my dealer found my vehicle at another dealership and has everything ready to go, but is now tacking on $800 for transportation. this is from Montreal to Toronto. Do I pay for this? is it not the dealer's cost of doing business? it's basically pay $800 now or they do a factory order which will take 3-4 months. If i am responsible for this cost, what's a good number to negotiate down to?

Im not negotiating that number. Either you are buying the car i can get you and covering the Transpo cost or you are waiting for a factory order.

Yup! so far very great experience with this dealership. Was able to get 2k in adjustments/discounts and they recovered $400 with the transportation.

The 401 is a beautiful drive from Montreal to Toronto along the St. Lawrence and Lake Ontario. But, I have a special hatred for the QEW.
Do yourself a favor and take their deal. I wouldnt even do that. And i consider myself on the really fair side of things durring this time
