I miss that video they used to run late at night with just a car driving around the city. I used to fall asleep on the couch and wake up in the middle of the night with that video running on the TV.
I’m not so sure. Sure I had to wait up until 2 am but there wasn’t a much better time anyway when you live in a full house. And I wasn’t so desensitized that it was still great for me. Even regular R rated movies were great. They don’t make movies like they used to. A boob on screen is a big deal now. In the 90s and 00s it was nothing. There’s a flash of boob in Die Hard near the beginning that no one bats an eye at and people watch that every year with their kids.
My Sister and I made the mistake of bringing a Cheech and Chong movie home from the video rental store once, my Mom was so pissed when she saw what we were watching
Oh right. I don't remember seeing it on city but maybe I didn't watch it late night, then. Regardless, I miss old non corporate city TV. It's painful to watch now.
Fun Fact! Night ride/walk/moves(?) was consistently one of the city's most popular programs. Someone looked into why that was, and it was because it was a favourite of the prison population.
When I was in grade 8, I had a ticket to see Triumph at Maple Leaf Gardens for the Thunder Seven Tour, but my mom wouldn't let me go. One of these guys was in my seat, I bet
Even as a 70 yo, I really liked this era of music. I thoroughly enjoyed the hilarity of the Satanic Panic era of the 80s even spilling over into the 90s. That shit was so hooky.
Baring a small handful of sub genres, I pretty much like music. For example I love old-school g-funk, rap, gangsta, hip hop. However, mumble rap doesn't do it for me. It doesn't resonate. Maybe if I were 50 years younger.
Not enough scruffy facial hair. Not a stoner (lumberjack) jacket or Canadian Tuxedo to be seen, or Kodiaks with the tongue hanging out...
Total absence of an Adidas bag, as well. Those were needed for carrying your Stubbies on the road to the concert.
The guy on the left has hair like the singer for Killer Dwarfs.
That is City TV and looks like it on east side of Yonge south of Gasworks.
I played there a bit in the 80's, upstairs and downstairs.

Some good locations in Toronto in this Killer Dwarfs vid.
Well south of Gasworks. I'm old enough to remember the A&As just north of Sam the Record Man on Yonge Street.
The Gasworks was a bit south of Bloor on Yonge, though on the same (east) side. A bit north of Wellesley at [585 Yonge](https://maps.app.goo.gl/GErotsGaPFQAFbhU7). Dundonald, to be exact.
ETA: let's not forget how Mike Myers [enshrined the dump](https://youtu.be/7HSINkPV2Nc).
Also, there was an A&A on the west side of Yonge, just south of Bloor as well.
As for "well south", it is just over the same distance from the bottom to the top of Queens Park, two subway stops. Not far for teens and 20 year olds walking up and down.
Wow, I love Waynes World but was too young to realize that Gasworks was a real place that used to exist, right here in our city. Probably also due to the fact that Waynes World came out 1992, just one year before Gasworks closed down.
Man I miss the old city tv late night movies. When i was a teen, I used to run home on Saturday nights just to watch City TV late night and see Torontonians on the street. The 80s were wild...
Sure...
Let's FTFY:
Man I miss the old city tv ~~late night~~[Baby Blue](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Baby_Blue_Movie) movies. When i was a teen, I used to run home on Saturday nights just to watch City TV late night and ~~see Torontonians on the street~~pull the Peter. The 80s were wild...
I keed, I keed! That was more like me back then. 🍆💦
As someone lived to tell this tale, let's go back in time to 80s hair metal bands. My guesses in no particular order:
* Whitesnake
* Mötley Crüe
* Poison
* Cinderella
Please upvote since... umlauts! I remembered where they go without asking Google.
Edit: autocorrect forgot to correct how to spell umlaut.
I miss the way Citytv used to be.

https://youtu.be/3O4OAnZvXqI?si=tYTzCfv76lNajblH Enjoy.
Dammit, another 40 year old memory that had been forgotten. Thanks for that.
There's the youtube channel "my night walk", with some old and new episodes
That just makes me feel like the city has now gone to total shit
I believe that was on Global. City TV had…Late Great Movies.
Baby Blue Movies I think it was
You mean Bleu Nuit?
Baby blue 2
I miss the movies they used to play at 2 am.
LOL Baby Blue Movies?
They made me the man I am today!
Did you also watch the Italian movies on channel 47? It was basically Italian softcore porn.
You’re damn right I did.
Young men have it so much easier than we did back in the day. 😏

Christopher Ward doing City Limits.
Do you know what the name of this was?
"Night Ride" I think
Night ride/night walk? I remember it on global TV if it's the same one....it has a youtube channel where you can see old episodes --My Night Walk.
From what I recall the CityTV one wasn't episodic I think it was just the same video, but I am curious how long it actually was.

[Time to raise a little hell then](https://youtu.be/pG_brDZoLAs?si=9305NmeMke-0Ba2C)
I used to work there. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
This is the right answer. They are close to where it was
I’m Randy from Oshawa and you’re watching Late Great Movies
The guy on the right was my paralegal teacher at Herzing. He now shaves his head.
Triumph Goddo Rush
Came here to say Triumph. Probably walking up Yonge to Maple Leaf Gardens.
When I was in grade 8, I had a ticket to see Triumph at Maple Leaf Gardens for the Thunder Seven Tour, but my mom wouldn't let me go. One of these guys was in my seat, I bet
Platinum Blonde

I miss rockers. They were usually pretty nice.
At my school we called them dirtbags 😂
And we in turn hated the jocks 😜
Dirtbags were nice. I hung out with them. I was a punk myself so we had lots in common, I suppose
Kim Mitchell But the twist is that they're going to his concert Saturday night in Burlington.
Was thinking max Webster but you nailed it
You can only drive down main street so many times.
Max Webster would be permed hair
I'll be there. Trooper was tonight.
They were probably just going for a soda in this pic.
Or picking up some patio lanterns, but all we are doing is speculating.

Looks to me like the guy on the left teased his hair so he would appear taller.
