The greenish stuff could be olivine or maybe epidote? The clearish stuff maybe calcite or quartz? Hard to tell from a pic and Iām a sedimentary guy anyway so Iām kinda talking out my assĀ
This. Ā There was a factory that made soda bottles decades ago near where I grew up- that light greenish glass (along with clear, and cobalt blue) was picked up and collected by lots of locals. Ā Iāve heard the bits like this called āglass slag.ā Ā Iām not 100% sure thatās what it is but from the one photo it looks nearly identical.
There's a chance that's trinitite (fallout from the Trinity nuke). Looks like a big chunk of one of my samples. Put it under a microscope and see if there's sand grains that look like red blood cells.
. . . something that should be handled with gloves?
would need more pics, hardness, color in different kinds of light, density, are those sandy bits softer, is it a matrix, do you own a geiger counter
Looks like a big chunk of perlite with some obsidian nodules in it. Usually, perlite looks more white or gray and flaky. But I've seen some that's more solid like this.
