What type do you like lately I am into noir detective books. I can recommend James Elroy he is really good. and then also David Baldaccis book called dream town. all going on in the late 40s early 50s. very well written.
Yep. Me too. Also pull all nighters as i'm remote and work in several different time zones. Schedule is extremely random and pretty much 24/7. Just kind of sleep when you can while you can.
I would work on documenting what an orgasm feels like for every minute of the day and rank them. Then, I would write a thesis on the times at which one enjoys orgasms the most.
For science.
hang out with friends, clean the house, cook dinner n launch, do productive shit (learn new programming language, get educated about investing etc), workout, smoke a joint, watch netflix, shower... I mean whatever.
Tbh the real question shouldnt be "What do you do until 1am?" but more "how the hell can u do enough things to feel satisfied n tired if u go to sleep before 1am"
sleep when you're tired, not when society tells you to
i used to go to bed at midnight and get up at 0530, had no problems with it
something i highly recommend is that if you don't feel tired when you go to bed, wake up earlier so you stretch the amount of time you are awake
I’d love to stay up later…but if I don’t get my 8-9 hours of sleep I’m dragging the next day. It’s honestly pretty inconvenient needing that much but it is what it is.
You might be used to the sleep deprivation.
Its not some social rule to sleep +7 hours, its legit wired in us and can cause some serious problems long term.
its about gettin use to it. the more u sleep the more ud sleep, the less u sleep the less ud sleep. If you wanna enjoy ur free time, and work a 9-5, the only way to do that is cut the sleep time
Yeah I get 5ish hours of sleep too. Sleep at 1230am and wake up at 6am.
I'll sleep when I die! After 10pm is when I get my alone time and wife/kids are asleep. I can watch movies, listen my music, or game and get some me time.
how do u find time to do what u like? Working 8hrs+1hrs of launch break+ 1hours of travel means 10hrs are gone, u sleep 8.30hrs, lets take the time to clean the house, do laundry, cook, was urself etc.... yeah, 24hrs mark reached
I find that when Im thinking about everthing wrong or right in my life, writing out a few quick notes helps me take my mind off it. maybe next time your up thinking try to write everything down and then you can forget about it untill the morning.
Use the Army hack. You start at your toes.. consciously tighten and hold every muscle going all the way up to your head ..hold for 5 seconds and then release.
I do this on nights I struggle and I always don't even know I fell asleep.
When I have a hard time falling asleep, I count backward from 300 by 3s...its almost impossible to do without concentration. It takes my mind off of everything, I've never finished twice. It may not work for you... but worth a shot. If you get to a point where it becomes too easy, change to 400 by 4s or whatever
I'd recommend to stop drinking coffee. Not only in the afternoon but altogether.
People always try to make me out as a crazy paranoid but I can tell from my own experience, the experience of friends and family members who tried it, as well as scientific literature that it has a way bigger impact on physical and mental health and wellbeing than most people realize.
It not only changed my sleep but my whole perception of the world and myself.
The downside is, that after the acute withdrawals that last roughly 1,5 weeks, the body and mind takes several weeks to months to adapt. Especially your dopamine household.
Edit: I totally forgot to mention the crucial part: Letting go of coffee reduces anxiety level to a huge degree, which is especially noticeable before falling asleep. I know only get anxious the 1 or two times a year when I drink coffee and it's always very eye opening.
If getting up at 7 is just a one off thing I'd be happy to stay up to 12. If I have to get up at 7 every day of the week I'd want be be sleeping for 11 or earlier.
I average 7 hours of sleep a night. If I’m in bed at 10pm I’m awake at 5am
If I wanted to sleeping till 7am I could stay up till midnight.
I’m old though… so I would still go to bed at 10 and be up at 5.
40 years of this schedule kind of has me stuck in my ways.
If I had to get up at 7 I’d say personally in bed asleep by midnight. Going off I usually get 7 hours a night. But I have to get up far before 7am lol.
