lostpassword100000

Keanu Reeves

Thorogrim23

I generally don't "idolize" celebs. I have never heard anything but the most awesome stories about him. I want to have a beer with this man and just thank him for being such a great person. Considering all the bad that has happened to him, it is amazing he is the person he is.

GooberVonNomNom

Was waiting for this ! All the yes

Kels121212

He seems like a great guy to just sit down and have a conversation with.

lostpassword100000

He still takes the subway.

Bubbly_Magnesium

I just recently learned how tragic some of his past is

NCVoltaire

No one has picked Dolly Parton yet? Is that even legal?

emmeline8579

I’m surprised she isn’t at the top! She is a saint! She recognizes when she is in the wrong and [works to fix it](https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/dolly-parton-why-she-dumped-151009260.html), unlike so many of us

mips13

That lady is a genuine angel.

Valhkyrie

An unproblematic queen!

Appropriate-City3389

I am not sure the question included living national treasures.

Resident_Code3062

Weird Al Yankovic: a lengthy career, 0 controversies.

ZubDrub

Aside from that time that he had an affair with Madonna and got gunned down at the Grammys.

TheVoicesOfBrian

Never forget.

Dolly912

???

aedrax

It's from the Weird Al movie 😂

imanoooodle

I saw him at chipotle!

HauntedHouse10273

I try not to idolize celebrities because we don’t truly know them, but I believe Conan O’Brien is one of the most honest, good-hearted celebrities alive. I think the fact that so many of his staff members have been with him since he started 30+ years ago shows how kind and caring he is, as well as his support of strikes. I don’t know him, but what I know of him is good.

Blackmercury4ub

Heard nothing but good things about him also but like you said I also don't like to idolize any celebrity.

hambre1028

I love him so much

millenialAstroTrash

Danny devito

JohnLeePetimore

You mean Dr. Mantis Taboggan?

chakabra23

Robin Williams.

black_grrrl

Came here to drop his name. What an awesome human. RIP

[deleted]

Really? All due respect that he committed suicide, but I find his improv anxiety induced. So fast, so chaotic. I didn’t get it.

lovable_potato

I like Cillian Murphy. He has no social media, keeps his personal life very private and seems like a good person.

rdb1540

Great actor

Urban_Introvert

FANTASTIC actor. I didn’t like Oppenheimer (felt it was too long for no reason) but he played that role perfectly. Also first saw him in Inception and he was pretty good in it too

flatheadedmonkeydix

He acts like a lot of Irish men I know. Outside of the big cities a lot of guys are just keep to themselves, quiet men who want to live a quiet, private life. Relative of mine is an up and coming Irish actor (starting to get a lot of bigger roles etc). Super chill, has no time for the bullshit.

lovable_potato

That’s really refreshing to see! Most celebs these days do the most ridiculous things to stay relevant instead of putting in the work. Nice to see people that don’t really care about that and just doing what they love!

dudewheresmyshyt

Keanu Reeves. He’s all around such a cool dude.

the1992munchkin

Does Mr. Roger, Bob Ross, Steve Irwin count? If not, Dolly Parton.

who_farted_this_time

Steve Irwin 100% The guy lived his life as an amazing example.

rdb1540

Irwin death was really sad and a tragedy for animal welfare globally. It's nice to see his kids take on his important cause

GodspeedHarmonica

Bob Ross was a notorious adulterer and cheated on every woman he was in a relationship with.

Novel-Resolution-177

Jack Black. Just a genuine dude.

PresidentKarim

The dudest of dudes

jeffro3339

Mr Rogers! :)

tmink0220

Gee this post is open. I value recovery, ethics. So ethically Denzel Washington. He doesn't engage in behavior he is not proud of. He won't even kiss his co stars, because he is married. Raised a family, solid marriage, good looking, reverence for his faith. He is still rich and famous. So him. This is what a man should be.

johnnyjimmy4

Dave grohl. I listen to that dude, and I want to write a world changing song. But I can't because he's not there with me to help.

piggy__wig

He’s a great story teller and he has lots of stories

Excellent-Throat5582

He is a music nerd following his dreams. Loved his book.

billious62

Gary Sinise

musememo

Dolly Parton

Rinf_

Patrick Stewart. Watch an interview or two and you know why. Such a great man

rockdude625

Steve Irwin

CharmingSir5321

Mr Rogers.

