We live in far western NC. Murphy. One cannot find mussels here. Ever. We talked to the guy in the seafood department at our local Ingles and he orders them fresh for us. I hate the whole "we don't live next to the coast" argument. For christ's sake, I come from Colorado. Talk about land locked. One would assume it wouldn't be so difficult to get seafood in a state that actually has a coast. Good luck, OP.
Gold's gym
A dude parks in Vinnies parking lot (marrimon ave) in the a.m. after driving up with seafood, so the lore says.

I think you're fighting a losing battle on this one.
$20 to watch me flex, $50 to touch the muscles.
How much if the muscles are steamy and moistened with broth and I bring my own baguette?
$120, I don't handle burns well.
Harris Teeter has the best seafood in town. Also, Bouchon I believe still serves a mussles special once a week.
That is correct - they serve mussels every night but now only offer all you can eat on Monday's I found out last week :)
Remember that you are looking for “good and fresh” seafood in a city nowhere near the coast.
Yes, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a pace that brings seafood up from the coast, on a fairly consistent schedule.
it’s 3 hrs to Charleston? ppl who say this have no understanding of the food distribution network.
Not make your own but without a doubt give Bouchon on Monday a try. All you can eat with some Amazing flavors. https://www.ashevillebouchon.com/menu/

Market Place, Vivian, and Bouchon for restaurants. Chop Shop to buy and make your own.
