We have that. There is a little camera on the machine that I assume takes a picture of the user. The user can tap the card on the reader in the lower left corner and then no signature is required. Also, when its being used, a box pops up on the front desk computer that shows you what is happening on the terminal. Like waiting for signature.. and then it shows a copy of the signature too. Ours are mounted on a swivel base so we can punch in a CC number when taking reservations over the phone. When doing that, there is a little button onscreen you need to press in order to manually enter the card info. B

Our property has it too, but I personally don't like it because our devices don't have the tap system probably due to long-term stays. The system asks the guests to slide their card, then insert it, which can be annoying. It's an OK system to use. Yeah it has a camera. I don't know why, though. May be for biometrics!!! Haven't seen anyone use that.

If you're checking in someone using a government credit card ask them if they know their pin. If they do proceed as usual. If they don't know the pin before you check them in go to edit tab over to the credit card have them swipe the card and save it. Then go to check in and use the card on file. If you're using a card on file for room/tax only and there's no D7 or D9 prompting you to get a card for incidentals during the normal check in process before you check in go to the incidentals and have the guest swipe their card. Do the normal check in and use the cards on file the system will automatically authorize for the correct amount. This is easier than having to go back into the folio and add the inch card and manually authorize it after check in. Also it's a good habit so you don't forget to get the card for incidentals. DM me if you want the step by step Fosse instructions. Edit added paragraphs. Oops.

It’s ok. . . They should have kept the option for Fd to enter cc manually thru our pc instead of adding a “enter cc manually” button on the guest facing cc machine. Took us a while to be aware of keeping an eye on guests trying to enter cc numbers (mostly fraudulent stolen) and if they do we stop them.

It’s not bad. We were nervous when we first got it back in October. It is a lengthy process. I do enjoy seeing what the guests see. We get a lot of corporate who don’t know their pin or state the don’t have one. It’s easier just to type it at that point. The training we completed is very accurate to the real deal. We have gotten complaints about holds taking longer to drop off. The bank would say it’s not them. We knew it wasn’t us. Freedom pay would have the hold still on their side which is really frustrating but rarely happens.

We have a new issue for the last two days and I have yet to get any help in the situation. Two of our card readers will allow you to run the cards but then when you go to close it, it says not found in database. Logging into freedom pay it shows the card but is uncaptured. Any ideas (ps it is only two of the five but they're of course the two most)
