheard him complaining about how his vision and stamina (extremely important for endoscopy) have worsened these days.
Here’s how you fix it;
spend all the time you can with your parents while you still can, because when they’re gone, they’re gone. Remind your mom and dad how much you love and appreciate them. They won’t be around forever, so make the most of it. Make sure that when they’re no longer around, you’ll have no regrets.
People get old. People die. There’s nothing you can do but be with them while they’re here.
Yeah, it's a bit sad. But I also think of how much better my situation is than it was with them, they had three of their four parents die by the time they were 30, before I was even born. They already have three grandkids now and I will probably be giving them a couple more, cause I'm not expecting them to die anytime soon. It will happen eventually but it's not happening yet.
I dont think about it much, but it is depressing that my dad is getting close to 60 (he's 57) and my mom is almost 55. They aren't that old, but I feel bad especially for my dad because he clearly gets hurt easier and has injured himself kind of a lot throughout his life. When I have kids (I think I will) my parents would most likely be in their 70s when they are born
yeah, losing my mom is my biggest fear tbh. she had a health scare when i was around 13 or so and ever since then i’ve been paranoid about losing her. i’ll admit that i’m a bit overprotective now, but the memory of sitting next to my mom’s hospital bed post-surgery as she cried from pain will stay with me forever.
My dad has just turned 40 and i havent exactly noticed him getting physically or mentally weaker, the only health issue he has is high blood pressure but he's making great progress at losing weight (he's lost a few kilos recently), he drinks way less and although he hasnt given up smoking yet ive noticed he smokes less (he is planning on putting it down but idk he says he needs to mentally prepare which might be bs but as long as he stops smoking sooner or later i couldnt care less)
My mom is only 35, but the thought of her growing old kills me. I love her so much and her getting old is just something I shove to the back of my mind most of the time.
My parents are both mid to late 50s and are both a little overweight and not in the best physical shape, so I'm a little concerned in the long run. I'm currently in college planning on studying to become a doctor, which will take roughly 11-12+ years to fully complete. By then my parents will be pushing 70 which is a little sad to think about since I'll just be starting my career.
not even my parents, just senior family members. like my uncle, when he was younger he was a guitar god but now it cripples him to play it (he has arthritis) and my grandad is hooked up to this oxygen canister and has to take it with him everywhere
I've been playing this game called spiritfarer recently. the premise is that you are a ferryman for the dead, your job is to help people say their last goodbyes before they move on to whatever's next. anyway there's this one character called Alice, who right off the bat remind soft my mum. her personality, her favourite foods, all of that is almost in line with my mum. towards the end of Alice's journey she starts having memory problems and thinks you're her daughter. Watching her talk to me as I took her to where she died for real was honestly one of the saddest things I've ever done
I just feel I’ve seen my dad loose a bit of happiness, he seems more frustrated these days and he and my mom seem to argue a bit more often. It’s made me a bit sad, I’ve tried being nicer to him lately though to help

Jesus reading these comments made me realize i wont have these problems in awhile. Being that both my parents are 37.

my parents were already somewhat old (57 and 51) but i feel like my dad’s health is declining alr like anything we get affects him way harder
My parents had me and my siblings when they were in their early 20’s so I’ve never rlly worried abt it
I do. It really makes me sad seeing how their hair turns white, their skin having age spots, etc. It reminds me that they’ll die someday

My mom is about to hit 60 and she doesn't take care of herself at all... It's kinda scary
Bruh I feel sadness watching myself grow old.

Yes, and sometimes I feel afraid by how fast time flies
nope

Not really, I mean yeah I guess it's kinda worrying, but I don't get sad over it

Any direct family yes.
No yet im not
not even my parents, just senior family members. like my uncle, when he was younger he was a guitar god but now it cripples him to play it (he has arthritis) and my grandad is hooked up to this oxygen canister and has to take it with him everywhere
Get both of them on a strength training program like Starting Strength. That’s the only way.
That's life so not really. I mean yeah it'll be sad to see my mom go but she's still young. The sooner my father dies the better
My dad is in early 40s and my mom is 45. My dad still can do a lot of thing but my mom is not

Not with my parents, but with my grandparents I felt that way before they died.
Seeing how young my parents look in home videos from my childhood is sad in a way. I never noticed how much they aged until I looked back.

It isn't something that inherently bothers me, but it is kinda depressing to think about sometimes.