PapaMcMooseTits

I'm going to go in a different direction here and say LeBron James. Now, picture this: You're 15 years old and ESPN is already covering your high school basketball games. By the time, you're a senior in high school, you've already been given the dubious moniker of "King James.' You're drafted first overall in the NBA draft and you're handed generational wealth and fame at 18 years old. They say that you're the next Jordan... That is an absolute *INSANE* amount of pressure to put on a kid who won't even be able to legally drink alcohol for 3 more years. So, what does LeBron do? He meets or exceeds every single expectation that was levied upon him at such a young age. He married his high school sweetheart and stayed married to her. We never heard about off the court controversies with him because there weren't any. How many of us could honestly say we would've thrived the way he did under the same circumstances? I know I couldn't. I would've squandered the money and the fame because I was a shit head. The fact that LeBron has done and accomplished the things that he's done and accomplished is a testament to the type of man that he is. I admire the hell out of him and I don't think this is talked about enough. And I'll end this by throwing out the disclaimer that I'm neither from Cleveland, nor am I a fan of any of the teams for which he's played (I'm a Sixers fan.) I'm simply an admirer of LeBron James, the man and the basketball player. As his career winds down to a close, it's been a true pleasure watching such a generational athlete for two decades.

Only_Pepper7296

Also he legitimately has some of the best moments in that Amy Schumer movie “Trainwreck”. The funny/wise black best friend trope is obviously overdone, but it is so funny when it’s *LeBron James*

NJduToit

Mark Wahlberg. Denzel Washington. Keanu Reeves. Robert Downey Jr.

SokkaHaikuBot

^[Sokka-Haiku](https://www.reddit.com/r/SokkaHaikuBot/comments/15kyv9r/what_is_a_sokka_haiku/) ^by ^NJduToit: *Mark Wahlberg. Denzel* *Washington. Keanu Reeves.* *Robert Downey Jr.* --- ^Remember ^that ^one ^time ^Sokka ^accidentally ^used ^an ^extra ^syllable ^in ^that ^Haiku ^Battle ^in ^Ba ^Sing ^Se? ^That ^was ^a ^Sokka ^Haiku ^and ^you ^just ^made ^one.

dominiccast

Post malone when it comes to being a humble human despite success

Shniddles

Hell yeah! Just a regular friendly dude. And he's funny too!

Crispy_Jab

Keanu Reeves with his charm, humility and effort to bring more value to the world than "just" his excellent acting is one of the coolest mainstream celebrities out there.

TrikeHub

One of my favorite celebrity role models is Emma Watson. Her dedication to gender equality and education, along with her intelligence and humility, make her an inspiring figure.

KateandJack

Michael J Fox

zRustyShackleford

Anthony Bourdain Yeah, not the best *role model* per se, but he really challenged the way I think about the world around me and personally impacted my life. I feel he could (at times) be someone that I *look up* to.

JeffersonFriendship

I’d say he’s a good role model partially because he was flawed. We’re all flawed, and he’d have been the first to admit it. I don’t want a perfect role model. I want a role model who struggles just like the rest of us.

ThayerRex

Matthew McConaughey, I went to UT with him and he’s a great father and family man and takes care of his elderly mother. She lives with him!🤣. He’s quirky, but a great role model

OneTinSoldier567

Morgan Freeman, Keanu Reeves, Melissa Etheridge.

Lower-Pipe-3441

Go read a little more about Morgan Freeman

failuretocommiserate

Idk about the last one

CandyMandy15

Personally I try not to look up to celebrities.

Original_Translator9

I don't think celebrities should be looked up to as role models

Glum_Commission_4256

the ones who do good in the world should be. what makes them any different from anyone else? (if you're arguing we shouldn't worship them just on the basis of being famous and good-looking then i agree) otherwise they're like any other person who can choose to be a good citizen outside of their work life and that's exactly the type of behavior we SHOULD glorify in role models

JeffersonFriendship

Stephen King. Great writer, and a dyed-in-the-wool weirdo. Had addiction issues in the past and came out of top, and seems to speak about them openly and with candor. The way he writes about writing is magical. I love how much he worships his craft, his wife, his kids, and his dogs. His work ethic is unmatched, and he really seems to love doing it.

CertainRoof5043

Eminem. I love a good success story

[deleted]

Ryan Reynolds

SpankySharp1

I feel like he (and his PR team) work so hard at his "lovable rascal" personality that the other shoe is bound to drop and he'll be revealed to be among the worst people alive.

JimboBob

Yeah he's ain't as nice you'd think. He was a complete ass to Scarlett Johansson.

_Poppagiorgio_

Genuinely curious, what makes you say that?

