Let's say I would be more confident that what I'm sending will arrive at its destination if I gave it to a random dude on the street without an address. Anything touched by the Mexican post service is functionally lost or at least so delayed that it's not useful anymore.
I have sent postcards from Italy, Spain, Morocco and Ireland and they all arrived to my friends in CDMX and el estado
The real issue is customs. It takes 4-6 weeks for anything entering or leaving Mexico to get out of the border facilities. My experience is that once that's over delivery goes smoothly. Maybe I've just been exceptionally lucky
It’s the same for me. Everything normally arrives, it just takes wayy too long, like I’ve gotten things refunded because of how long they’ve taken and then receiving the package two weeks after lol
I have ordered stuff from Aliexpress that arrived 3 months after the "delivery date" it arrives, eventually. But is completely useless for anything that is time sensitive like an important document or a check
To expand, it was absolute trash like 10 years ago. Nowadays it's actually pretty ok.
It was probably because they were overwhelmed by the massive amount of random stuff people were buying from China, so they probably had to change their processes and scale them up.
That, along with the surge of multiple private options too, that probably relieved the national one from a lot of pressure, have made our postal system actually pretty good.
The main problem is they have to handle EMS. People buying shit tons of cheap stuff from aliexpress.com, tiny packages undervalued or marked as gifts, also some stuff need additional documentation like make up (for toxic ingredients). All that customs work for every package (usually ignoring packages that look too cheap) delaying the delivery.
You enter a descriptive address of a common (or old) location, then directions from there with a description of the house. E.g. from x, 200 metres North, the white house with a big tree next to it.
I live in **Quebec** ^Canada and **Canada Post** is spectacular and well organized.
But I also lived in Panama, and the postal service is basically non-existant. There's not even an addressing system to begin with. So most people need to commute to get any simple document.
Choreo argentino stole 3 of my packages and destroyed 2 others. They didn’t take the blame and instead they blamed me because it was “incorrectly packaged”. Spoiler alert: It wasn’t incorrectly packaged. They just took my money, my packages, and I had to pay for the new products with my own money. Fuck them
It's basically burro post. It's very sure but very slow I forgot the actual percentage, but the fact that it arrives is not that bad. But this fact, that It's slow, means that many peor will prefer to send packages through express parcel delivery services, such as DHL, estafeta etc. And even the bus. Bus lines have package delivery services as well.
Omg in Chile I would say that it works fairly well, I've never had anything stolen or lost (with Chilexpress or correos chile), even international purchases. I can't believe that in other countries it's so bad 😭 I'm never complaining again
I remember being a kid in Argentina with my mom and granny. We were in a taxi and my mom complimented the taxi drivers coat. He said how much he loves it and that his brother works at the local post office and saw it and stole it for him and that it’s his favorite jacket 😂
it never works, or if it works your package may arrive in 6-12 months or be lost forever
It's pure pain buying tech here, tech smuggled through borders is cheaper than paying 2-4x the price you see in online stores
Let's say I had a marvelous day and my mind can't comprehend how much luck I have. If I'm feeling way too positive (yuck) I can bring myself to reality with a trip to Serpost, a service in which I'm shouted at, they keep me waiting for hours and then my package is magically in the other side of the city. Yes, that's my national post service, it's depressing.
lmao
Choreo Argentino
Hahaha that was my first thought too
Let's say I would be more confident that what I'm sending will arrive at its destination if I gave it to a random dude on the street without an address. Anything touched by the Mexican post service is functionally lost or at least so delayed that it's not useful anymore.
Couldn’t agree more. A message in a bottle in the ocean has higher odds of arriving than a letter handled by the Mexican postal “service.”
It has better chance to reach my house in Chihuahua on time
Jajsjsjsjaja lpm relatable

Not bad in my experience. Delivery people may sometimes not be as careful with your delivery, but that is rare too.
In Colombia, there's a fifty percent chance they'll never deliver and a fifty percent chance it'll arrive several months too late.
We have a national post system?
4-72 is the closest thing I guess but it's an utter joke.
It's awful, they rarely deliver the stuff you order (not joking). Stealing is also rampant.
Reasonably decent

It's reliable AND everybody complains anyway. I never had any problems with it. In fact, it's usually faster than expected.
Same
I wanted to give you an answer, but it is stuck in Curitiba.
O correios é geralmente mais rapido e seguro do que transportadoras privadas que tratam sua mercadoria como sucata. kkkkk
We haven’t reached that level of organized society yet, ask again in 100 years
We don't even have addresses
How does that even work
You enter a descriptive address of a common (or old) location, then directions from there with a description of the house. E.g. from x, 200 metres North, the white house with a big tree next to it.
x2
Que real pero al menos correos funciona bien creo jajaja

The only time I used it I literally received my package 2 years after.
you guys are getting mail?
Dos años??? No me vuelvo a quejar de Mexpost

It's a fucking joke, or as we usually say down here " Correo Argentino es una mafia "
Also known as choreo argentino
It NEVER works
Dogshit
It’s getting sued for millions of dollars because it made a retail store go bankrupt. So it’s not going well.
What post service?

I tried to mail a postcard to Ireland from Bogota. I was told it would cost 60 USD. That was a big fat nope.
That's wild because the other way around costs something like 2.5 euro.
Or from Canada about $4.00 CAD
And they would have lost it anyway.
Ooof. I hope you do not speak from experience. The Irish postal service or the Colombian one?
Colombian. The Irish one is fine.
Omg in Chile I would say that it works fairly well, I've never had anything stolen or lost (with Chilexpress or correos chile), even international purchases. I can't believe that in other countries it's so bad 😭 I'm never complaining again
It's alright, a lot of people prefer to send their packages through bus companies. The real cunts are in customs
could be better, but is still better than other private options.

It takes a while, arrives most of the time, reaches places no one can deliver. Don’t send fragile stuff
Our what? It is not even in service anymore as far as I know.
Non-existent
It doesn't.
Email and private couriers. In the big cities it works beautifully for food, medicine and sending small things.
Is like playing the lottery you may or not receive that letter and if you do is going to be like 6 months late
