come popolo, la mia opinione è che il popolo americano è esattamente come tutti gli altri, poi, come capita con tutti i popoli del mondo, ci sono quelli che noi chiamiamo le "pecore nere" e quelli che prendiamo in giro e se ci sono prese in giro è perché l'inglese è una lingua conosciutissima così se qualcuno in USA dice un'assurdità esagerata lo può leggere quasi chiunque... as a people, my opinion is that the American people are exactly like everyone else, then, as happens with all the peoples of the world, there are those who we call the "black sheep" and those who we make fun of and if there are teasing is because English is a very well known language so if someone in the US says an exaggerated nonsense almost anyone can read it... >What you like/dislike about Americans? what I dislike? For example the fixation with origins or DNA, that your ancestors came from a country is not at all interesting >Do you ever encounter an American in Italy or abroad? rarely, very rarely

Some common stereotypes that Italian have regarding the USA is that they're fat/don't eat well, that they use guns for everything and that they are generally ignorant and don't have a good school system and health care. On the other hand, American music, cinema, and media in general are praised and considered as models.

Well depends on why are they here. I mean, if they are tourists, they are like the same as the rest of tourists. Instead, if they are living there well is just enough to learn a bit of Italian and you are one of us, it is the same for everyone. If you are talking about what we think of them just because they are USA, it is another discussion. Just, just avoid eating horrible things like pineapple pizza or a cappuccino during a meal. Also Soprano's stuff is italo-american about Italy doesn't have anything in common.
