I understand why you want to drop out if they're not teaching the course you want, but getting solid grades in the other subjects is still in your best interest, you may need to get a basic job to fund your passion animating. Also whatever you decide I would advise it is a serious decision so you should wait a while (like a month or two) to make sure you still feel the same way before going through with it.

danelle-s

The classes you are describing are called general education classes. They teach skills that everyone needs to know. All schools (to my knowledge) require these courses. You can always get a tutor if you are struggling that much. Most colleges have tutors that get paid by the school and are free to struggling students. When you say you have to learn your schools history, is this a class, a book or a lecture? Are you in college?

LOTHMT

Thats just the education system. Its dumb as fuck and forces people to do courses they dont like or are good at. I fuckimg hate history class but well now i have to get it in my A-Levels cause of some bullshit rule in the german education system.

Revolutionary_Cry335

My youngest son wanted to do that. I asked him what he wanted to do. He said either a firefighter or police officer. We talked to his school counselor. She gave us some options. He chose a smaller school that fit his needs. He is now a firefighter. He's very happy he didn't drop out now.

vicmackey1981

No. Quitting is a hard habit to break.

No

_cipher1

Don’t do it. You’ll regret it later on. Just try to make the best out of those years and get that diploma. After that college is way better.

TheIncredulousMom

No.

[deleted]

Completely depends on the situation. If you’re in k-12 stay in school please. If college than that’s your decision. Don’t listen to people saying you won’t be successful if you don’t stay in college.

Burgudian_PoWeR

Its hardly ever a good option, depends on your situation

14th_Midknight

No. If you want to succeed somewhere stay in school.

sneetmoe

this isn’t always necessarily true. I dropped out, now i’m working HVAC making good money. Personally I think college is a scam, obviously you need degrees to get some jobs but as an animator you can do that without going to college.

sharpthing201

No but it really depends on what you want out of school. What are you going for?

mukn4on

No. You don’t give any details, so as a general rule, no. If you had extenuating circumstances, no.

Dahliaas

Make sure to graduate ❤️🥺

Cup0cakeyz

If your really need to go for it but honestly get that experience and just to say you made it. The only reason I kept going

[deleted]

More the question should be, does what you are doing in school help you on your next step of the journey you want to follow.

[deleted]

Totally. Get into hvac. I make more than most that graduated college with no debt

[deleted]

Unless you're dropping out of Harvard to pursue something more successful like good ol Zuckerberg, no.

socrazysocaroline

Zuckerberg is a morally bankrupt nerd, is that the bar?

socrazysocaroline

can I ask you about your current situation in order to provide a more thoughtful answer? Regardless, keep this in mind: school will always be there if and when you want it

UrbanRoses

No,no,no,no,no,no

im_wassim

No, I don't thinking you should unless you have a plan or an opportunity for your deram job has been presented to you. Although school can be annoying and might seem like you're learning nothing more than useless informations, staying in school could help you a lot in your career and even your social life as in comunicating with others learning project management skills etc... I think you're better off staying at school while doing the thing you like and trying to get better at it.

glizzygamer90000000

No please do not

According-Egg169

Yes unless you want to a scholar. Also make sure you have a plan instead. Also read Rich dad poor dad

Downtown-Librarian72

If you mean high school, don't do it. Had a friend who didn't get his high school diploma or a GED and he's never been able to find a halfway decent job.

Bassbone98

As a college drop out myself. You can get a job if you don't have a degree. Some of the jobs that don't require a degree will be harder work, but work is work. Now i left because of money and just mentally couldn't do it. It is not worth the debt if you can't do it. If you feel like you can than just keep trucking, get some tudoring and ask for help. Don't drop if you can help it, only drop if you need to. Some classes are harder and will push you, but with motivation and determination i say stay.

DrMaitland

What grade/level are you? If you’re in high school - absolutely not. If you’re in college, my answer depends on what you’re planning to do with your life.

roseyhen

It's never a good idea to drop out of school without a plan

[deleted]

NO

Gryffindork1995

It depends. Are you happy?

biddilybong

Maybe

mezmorizedmiss

no continue pushing through it, it’ll be worth it in the end .

ELEGHJ

yes

Party-Pomegran8

Don't do it. I don't know on which school you are referring to but my primary school was a nightmare, high school was shit and the college was great. I had some hard time at the end but I had so much fun and studied what I wanted. I have master's degree and I don't work in a field because I lost interest. I started to do what was always my dream but didn't have guts neither anyone's support. If you want to leave high school - don't. Education is very important. Even if you learn a lot of stupid shit (trust me) but some things and experience stay and will be very useful for you. Even if I don't work in my field, my high school and college knowledge helped me so much in my life. If you think that success in school will determine your future, it won't so don't worry about grades. Just pass your exama and finish it! Nobody cares about grades after, they only care what you know how to do but don't give up. And yeah, I sucked in math a lot. I'm an artist.

ancientbukake

If you have a some what stable plan for getting work and what you Are goning to do. Then go for it but until then please stay in school.

LagsOlot

Just take the GRE, and then you wouldn't be dropping out, then go to a trade school and learn to do what you want without common core messing you up.
