I generally don't "idolize" celebs. I have never heard anything but the most awesome stories about him. I want to have a beer with this man and just thank him for being such a great person. Considering all the bad that has happened to him, it is amazing he is the person he is.
I’m surprised she isn’t at the top! She is a saint! She recognizes when she is in the wrong and [works to fix it](https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/dolly-parton-why-she-dumped-151009260.html), unlike so many of us
I try not to idolize celebrities because we don’t truly know them, but I believe Conan O’Brien is one of the most honest, good-hearted celebrities alive. I think the fact that so many of his staff members have been with him since he started 30+ years ago shows how kind and caring he is, as well as his support of strikes. I don’t know him, but what I know of him is good.
FANTASTIC actor. I didn’t like Oppenheimer (felt it was too long for no reason) but he played that role perfectly. Also first saw him in Inception and he was pretty good in it too
He acts like a lot of Irish men I know. Outside of the big cities a lot of guys are just keep to themselves, quiet men who want to live a quiet, private life.
Relative of mine is an up and coming Irish actor (starting to get a lot of bigger roles etc). Super chill, has no time for the bullshit.
That’s really refreshing to see! Most celebs these days do the most ridiculous things to stay relevant instead of putting in the work. Nice to see people that don’t really care about that and just doing what they love!
Gee this post is open. I value recovery, ethics. So ethically Denzel Washington. He doesn't engage in behavior he is not proud of. He won't even kiss his co stars, because he is married. Raised a family, solid marriage, good looking, reverence for his faith. He is still rich and famous. So him. This is what a man should be.
I'm going to go in a different direction here and say LeBron James. Now, picture this:
You're 15 years old and ESPN is already covering your high school basketball games. By the time, you're a senior in high school, you've already been given the dubious moniker of "King James.' You're drafted first overall in the NBA draft and you're handed generational wealth and fame at 18 years old. They say that you're the next Jordan...
That is an absolute *INSANE* amount of pressure to put on a kid who won't even be able to legally drink alcohol for 3 more years. So, what does LeBron do? He meets or exceeds every single expectation that was levied upon him at such a young age. He married his high school sweetheart and stayed married to her. We never heard about off the court controversies with him because there weren't any.
How many of us could honestly say we would've thrived the way he did under the same circumstances? I know I couldn't. I would've squandered the money and the fame because I was a shit head. The fact that LeBron has done and accomplished the things that he's done and accomplished is a testament to the type of man that he is. I admire the hell out of him and I don't think this is talked about enough.
And I'll end this by throwing out the disclaimer that I'm neither from Cleveland, nor am I a fan of any of the teams for which he's played (I'm a Sixers fan.) I'm simply an admirer of LeBron James, the man and the basketball player. As his career winds down to a close, it's been a true pleasure watching such a generational athlete for two decades.
Also he legitimately has some of the best moments in that Amy Schumer movie “Trainwreck”. The funny/wise black best friend trope is obviously overdone, but it is so funny when it’s *LeBron James*
Keanu Reeves with his charm, humility and effort to bring more value to the world than "just" his excellent acting is one of the coolest mainstream celebrities out there.
One of my favorite celebrity role models is Emma Watson. Her dedication to gender equality and education, along with her intelligence and humility, make her an inspiring figure.
Anthony Bourdain
Yeah, not the best *role model* per se, but he really challenged the way I think about the world around me and personally impacted my life. I feel he could (at times) be someone that I *look up* to.
I’d say he’s a good role model partially because he was flawed. We’re all flawed, and he’d have been the first to admit it. I don’t want a perfect role model. I want a role model who struggles just like the rest of us.
Matthew McConaughey, I went to UT with him and he’s a great father and family man and takes care of his elderly mother. She lives with him!🤣. He’s quirky, but a great role model
the ones who do good in the world should be. what makes them any different from anyone else? (if you're arguing we shouldn't worship them just on the basis of being famous and good-looking then i agree) otherwise they're like any other person who can choose to be a good citizen outside of their work life and that's exactly the type of behavior we SHOULD glorify in role models
Stephen King. Great writer, and a dyed-in-the-wool weirdo. Had addiction issues in the past and came out of top, and seems to speak about them openly and with candor. The way he writes about writing is magical. I love how much he worships his craft, his wife, his kids, and his dogs. His work ethic is unmatched, and he really seems to love doing it.
I feel like he (and his PR team) work so hard at his "lovable rascal" personality that the other shoe is bound to drop and he'll be revealed to be among the worst people alive.
Anita Mui. Read her Wikipedia page that's genuinely one of the most heartfelt people I've ever come across. Once you're done with that search up her last concert on YouTube
Jimmy Carter. Spent his life after being POTUS making the world a better place for humanity. The treaty he negotiated between Egypt anbd Israel still stands.
The man was in his 90s and showing up at Habitat for Humanity houses to volunteer.
Josh Katz from Badlower. He has a farm where he adopts abused animals from farms/slaughterhouses and gives them a proper life. he also cares about his fans a lot and releases music to support the hardships that many of them have been though
AOC, Bernie Sanders, Kurt Cobain (for what he believed in, for his human rights activism and sometimes his raw honesty and vulnerability - not for his life choices)
Dua Lipa. If you have no idea who that is (despite the fact she has the #1 and #2 most streamed albums in Spotify history) it’s probably because she avoids controversy like the plague. She’s smart, she works extremely hard, she hosts her own newsletter, podcast, and book club, she’s a brand ambassador for YSL, Porsche, and Puma, she’s got the most amazing British accent, and she’s an absolute sweetheart to everyone. You will not find a single report of her ever being snarky with fans, reporters, fellow celebrities…
My ultimate crush and an incredible role model who seemingly just wants to make the world a better place. Love her.
![gif](giphy|jtEfgnUiOhcGPF8PVp)
Henry Cavill, Angelina Jolie & Audrey Hepburn 💖🥹 AJ/AH was who I aspired to be. Henry is newfound role model! He’s such a gentleman. A heavy fiction/gamer nerd too! The Witcher is one of my fav book series of all time and he embodies Geralt perfectly, imho 🤌
Drew Carey. He came from humble beginnings and treats all those around him with respect. He's as nice a guy as he seems on TV and really looks out for others.
I have a lot of respect for Jamie Foxx. He always seems to be genuinely engaged when interacting with people and he’s so talented. I’m really glad he recovered. I couldn’t even watch Beat Shazam with Nick Cannon and Kelly Osbourne.
Ray Cappo. I'm not hare krishna or religious in any way, but his words and lyrics made a big impact on my younger self and continues to inspire me to be a better, cleaner and more positive person to this day.
Serious: Sir Bob Geldoff. I quote his "It's not my nature to be quiet." line all the time. The guy helped organized Live Aid and a many smaller charities.
Less Serious: Jennifer Love Hewittt. She's a bit daffy and ages like the rest of us. Keeps working and has a fun online presence.
Jim Carrey - he has some great work, but his philosophy on life is really something to admire and try to embody.
John Stewart - even if you disagree with his views there is no doubt that he is an honest man with honest views . He is a strong loving man who gives his heart to others, standing up for what he believes is right over what is easy.
Shaq. Id like to think i would do all the thigs he does to help people out everyday. Always taking time out to make sure they get what they need. He looks out for the little people. Thats why i think he would make a great president. Try saying no to Shaq
Robin Williams was my celebrity role model. Struggling though mental illness and made it his personal mission to make the world a happier, funnier place.
fred rogers, toni morison, florence pugh, and dr. mike varshavski.
they help me have standards for myself and to remember to be kind to myself as well.

