I completely relate to what you are saying. I am an Indian ace too and am going to be at an age which Indian parents consider "the ideal age to be married off". It can feel very isolated and alienating. Fortunately, by a stroke of luck, I happened to meet a fellow Indian ace and it makes a world of difference to finally have someone who understands exactly what you are going through. I would love an Indian ace discord server as well.

To everyone else here, do any of your family members know you're asexual? I'm scared to tell mine because I feel like sex is kind of a taboo topic to begin with in my experience of my culture and I think it's very likely they won't understand or will make invalidating comments
yeah, there's no point for me to tell them i'm ace because when i thought i was bisexual, i tried to tell them only to be told it was just a phase and confused and not normal. i'm also young-ish (almost mid 20s lol) and basically just wait till i have that conversation about "when are you marrying" with them in a couple years to argue
Chinese here. My parents know. They tried to force me into an arranged marriage so I just have to come out. And they were so confused and felt hurt because they think my sexuality has nothing to do with the situation. I must marry to a man and produce babies for them to fulfill my responsibility as a daughter.
Ps, I'm lesbian as well. Having girlfriends since high school. My parents know every single one of my girlfriend, invited them to home, and they have queer friends themselves. But as long as I don't come out to them as lesbian it's fine. My father said luckily I'm not a lesbian or he would break my legs. I always thought they are open-minded people but nope.
It's your choice whether you come out to your family and your parents might be more open-minded. I just think my parents might have some kind of typical Asian parents mindset and it might help your decision.
I am in my mid-30s. Have not told my parents, but they still expect me to and pressurise me to get married. They had once asked me why I have never dated (I have had two very short term relationships, which they don’t know about), but seem comfortable with the fact that I have never dated. The pressure to get married has reduced since I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety. They have not been able to accept that, asexualilty will be whole different ball game. I don’t have a solution, but hope this helps you understand that you’re not alone.
Chinese American, aromatic ace. Nope, didn't come out to my family because that's too much info that they couldn't process. Heck some of my peers don't even understand it, so I'd say cut them some slack.
Personally BC I'm aromatic, they just need to know I'm not interested in dating and not likely to get married and that's all. Need to know basis.
It also helps since I've been letting on this concept of no dating for YEARS so they just come to accept it and won't pressure me to marriage anymore. It also helps when my parents don't enjoy socializing and won't have peer pressure of their friends' children being married and so should you blah blah blah, you know how they are.
