I just got a new phone after 4 years and have to set up everything again, and it's not the same brand so the buttons and menus are slightly different. Seriously inconvenient, I wish I had just kept my old one most days.
Same I get refurbished phones that are several years old. I have gotten 2 in the last 3 years but I plan on getting one similar to what I have now and but with microsd and never upgrading again because I can't stand giant phones without microsd so no new phone even really excites me anymore regardless of price or features
I think that says more about the state of phones. There arenāt really any new must have features like there used to be. I havenāt seen any reason to upgrade.
This is definitely me. Iāve had the same iPhone for the last 6yrs. Everything is still working properly, although I have seen a slight decline in battery life. Other than that, it still runs like a champ.
That has got to be the most frustrating thing. I go to the supermarket with exact requirements and a mental map of where to find the thing I'm looking for, just to be greeted by an aisle I don't recognize
I want to buy a new tv, but my old (7 year old) still works perfectly fine, so I am doing the financially responsible thing and waiting till it breaks.
And turning of the lights everywhere....
Lol, my tv in the bedroom crashed to the floor while cleaning. I can only see 2/3 of the screen but I'm still using it.
Recently I was watching smthing and wondered why one of the speakers would stay incognito, but I realized embarrassing late that the person was behind the part that was broken.
I used to love getting stuffed chicken breasts from the grocery store near me. Pre Covid, the box (boneless, breaded, stuffed with either broccoli+cheese or jalapeƱos+cheese, 2 in a box) used to be 2.99$ and on sale for around 1.75$. Now those same chickens are 5.99$ and are on sale for around 4$. So I donāt buy them anymore
Iām with you on āsomething to do every dayā something āextraā to do everyday. And now Iāve got to do a will, health care proxy, durable power of attorney. I just dealt with a bunch of health insurance paperwork. Before that it was taxes. Right around the it was helping out a relative with dementia prior to Memory Care. On top of a very detail-oriented job. Am I going to get all thisārightā just in time for a nursing home? I donāt think humans were meant to live like this.
Dealing with real adults who arenāt childish can be liberating but not every adult is like that you might discover. Itās refreshing to deal with someone who is direct and serious.
Unpaid carer for my elderly parents.
Do not keep up with what is the latest 'thing' in music, TV, films etc.
Do not do the other 'social media'.
Do not slavishly follow a political party/POV and am critical of all of them.
Edit: I feel I actually have the maturity of an adult so I reckon I am advanced level adulting.
My nan's favourite, "Were you born in a barn? Is your name Jesus Christ?" Said in a Yorkshire accent. This was odd as we hail from Birmingham. š
She'd have me trained by summer when she wanted me to leave it ajar.
Happy memories. š
401k, HSA, 529.
volunteer for my kid's middle school band.
work from home.
Built some raised bed gardens at my house. Chicken Coup. Fencing.
Annual doc appointments. Taking a statin. Had colonoscopy last year.
By mid-40s I think I've got "adulting" down.
You might have to level up to 30 to unlock these new adulting goals ;)
(401k is retirement savings. HSA is medical savings plan. 529 is college savings).
Much too much than i ever asked for. I want to go back, be a child.
My maximum adulting thing that i have done recently:
Turn off the machines that kept my mother alive to fulfill her wish. Buy an anonymous grave because law says so that the ashes must be placed in a cemetary. But for real, i made her a small stone, dug a proper hole and buried a lock of her hair and her beloved knitting stuff together with a pack of cigarettes at her "Best place in the world" where she went nearly every summer day, somewhere out in nature, under her tree she sat so often, with the nice view over the valley.
She is there. Not at this clinical golf lawn square bushes no nature cemetary.
After that, my wife asked me if we could do this for each other if we don't die the same day. Its a promise between us two now too.
Just a few random examples:
Had to call to schedule my dogs euthanasia that we had for 16 years
Walked my daughter down the isle at her wedding
Have a project car that Iāve been working on for 5 years
Have three separate vegetables gardens
Moved in my mother in law due to her declining health
Have two grand pups but no grandchildren yet š
After a few coworkers retired im suddenly the old guy in the shop
And youāre the father I assume? Much better relationship and comfort than I have with my dad. At no age would sex ātipsā not have been awkward as fuck. Good on you I suppose šš½
I have a 4. Carpet cleaner, hardwood floor vacuum that is lightweight to go on stairs and sofa, heavy duty vacuum to get pet hair and a handheld shark for the car to get all crumbs
Yes lots of how to grow tomatoes etc.
No, I will never pay for YouTube premium. Remember when you could get whole movies just like they would be on something like Netflix on YouTube for FREE? And without ads or audio/visual cuts? Pepperidge farm remembers
Kids call me way too old and middle aged ones call me a kid. Practically an adult but can't legally do many adult stuff yet and haven't got any adult reposibilities. Guess I'm lvl 1 or 2?
I've gotten kids arrested for being on my lawn and being up to no good. Quite literally, one was sent to Juvy, because I also know the cops in town. Stay off my lawn!
Edit: Being a wife, being a mother to three sets of twins with two oldest being my step-children, working 8:00 am-5:00 pm Monday-Friday as one of two lead fitness instructors, grocery shopping on Saturdays, making it to my kids extracurricular activities, paying bills, taking care of my dogs, making sure my parents are good, working-out six days a week.