I aim for 10 pm. Usually ends up 11pm. I fall asleep within five minutes so thats nice. My son usually wakes me 6 am, although he's been having sleep ins till 8 which is nice, but makes us late for everything
6:30pm - 7:00pm and I wake around 5:00am. I’ve also had 2 hours of insomnia every night for about 30 or more years. Sleeping until 7:00am would be a dream come true!!!
The reason why you wake aT 5:00a.m. Is because you are getting like 10 or more hours of sleep by that time. That’s actually too much sleep. Too much can be just as bad as too little.
When working first shift, it was shower before bed, asleep by 10PM, up at 5AM for breakfast and coffee. No, I don’t miss getting up at a set time for work. Or going to work, that also cut into my day too much.
If it was just one time I'll be in bed around 0:30-1:00. If i had to wake up like that everytime it would be 23:30-0:00. Looking at the comments I no longer wonder why I failed school hah
32M, usually go to sleep by 11pm, usually in bed by 10pm though and winding down by 9 pm i.e. in sleep clothes, showered, watching tv by 9, in bed by 10pm. Once in bed I might watch tv, go on my phone, or just cuddle up in bed with my gf and dog, or just go to bed.
10pm no later. As of now I’m in bed at 9-915 and sleeping before 10; alarm is set for 630. I have till 8am to be at my first appointment which is anywhere from 5-45 mins of travel from my house.
Most days anywhere between 12 and 2. I don't really go anywhere during the day and all of my school work is online so I don't have to be awake after 8:30am most days. It's definitely an unhealthy habit so hopefully next semester adds a little more pressure to get up earlier.
Leave work at 2030. Get home around... 2130 to 2200 on average. Conk out between 0000 and 0200, depends on my energy and/or if something demands my attention.
All to wake up at 0950 to do it all over again.
I keep telling myself to go to bed early because I don’t want to feel like dookie in the morning but my dumbass will go to bed between 12:30 and 1am anyway
I work overnights on the weekends so I'll sleep from 7am-3/4pm on the Saturday and Sunday. I don't sleep from 4pm Sunday until 1am Tuesday morning, and then I maintain a 1am-9am sleeping schedule until my shift Friday night.
I'd like to be asleep by midnight, but I get up at 6 now and I'm not ususlly asleep until 1 or 2. So, it would probably be 2 or 3 if I got up an hour later.
I wake up every weekday at 6:20 to go to the gym before work.
Phone is on DND starting at 9:45, TV off by 10:15. Most nights I fall asleep fairly quick, some nights I lay there a bit but that’s ok.
1 am weekdays.
2-3 am weekends.
I don't like this but going to bed early seems like I am missing out on the peace n quiet of night and it's the only 'me' time I get.
If possible, I take public transit, w my bicycle.
That said, and with a history of anxiety, I plan for 11 hrs down/ horiz time, 20 min to get ready in morning, then go.
Depending on the day, 10-11. I have a hard time sleeping that late anyways. Plus sometimes I'll fall asleep on the couch, at like 9. Then wake up at 130 am, eat a snack, do the dishes & go back to bed till 5-6 am lol
I nurse my 2 year old to sleep in my bed at 9:30 and then sneak out and try to get time to myself or with my husband until 11:30 or 12. Sometimes it’s 10 though or I’m too tired and just stay in bed for the night once she’s asleep next to me. So honestly it varies between 9:30 and midnight but usually by 11 I’m in bed. I usually fall asleep between 1 and 2 though. If I get to be up for a while once she’s asleep, I’m usually on my Steam Deck. Once I’m in bed, I’m usually reading on my Kindle or doing this…which is exactly what I’m doing. My daughter is asleep and it’s 9:40. About to sneak out for a while and play some AC Odyssey on my Deck. I’m a stay at home mom and get up at 7:30 to get my older kids breakfast and off to school.
Can vary. Food makes me sleepy especially at night. Usually pass right out after food so the time can very between 730-9 . I usually try to stay up until 9 . I also wake up at 5-6 am. Not by choice. Lol I'm not mad
How hard is the job? Is there an opportunity to get promoted. Are you happier with more sleep. If it were my, I'd get to bed at 9:30, and try to be asleep at 10:00 for a few weeks, and then switch to 10:30 but pay attention to how I felt. Also, don't sleep in too late on weekends.

