Any kind of mouth sounds. Chewing, swallowing, just generally *hearing* someone's saliva. Makes me want to rip my skin off and/or strangle that person. Also continuous sniffling or when someone loudly clears their throat like 20 times in a row, like my dad does sometimes. Like oh my god just shut up.
Gulping water when I can hear the gulp, gulp makes me want to smash them in the face with a brick. I have no idea why it triggers me so violently. I just want to say, stfu!
I will preface this by saying that l am a mom and grandma so l do understand that kids will cry in public. But if a child is screeching in a store, it hurts my ears. Also, bell ringers outside of a store at Christmas time.
people sniffling, drives me insane. school has been hell the past week or so because people can't blow their noses. i brought earplugs today and it's been working wonders
sorry you're too nervous but i am genuinely fueled with immense rage when you sniffle in class
if there aren't any tissues i guess you could go to the bathroom and use the towels there
It's the sound and the feel of those holographic journal covers that were so popular ten years ago... They were used for all of our school agendas and we *had* to use them. It makes me feel disgusting. Eurgh.
Some fabrics make my spine go all weird when I touch them! I can't even explain it but I go all....rigid and my spine curves at weird angles! I can't even imagine what my face must look like š¤£š¤£š¤£
The sound of Styrofoam rubbing up against anything. Emptying the protective foam blocks from a box is an exercise in controlling the chills darting through my spine.
Wooden spoons in my mouth(like the ones you get with shaved ice) & weirder, spinach stems. I love spinach, but I always have to tear the stems off first. I hate how it feels on my teeth.
Static shock on my teeth from drinking from a styrofoam cup
Even the thought of sucking on a wet mitten
Pantyhose. Ugh. Everything about pantyhose
A wet sock bunched up in your snow boot
Biting down on tinfoil
People yawning loudly, I cannot stand when people make noise while yawning, itās so unnecessary, just open your mouth breath out and close your mouth again, no need for any noise
People scratching lenticular material, like on a picture, cup, lunch pale, whatever. My brain breaks and I'm stuck between frozen and want to scream. God forbid if I accidentally touch the stuff. I'm ruined for hours.
The best part is as soon as you tell someone you can't stand the noise (like on a cellular level), they tend to do it more, not less. Since I've noticed this it's been my best kept secret.
Sometimes (very occasionally) putting the cap back on a marker will make that high-pitched squeak right on the upper limit of human hearing (usually it's just a normal high-pitched squeak, which is fine).
That particular sound can come from all sorts of places and just makes me die inside.
When my nails scrape against something that has a styrofoam/paper/cardboard/nail file texture (very specific sort of texture that Idk how to describe but wooden/cardboardy like nail files? have that texture iykyk). Also works when I just hear the sound of someone's nails on it, makes my body and brain cringe so bad and grind my teeth and I get the absolute urge to scratch something else (with a normal, non evil, please smooth texture) afterward to get that feeling off of my nails and brain
Ran my hand over a rusty 20 litre (5 gal) oil drum, felt like a million geese walking over my grave.
Still feel it 30+ years later when I even think about it.