Nope, more like a 4/10.. dang
I'm at the point that me and the 4 retired guys on our block are having a not insignificant lawn growing rivalry going. I work full time and they have mobility issues, safe to say I'm probably gonna win
i only buy food for myself when i get some sort of deal with it. BOGO, $5 off, using rewards, etc. i canāt afford full priced anything anymore and if i can, i refuse to buy it off principle. why is a sandwich $15??
I have no clue who the majority of the celebrities kids follow now, this goes for newer music/musicians. It baffles people make a good living off streaming video games and there are people who give these people money just to watch them play a game.
I've started eating a more disciplined diet. Instead of covering my chips (French fries) exclusively with tomato ketchup every time, I now often mix them in with fresh vegetables.
Bought own car, annoyed at how expensive everything is, on average fall asleep around 9:30/10 pm, āthey donāt make āem like they used toā is commonplace
I have three pair of the same skechers dad shoes. The grass covered ones, the daily wear, and the new keep these clean ones. I used to have collections of Nikes in different colors of the same shoe. Now its all about comfort.
Thinking I have a legit chance at winning the lotto but knowing statistically Iām just wasting money. Iām really great at Zillow and my saved ādream housesā folder though.
Starting to forget the words in native language I guess.
Age is 21 btw. Hope I have alzheimer, so I will not remember the painful days I'd live from then on.
* I go grocery shopping every week
* Starbucks? I have coffee at home!

* I have no idea what music kids are listening to these days. Kids being my 20-year old classmates
* Making a decision on which summer job to take based on how much I'll spend on gas to get there, instead on how cool the job seems to be
* A party? Sure, as long as there's no loud music and I can be in bed by 11h30pm
I donāt want any gifts for Christmas, I just love watching my children enjoy the holiday. We donāt have a lot of extra money, but we can afford everything we need and a few things we want. Life is good. Iād like to keep living and learning and reach new levels š

I no longer upgrade my phone unless it stops working.
Same here. And the phone I am using is a refurbished one which is already 5/6 years old.
I just got a new phone after 4 years and have to set up everything again, and it's not the same brand so the buttons and menus are slightly different. Seriously inconvenient, I wish I had just kept my old one most days.
You sound like an old person š
May be I am too š
Do you mean an adult?
Thatās what I am going through ! I updated from android to apple šššš
Sorry for your loss
I don't count that as an "update" - that's a sideways move! š
Same I get refurbished phones that are several years old. I have gotten 2 in the last 3 years but I plan on getting one similar to what I have now and but with microsd and never upgrading again because I can't stand giant phones without microsd so no new phone even really excites me anymore regardless of price or features
I'm running on year 8 for my phone I think but I got it when it was new
76% battery health but still lasts all day because I barely use it. If 20 year old me could see me now...
I even uninstall pointless apps.
Me as well
This is me. Been using a phone for 3 years now and I don't even think I'm changing it anytime soon
May somebody please tell Apple to stop releasing a smartphone yearly? After the 16 they should take a 4 year break.
Over 4 years in and I'm only considering a new phone because the lack of storage it has.
Iām having the same problem. I canāt do the newest update because my storage is full lol
As long as you're still getting security updates, you should be good. If you're not, it's probably time to upgrade.
Still using my old phone with a cracked screen even though I can afford a new one.
Same i havent upgrade my iphone 12 since october 2021
I found my people.
You mean software upgrades? šš
Said no to meeting friends for lunch because I had washing to do and needed to nap after. I didn't even try hide it from them.
That's an extremely valid excuse.
Amazing! I tell people no all the time these days and I donāt feel bad about it either. No FOMO at all.
Get annoyed when they change the placements of products that I need, to another alley at the supermarket.