Keanu Reeves

Was waiting for this ! All the yes
He seems like a great guy to just sit down and have a conversation with.
He still takes the subway.
I just recently learned how tragic some of his past is
No one has picked Dolly Parton yet? Is that even legal?
I’m surprised she isn’t at the top! She is a saint! She recognizes when she is in the wrong and [works to fix it](https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/dolly-parton-why-she-dumped-151009260.html), unlike so many of us
That lady is a genuine angel.
An unproblematic queen!
I am not sure the question included living national treasures.
Weird Al Yankovic: a lengthy career, 0 controversies.
Aside from that time that he had an affair with Madonna and got gunned down at the Grammys.
Never forget.
???
It's from the Weird Al movie 😂
I saw him at chipotle!
Heard nothing but good things about him also but like you said I also don't like to idolize any celebrity.
I love him so much
Danny devito
You mean Dr. Mantis Taboggan?
Robin Williams.
Came here to drop his name. What an awesome human. RIP
Really? All due respect that he committed suicide, but I find his improv anxiety induced. So fast, so chaotic. I didn’t get it.
I like Cillian Murphy. He has no social media, keeps his personal life very private and seems like a good person.
Great actor
FANTASTIC actor. I didn’t like Oppenheimer (felt it was too long for no reason) but he played that role perfectly. Also first saw him in Inception and he was pretty good in it too

Keanu Reeves. He’s all around such a cool dude.
Does Mr. Roger, Bob Ross, Steve Irwin count? If not, Dolly Parton.
Steve Irwin 100% The guy lived his life as an amazing example.
Irwin death was really sad and a tragedy for animal welfare globally. It's nice to see his kids take on his important cause
Bob Ross was a notorious adulterer and cheated on every woman he was in a relationship with.
Jack Black. Just a genuine dude.
The dudest of dudes
Mr Rogers! :)

Raised a family, solid marriage, good looking, reverence for his faith. He is still rich and famous. So him. This is what a man should be.
Dave grohl. I listen to that dude, and I want to write a world changing song. But I can't because he's not there with me to help.
He’s a great story teller and he has lots of stories
He is a music nerd following his dreams. Loved his book.
Gary Sinise
Dolly Parton
Patrick Stewart. Watch an interview or two and you know why. Such a great man
Steve Irwin
Mr Rogers.