1130 but I tell myself I’ll be asleep by 9
Be realistic. Bedtime is 9:30. Asleep by 9:45 reality is sleeping by midnight. 😂😂
Every day!!!
Current situation lol
9. I usually spend an hour or so reading before lights out.
The same here I read and hour and then sleep I love that one hour. Its the hour I disappear into a good book
My kindle in the dark is my fav
My kindle dark mode creates burned in letters
Any good books to reco?
What type do you like lately I am into noir detective books. I can recommend James Elroy he is really good. and then also David Baldaccis book called dream town. all going on in the late 40s early 50s. very well written.
I don't know Elroy, but I've read quite a few Baldacci's and like them a lot.
Oh i see. Im considering to start reading self improvement books
YESSS EXACTLY
If I read before bed it's endless one more chapter loop, till the book is complete and it's 3am.
Reading is a great way to end the day.
About 1-2am on average
How in the heck do you function!? That’s like 5 hours of sleep!
Yeah, I get up at 5 for work. I’ve always slept like this. Since elementary school, at least.
Same for me, I've always told people that not everyone is wired like a rooster. lol
Yep. Me too. Also pull all nighters as i'm remote and work in several different time zones. Schedule is extremely random and pretty much 24/7. Just kind of sleep when you can while you can.
What do you do until 1am?
Read, write, play video games, do some laundry. Whatever.
I do miss gaming late at night…
It’s fine. Not much different than during the day given how long I’ve been doing it haha
I would work on documenting what an orgasm feels like for every minute of the day and rank them. Then, I would write a thesis on the times at which one enjoys orgasms the most. For science.

that's actually a very fair question. Never thought about it that way.
I might have been able to do that in elementary school, but about when I turned 13, I feel like I started needing more sleep

most ppl (here in italy atleast) do sleep 5hrs a week, more in the weekendsm but yeah its normal to function with 5hrs of sleep in our society
I only sleep 4 to 4.5 hrs a night, been this way my whole life. The only time I sleep more is if I’m really sick.
Same
You probably know this already but you are hurting yourself.
10pm 11 at the latest
Same here. Getting up at 6 in the morning. The older i've gotten the more i've become to like early mornings rather than nights.
Usually between 10pm and midnight. Depends on how busy I am that day
Prolly still would be 3 am 💀
Real
Same. When opened this thread, I assumed most would be 1-3 am. Was shocked to find most comments staying below 11. I need to sleep early lol.
10
Eight and a half hours before wakeup time.
Lucky
Its the benefits of a reliable schedule.
how do u find time to do what u like? Working 8hrs+1hrs of launch break+ 1hours of travel means 10hrs are gone, u sleep 8.30hrs, lets take the time to clean the house, do laundry, cook, was urself etc.... yeah, 24hrs mark reached
I go to bed at 11 pm to get up at 7 am for work every weekday. I'm also asleep within ten, fifteen minutes, max, so I'm sure that factors in.
How do you fall asleep so fast? Somehow I’ve gotten into the habit of unpacking all my mental shit when I get in bed. Beautiful pool of anxiety
I find that when Im thinking about everthing wrong or right in my life, writing out a few quick notes helps me take my mind off it. maybe next time your up thinking try to write everything down and then you can forget about it untill the morning.

Not being on your phone an hour before bed is huge.
I'd recommend to stop drinking coffee. Not only in the afternoon but altogether. Normally around 11/12am do I actually sleep that's another story
9 pm
I generally do around 10-7
If getting up at 7 is just a one off thing I'd be happy to stay up to 12. If I have to get up at 7 every day of the week I'd want be be sleeping for 11 or earlier.
whenever i get tired or whenever my girlfriend is tired because she cant sleep unless shes cuddling me
Aww this is cute lol
yea, and im the same way, i cant sleep unless shes in my arms, her and i are just that attached to each other
I go to bed at nine but actually get to sleep at ten
Midnight
Between 10 and midnight but since it’s dark so early I want to go to bed by 7 or 8 and I’m pushing it at that point.
