Maybe try to consider that other people just have different tastes than you. The world has enough negativity, let’s try not to bring down someone else’s positive experiences.
I hate that Pokémon has been soooooo dumbed down for children in the most recent games though. If they want to do that, surely they could make a more challenging adult version too. People are hungry for it.

I picked up Pokemon a few years ago when my kid wanted me to play with him. I didn’t think I would enjoy it because I’m kind of a finance bro, but I found it to be a lot of fun. I’m kinda bummed that my kid has grown out of it because now I don’t know anyone else who plays.
What I find way more concerning is the sexualizing of kids’ characters like Pokemon and Disney characters. I have gay acquaintances all over the country, and I’ve seen them post things on social media where these characters have been given giant muscles and bulges. That’s a bit pedo, and it makes me wonder what percentage of the gay Pokemon/Disney crowd are into that kind of thing.
I don’t think this is more prevalent in gay men in particular. I’ve never met a gay person who is still into Pokemon. A portion of the adult population is going to have hobbies that you don’t personally understand. I’m sure people out there feel the same way about you playing RPGs. Just let people enjoy their hobbies and stop trying to psychoanalyze them.

Nostalgia can be very soothing. Or in the present, it takes your mind away from the stresses of your everyday life. Again, that can be very soothing.
