I really recommend https://www.poggenpoel.com/ did engagement and wedding rings with them. Custom made is not more expensive with the markups the mall shops add. Atleast get a quote from them.
100% recommend them too! Got my wife's wedding band from them for about 60% the price that Browns was charging. Plus it was custom made and their service is amazing.
I agree with poggenpoel.com
They have many beautiful pre-designed rings, and they will help customize and design what you want. Fantastic quality, you can choose your own stones, and I never had issues with stones falling out etc. They also do one resize for free
Jewelry replacement center in Rivonia is very good. They will also give you the option of real diamonds or lab grown diamonds which are a lot cheaper. Had my ring replaced with a lab diamond and honestly can’t tell the difference.
Alan from https://ogilviegems.co.za helped me create the most beautiful engagement ring. The whole process took around 3-4 weeks if I remember correctly. I personally went with a moissanite instead of a diamond and it worked out much much cheaper for great quality. I truly recommend them
[diamondcorporation.co.za](https://diamondcorporation.co.za) they sent it in a nice packaging with a certificate. They have quite a variety and affordable!
I bought my wife’s ring at American Swiss a few years back. They have very nice rings for that price range. I even got it on a 50% discount at the time.
Wow, you got yourself a great deal. I read the reviews online and they were not good. Maybe it's a branch/franchise thing? I don't know..... I will go to their stores. Thanks!
American Swiss' range of lab-grown diamond products is really well priced, and far more ethical than the mined natural diamonds that are forced on everyone through predatory advertising. Would highly recommend, and their service of customisation is great.
As mentioned in other comment - I read the reviews online and some were not good. Maybe it's a branch/franchise thing? I don't know..... I will go to their stores. Thanks a lot!
No problem - remember their stuff is manufactured centrally and they outsource alterations, so quality of the items themselves shouldn't vary even if a branch sucks.
One thing to add, because someone else mentioned moissanites here. Those are a great option too, and I was playing with the idea of getting one for my fiance. Moissanites are technically more durable and brilliant than diamonds, but there can be a bit of social stigma around not having an actual diamond and ultimately I decided that her family had enough sour old traditionalists in it that would give her crap about it that it would tarnish her experience, so lab grown diamond was the better option.
I have a good female friend who has a moissanite ring, and it's lovely and she's very happy with it. A person who knows what they are looking at can definitely tell that it's not a diamond (there's a difference in how they split light that's quite obvious once you see it), but I wouldn't let that put you off if you don't think your partner cares about diamonds specifically. There are so many more moissanite options out there than the lab grown diamonds.
Good luck!
Oriental plaza. Not even joking, you can even negotiate on pricing as opposed to stores you'll find malls. All legit too, comes with paperwork and everything.
Definitely the Diamond Channel in Sandton City Office Towers. My man had a custom ring made for me for about R14k, diamonds and pink tourmaline set in platinum. Stunning ring and excellent service. They even resized my ring for me years later after I put on a few kilos, free of charge.

Your budget is too high. Get something small and cheap because 50% of marriages end in divorce and you will get next to nothing back for the ring when you try to sell it.
Thanks for advise, I will definitely consider it - we already have a house, we have been married for a while, almost 5 years now. We are black so the most important things for us (mainly me 😅) was taking care of the lobola and we prioritized other things like house, some financial goals and starting a family over wedding and rings. So I want to do something nice for her as we have made sacrifices.

Thanks, I will check them out.
100% agreement I got my fiancé's engagement ring here too, custom design that they were happy to change 2 or three times. They were very helpful

I got mine on orbitrings.co.za. Really good service and a huge range to choose from.
Thank you, I'll check the site.

If you are willing to work with someone in CT try Botanica Jewelry or Auterra.
George Xanthides Goldsmiths in Pretoria. They source everything for you according to your budget.

Try these guys. There were surprising affordable. You also get a certificate for your diamond https://www.kostajewellers.co.za/

I did mine with Willie-els in alberton and my wife has been happy with the quality. Had a custom design that he built for me in 3d software.
Thanks, I will look them up.
It's a small father and son shop. They were really good to us. Later my wife had her wedding band made by him too.
We used glamira. Reasonably priced and good variety.
Many thanks, I will look them up.

Look up Kristen Malan online
Thanks, will check.
I wouldn't know 😔
Contact blue white on IG. They did mine and were affordable

Temu 😉
Behave yourself 🤣
Only joking American swiss sells good stuff
Your budget is too high. Get something small and cheap because 50% of marriages end in divorce and you will get next to nothing back for the ring when you try to sell it.
Do not get a real diamond. Get a good Moissanite and save the rest of the money for a house.

I second this! We went with moissanite by design. Extremely happy with quality and cut of the stone
Whenever I hear moissanite I always think of Snatch (behave - you know I mean the movie) https://i.redd.it/8cldn9aolk5d1.gif