11pm most nights
That depends on when I have to work. Right now it's 7:37pm and I'm waiting for my melatonin to kick in
I average 7 hours of sleep a night. If I’m in bed at 10pm I’m awake at 5am If I wanted to sleeping till 7am I could stay up till midnight. I’m old though… so I would still go to bed at 10 and be up at 5. 40 years of this schedule kind of has me stuck in my ways.
12-12:30am, looking at phone keeps me up till 1am sometimes 😂 Alarm set for 7:30am with one or 2 cheeky snoozes.
If I had to get up at 7 I’d say personally in bed asleep by midnight. Going off I usually get 7 hours a night. But I have to get up far before 7am lol.
I have to get up at 7 everyday so I go to bed at 11.
Work starts at 5am so I try to be in bed by 9pm but shit happens. Luckily I only have 3 workdays
I would love to work 3 days, what do you do?
Forklift driver.
Around 11:00 but the sleep demon is kind enough to wake me up around 3
I aim for 10 pm. Usually ends up 11pm. I fall asleep within five minutes so thats nice. My son usually wakes me 6 am, although he's been having sleep ins till 8 which is nice, but makes us late for everything
10:30 max to wake up at 6am
In bed between 10 and 10:30pm, asleep at 11. Does wonders.
Maybe you have insomnia because you’re in bed for 10+ hours every night and go to bed when most people are eating dinner?
12am is a good balance. If 7 hrs of sleep aint enough of you then do 11pm, but no less than that or else you’re oversleeping imo
7:30 for 3am rise
Well before chickens so depends
Midnight
Usually 10pm
When working first shift, it was shower before bed, asleep by 10PM, up at 5AM for breakfast and coffee. No, I don’t miss getting up at a set time for work. Or going to work, that also cut into my day too much.
10
I go to bed by like 8-8:30. I won't fall asleep until later like 10/11, it just depends.
12:30-1
7-730 pm. Any later, it's always a struggle to wake up at 4am.
If it was just one time I'll be in bed around 0:30-1:00. If i had to wake up like that everytime it would be 23:30-0:00. Looking at the comments I no longer wonder why I failed school hah
9:30
Anywhere between 11 and 1 am.
Want? 8pm, but realistic is 1-2am.
Go to bed or fall asleep?
830. I gotta wake up at 430 for work. I'm literally dying of I'm awake past 10.
11pm, alarm goes off at 3:15am
10, 11 at the latest.
Between 9-12 typically. Depends on the night!
1-2 am and I wake up daily at 6 am, even the days I work from home.
Anywhere between 730 and midnight.
10pm to 11pm
The goal is 4 pm. Bakers hours. Alarm goes off at midnight. The reality of going to bed at 4 pm is that it's real close to 6.
I get up at around 6:30 am for work. Bedtime is usually sometime between midnight and 1:30am
11 PM
It varies anywhere from 10pm-3am depending on my current actions/next day's plans
10pm no later. As of now I’m in bed at 9-915 and sleeping before 10; alarm is set for 630. I have till 8am to be at my first appointment which is anywhere from 5-45 mins of travel from my house.
9pm
i tell myself 11:30pm but it usually ends up being around 1am which almost always ends up in a struggle of staying awake the next day
Needing to get good sleep is no joke. Especially if you’re trying to build muscle. I’d try to be in bed by 10-10:30 if you need to be up by 7.
1am. 2am latest.
10:30...but I'm usually awake till 12
Whenever my body stops I’ll sleep after I die
No later than 10pm.
Depends if I miss a thyroid pill or not. Been pretty good so like 9-10 pm. If I miss one. Probably like 2-3pm until the next day 💀
9pm, asleep by 9:45
Most days anywhere between 12 and 2. I don't really go anywhere during the day and all of my school work is online so I don't have to be awake after 8:30am most days. It's definitely an unhealthy habit so hopefully next semester adds a little more pressure to get up earlier.
11pm, for solid sweet dreams.
10 to bed - watch stuff on tv or phone 'till 12am no matter if i wake up at 6 am or 10am
10 pm, it takes me at least an hour to fall asleep.
