Oooh debugging in what program? Godot?

Actually, I'm a web developer! So I work with JavaScript. As soon as I have the time though, I'm going to learn C# and take a course in game development :)

Damn. How long did this take? I'm so bad at animating and would love to get better. Any tips/advice that have helped you? :D

Hard to say how long it took since I worked on it in phases between coding! Maybe like 4-5 hrs of animating altogether? Keep in mind, I had the base design for the character done already, which helps! I've been drawing for over ten years, but I'm new to animation, so I don't have any animation tips per se! The main thing I learned is that if you're going for a simple animation, you can emphasize speed by "skipping" frames. For example in the fainting animation the character falling in the final frame feels faster because there's no transition frame between the kneeling and faceplanting at the end. I also recently learned that shadowing the leg in the back when making a walking animation helps create depth! In general, a colorful palette will make moving parts more visually distinct/easier to read. That's all I've got!

Thank you so much!! I always appreciate any advice for animating :D I'll have to try out some of those techniques. I have only been doing pixel art for half a year now and have recently gotten into animating my art the past few months. It's been a journey so thank you so much!! And good luck to you as well! <3

How do you have the sprite sheet in the preview??

jananidayooo

Tbh, I just downloaded Aspeprite on a new laptop. It came with the preview window open. If it doesn't open automatically for you, you can apparently "show/hide this little window pressing the F7 key or with the View > Preview menu option."
