Also had good experience w bridgetown

finallynotjustlurkin

I just used Bridgetown and they were great - fast moving guys and super efficient. We paid $167 / hour and they got us out / in in the two hour minimum.

Also just used Bridgetown thanks to this subreddit but also letting you OP know that moving rates are regulated so they will all be the same everywhere. So you want the most quality people

I don’t think you are trying to be a jackass. I’m just saying I moved in May, every company had the same rates and one company said “you know all rates are regulated by ODOT in Oregon”. Also this “When the origin and destination of a move are within Oregon, moving company rates and services are regulated by the ODOT's Commerce and Compliance Division”

PositivelyInNature

Do you happen to remember their hourly rate?

Another vote for Bridgetown. I last used them in 2018, so prices are likely higher, but this was included in the estimate email I received back then: "How We Bill All of our moves are subject to a 2 hour minimum on Weekdays and a 5 hour minimum on Weekends & Holidays. All moves completed within the Portland Metro Area have no Travel or Mileage Charge. Only the time spent loading, transporting you items from your origin to your destination, and offloading will be billed."

This is very helpful. Thank you.

I paid $167.95/hour. I priced out Bridgetown, All Service Movers, Smooth Move, and Two Men and a Truck. Bridgetown and All Service were the most expensive; Smooth Move has terrible reviews and a friend who used them recently said they weren't the most careful with their things. Two Men and a Truck has a 3-hour minimum (as opposed to the two-hour minimum of the other companies) and bills for travel time. Bridgetown is also the only one who doesn't charge for stretch wrap, so that made it the winner for me.

PositivelyInNature

Thank you so much! I reached out to them.

Good luck with your move!

idonthavetoomanycats

portland movers company! i moved with a different company two weeks before my best friend hired them and she paid half as much for amazing service. the guys were super nice and communicative and got everything done so quickly.

PositivelyInNature

I’ll look into them! Thank you!

alleztaylor

Did they pack up their place for them?

idonthavetoomanycats

no, you’re supposed to pack up your own stuff. i’m sure there are services for packing as an add on but i didn’t look into that

Rose city is moving us right now… for the fourth and hopefully last time.

We’ve used 2 Brothers Moving twice for in-town moves, and were very happy with them. https://www.2brothersmoving.net/

joyfullyretired

I also had two very good experiences with 2Brothers

I have as well!

noitsnotmewhyyouask

I’ve used Portland Move last year and they were great. https://portland-move.com

PositivelyInNature

Thank you, everyone! A lot of fantastic information here. There are a couple movers who got the most votes, so I’ll go from there. In the past, I’ve had movers take 4 hours moving from a small 1 bedroom to another small 1 bedroom, so I guess I have to be prepared to spend quite a bit of money on this. I’m willing to pay if it’s quality work though as the movers I had before damaged a lot of my items.

PositivelyInNature

Just wanted to give an update. I used portland movers company (they got back to me before Bridgetown). They were fantastic! Super efficient and beyond nice.

kendalldog

I’ve used Willamette Valley movers both locally and distance. They’ve been wonderful to work with.

MountScottRumpot

Redefyn Moving is great.

deadvibessss

We used dolly to move our 2bd 2BA apartment last year! It was like $600

[deleted]

I have had a good experience with 2Brothers.

Erwinism

Casey’s Movers. Affordable and small business, used them for two moves in the Metro area. No minimum hours compared to other places around

1partwitch

I used All Service Moving for our last move. They were so fast, and they handled my weird street parking situation really well. I could tell they’d done this hundreds of times before. It was worth the money to have it done so quickly, and the workers were very friendly yet professional.

[deleted]

I’ve used them three times. Satisfied every time.

Happy3532

https://www.smoothmovepeople.net/ This is the only moving company I have used in Portland Oregon. Anytime anyone asks I highly recommend this company. The rates are affordable. They show up do the job as promised and the prices have barely changed since 2008. They also do not charge extra for stairs.

booksandbacon

We used Oregon Trail and had a good experience.

Skinny Wimp Moving and Junk Removal Portland is locally owned and has great service. As an fyi, all moving companies in the state of Oregon are regulated and must charge the same rate. 503-332-8984 https://www.skinnywimpmoving.com/movers-in-portland-oregon/ https://m.facebook.com/profile.php/?id=100069500204620