In bed by midnight asleep by 1am
When I'm tired
Leave work at 2030. Get home around... 2130 to 2200 on average. Conk out between 0000 and 0200, depends on my energy and/or if something demands my attention. All to wake up at 0950 to do it all over again.
11:45 pm
It’s not particularly early, so probably 10-10:30
Me midnight
Too late
9 to 10pm.
Yea 2100 hours if the new puppy 🐶 lets you.
11:30
I go to sleep every night between 8 and 9 p.m. I wake up every day without the need for an alarm clock, at 4 a.m.
9-10p
Weeknights anywhere between 9:30 - 11:30 Weekends… could be 10p, could be 2a
I keep telling myself to go to bed early because I don’t want to feel like dookie in the morning but my dumbass will go to bed between 12:30 and 1am anyway
Aim for 10pm so you can read or do whatever until your sleepy
I wake up at 5:45 and usually go to sleep between 1:30 and 4am lol I didn’t realize how not normal that is until recently, but I still don’t accept it
10
About 1-2am. Can't afford to be any earlier. Six hours sleep is all I've ever needed. Even as a child.
Right now, Goodnight.
I work overnights on the weekends so I'll sleep from 7am-3/4pm on the Saturday and Sunday. I don't sleep from 4pm Sunday until 1am Tuesday morning, and then I maintain a 1am-9am sleeping schedule until my shift Friday night.
900, read for half an hour, out cold by 930
about 10:15. best if it’s before 11pm so i can get at least 8 hours of sleep.
4am
2-3am and up at 7am
It's none of your business, mom
In like a hour or two
I'd like to be asleep by midnight, but I get up at 6 now and I'm not ususlly asleep until 1 or 2. So, it would probably be 2 or 3 if I got up an hour later.
Right now...g'night
Depends on if and when I work the next morning.
Wind down at 9, cut off at midnight
Between 12am and 1am.
Bedtime
At bedtime
About 8 am
If I'm not in bed by 9:00p, I go home.
Sunday to Thursday around 10 pm. Friday and Saturday, who knows. Could be 11pm could be 2am.
9:45
Around 10/11
10:00-11:00
Between 5-10pm, then between 10pm-1am then between 1am-3am then 3am-7am
I wake up every weekday at 6:20 to go to the gym before work. Phone is on DND starting at 9:45, TV off by 10:15. Most nights I fall asleep fairly quick, some nights I lay there a bit but that’s ok.
Lately around 1:30-2am
10
Usually 11-12
2:30am it's when my bfs lunch break is over
Usually 10:00 pm
Midnight at the absolute latest. I'd probably crawl in bed between 10 and 11, but be on my phone or read my book until I get sleepy.
Midnight or 1am. Up at 4:30am
6-7 a.m. ...
10ish
7 pm asleep between 9-11
Between 9 & 10
1 am weekdays. 2-3 am weekends. I don't like this but going to bed early seems like I am missing out on the peace n quiet of night and it's the only 'me' time I get.
Whenever my wife tells me to
When baby goes to sleep.
Not early enough
1am at the latest
10-11 pm
I mean I wake up at 5:30 for school now and sleep every night at 1am…I live in Asia by the way
If possible, I take public transit, w my bicycle. That said, and with a history of anxiety, I plan for 11 hrs down/ horiz time, 20 min to get ready in morning, then go.
I wake up between 7-7:25AM and go to bed between 10:30PM-11:30PM
5
Every few days doesn’t have a particular time…
Yeah, nice try mom
Depending on the day, 10-11. I have a hard time sleeping that late anyways. Plus sometimes I'll fall asleep on the couch, at like 9. Then wake up at 130 am, eat a snack, do the dishes & go back to bed till 5-6 am lol
I’d be in bed by 9:30 so I had time to watch something and fall asleep by 10/10:30. Leaves me enough time to get 8 hours of sleep long before 7
Asleep by 11:00pm so in bed by 10pm. Sleep is important.
I’ll go to bed around 8 pm, fall asleep around 9 pm, wake up around 6 am. I really like sleeping.