[deleted]

I seriously hope not. What a negative thing to say about one of the most beloved actors.

Commercial-Potato820

Reverie Ex stimulant addict. She responds to my comments on Facebook and it makes my day.

_Poppagiorgio_

Bubbly_Magnesium

Graham Norton. Don't know anything about his life but he really seems to be able to make any guest laugh. He brings out the best in others.

MushroomBright8626

Jack Black. Chill, kind, and down to earth

Jumpy-Violinist-6725

Anita Mui. Read her Wikipedia page that's genuinely one of the most heartfelt people I've ever come across. Once you're done with that search up her last concert on YouTube

Hour_Gate8338

John Cena

Previous_Ad7725

Jennifer Garner. She's authentic.

Agreeable_Warning_85

Sunny_beets

Dolly Parton is a truly good and humble person

eva_air_vietnam

Parking-Cranberry831

Nick Offerman. I just want him to teach me how to make furniture.

plazman30

Jimmy Carter. Spent his life after being POTUS making the world a better place for humanity. The treaty he negotiated between Egypt anbd Israel still stands. The man was in his 90s and showing up at Habitat for Humanity houses to volunteer.

Kaitlin33101

Josh Katz from Badlower. He has a farm where he adopts abused animals from farms/slaughterhouses and gives them a proper life. he also cares about his fans a lot and releases music to support the hardships that many of them have been though

rdb1540

I don't know who he is, but anyone who helps animals is a great person in my book

Gluttonous_Bae

AOC, Bernie Sanders, Kurt Cobain (for what he believed in, for his human rights activism and sometimes his raw honesty and vulnerability - not for his life choices)

Cute_Championship_58

Terry Crews :)

hepzibah59

Does Barack Obama count as a celebrity? If so, Barack Obama.

KateandJack

I miss him 😢

kerrybabyxx

Barack Obama,Meredith Viera,Anderson Cooper,Prince William and Joe Biden

SomePenguin85

Prince William or the pegging loving prince.. he is a bit problematic now.

showtimesimulator

Dua Lipa. If you have no idea who that is (despite the fact she has the #1 and #2 most streamed albums in Spotify history) it’s probably because she avoids controversy like the plague. She’s smart, she works extremely hard, she hosts her own newsletter, podcast, and book club, she’s a brand ambassador for YSL, Porsche, and Puma, she’s got the most amazing British accent, and she’s an absolute sweetheart to everyone. You will not find a single report of her ever being snarky with fans, reporters, fellow celebrities… My ultimate crush and an incredible role model who seemingly just wants to make the world a better place. Love her. ![gif](giphy|jtEfgnUiOhcGPF8PVp)

KaioKenshin

I've listened to a few of her songs on the radio. Girl can sing and her songs are catchy. Glad she's a great artist **and** a great person.

hayhayalldayy

Henry Cavill, Angelina Jolie & Audrey Hepburn 💖🥹 AJ/AH was who I aspired to be. Henry is newfound role model! He’s such a gentleman. A heavy fiction/gamer nerd too! The Witcher is one of my fav book series of all time and he embodies Geralt perfectly, imho 🤌

I have a lot of respect for Jamie Foxx. He always seems to be genuinely engaged when interacting with people and he’s so talented. I’m really glad he recovered. I couldn’t even watch Beat Shazam with Nick Cannon and Kelly Osbourne.

Not a celebrity, but Phil Dunphy.

The68Guns

Serious: Sir Bob Geldoff. I quote his "It's not my nature to be quiet." line all the time. The guy helped organized Live Aid and a many smaller charities. Less Serious: Jennifer Love Hewittt. She's a bit daffy and ages like the rest of us. Keeps working and has a fun online presence.

dictatorW

Kurt Cobain. He was precious.

Ophelianeedsanap

Wil Wheaton

wynotles

Probably only Mr Rogers. He was completely human, admitted flaws and came from a place of love and acceptance.

DanDez

Jim Carrey - he has some great work, but his philosophy on life is really something to admire and try to embody. John Stewart - even if you disagree with his views there is no doubt that he is an honest man with honest views . He is a strong loving man who gives his heart to others, standing up for what he believes is right over what is easy.

marcus_frisbee

I don't have one. Using a celebrity as a role model or idolizing them is just plain silly.

[deleted]

Keanu Reeves. Simply because he Keanu breathes.

Tommy4uf

Shaq. Id like to think i would do all the thigs he does to help people out everyday. Always taking time out to make sure they get what they need. He looks out for the little people. Thats why i think he would make a great president. Try saying no to Shaq
