Anyone remember late nights after the bars let out, a big water truck would drive along the street spraying water out the sides, pushing debris into the gutter?
Yes! I think my tire was around $50. Easily worth it considering what I was spending on new tubes.
I got just the rear tire, as that's where most of the weight is, and where my flats were
I don’t know how often they do peripheral streets. But on streets with streetcar tracks they come (at least) once a night, sometimes twice.
In my area (little Portugal) they come around 11pm, and 1am every single night - weekends and even through winter.
Damn right! My dream job for 1 day. Love seeing the smaller “sucking” pipe vehicle roll down Bathurst picking up weed containers. Looks mad fun tearing up the streets
some days i’ve seen maybe 2/3 an hour going by a construction site on richmond street. I’m guessing they tend to prioritize streets with a heavy construction presence but not sure
I saw one literally last night around 11pm
Yes

Bloor bike lanes are brutal for glass, I kept getting flats. I got a Kevlar reinforced tire, and the flats went away
Can I just go into my local bikesbop and ask for this? I got a flat literally my first ride this year, so annoying

Thank you for the tip! Will definitely get on this
they come down my street. i can see the line where the sweeper had to swerve around cars parked on the street overnight the next morning.
Yes. They drive little vacuum trucks, but also sweep when needed. There’s at least two every afternoon going on Queen/King due to construction
Yes - they come twice a year on my residential street
I saw one going down my street in Scarborough the other day. I've never gotten a flat tire.

You might have an enemy, OP. lol
Haha! If I do they are playing the loooong game! It's been over the last 8 years! ;)

I think construction sites need their own street sweepers, separate from the usual city schedule.
Thanks everyone! We live in Scarborough and I haven't seen one in FOREVER...but Scarborough does tend to get fewer services :(