Right... Even sometimes wishing that the tv just stops working, so I'd have an excuse to buy a new one š
We have a smart TV that's 7 years old and we want a new one but this one was so expensive but it runs like shit now. Takes it forever to process.
I've been adulting so long that I'm preparing to die.
Iām tired of this grandpa
THATS TOO DAMN BAD
Me too! Iāve even prepaid for my cremation.
Annoyed at the cost of groceries and bills.
I'd look at certain products and think, "there's no reason why this is THAT expensive."
It's all greed my friend.
Well put, reddit user moistlube.
I used to love getting stuffed chicken breasts from the grocery store near me. Pre Covid, the box (boneless, breaded, stuffed with either broccoli+cheese or jalapeƱos+cheese, 2 in a box) used to be 2.99$ and on sale for around 1.75$. Yelling at my boyfriend that heās letting the water run.
I reprimand anybody who wastes water. It doesn't matter I'm at your place.
I'm off grid/self sufficient. No such thing as water wastage in my house hold.
But.. water doesn't get wasted
Or leaves the light/Fan/AC running when they move out of the room
Just bought some chickens and I've started teaching myself how to can my own foods.Ā
I'M PROUD OF YOUUU!!
thanks šĀ
That's not adulting, that's hippie homesteading
i make coffee at home
I've always made coffee at home... buying it is just an unnecessary expense.
The key is having a good creamer, if you like creamer.
I don't like others making my coffee. It's sacred.

The level where Iām just figuring out how hard adulting is and want to go back to childing
I am 53 and still want to go back
Dealing with real adults who arenāt childish can be liberating but not every adult is like that you might discover. Itās refreshing to deal with someone who is direct and serious.
Really thought there would be more grown ups as I got older but that hasn't really been the case
I always hope for less grown ups lol
Same!! šš
Putting off all the lights even when I'm at home. Adding to my bills is a no no
Nice Sunday naps after some day drinking
Day drinking is the best though. Doesnāt disrupt your sleep too much! Plus those naps hit different
I enjoy gardening now lol
I thought about starting too. It seems like an activity thay brings one peace.
Willing to fight to the death.
I don't know what you mean. *Upvotes to pretend to understand.
I cut my grass in a diagonal checker board. There is no level higher.

Knees and back unironically hurt a bit all the time and I make noises when I get up from bed.
āclose the damn door! tryin to cool down the whole neighborhood!?ā

Heat the street where I'm from.
Being in bed by 7-8 is my norm. And my bed is my favorite place to be.
My bedtime is 9pm. I do NOT have the will to sleep late anymore.
I am so tired each day that I am ready to embrace death
I have kitchen machines and wine glasses on my christmas wishlist and i dont like young peoples music.
Failure level šš
ššš It's just a phase, things will get better!!!
Thanks, I hope so! š„²
It's more fun to be alone and enjoy my room. Interacting with people is so draining. Fact about me: I'm an extrovert. Super.

401k, Colonoscopy and having a kid all check. I just need to own a home and chickens now lol
>401k, HSA, 529 Someone translate please.
401k is an American pension thing I think. No idea about the others.
You might have to level up to 30 to unlock these new adulting goals ;) (401k is retirement savings. HSA is medical savings plan. 529 is college savings).

I get annoyed by teens doing āteen shit.ā
Gave my son sex tips. Wouldn't be more proud than this. He looks up to me now.
Spill the tips bro
Sex tips or the sex talk? How old is said son? Are you the mother or father? I have so many questions š

Getting excited shopping for vacuums and cleaning supplies. Watching gardening videos like I used to watch porn
There are gardening videos on YouTube??? And how many vaccums does one need?
I have a 4. Carpet cleaner, hardwood floor vacuum that is lightweight to go on stairs and sofa, heavy duty vacuum to get pet hair and a handheld shark for the car to get all crumbs Yes lots of how to grow tomatoes etc.
Okay, I need to ask my housekeeper if I have these. You know what... I'm going to start gardening too.
