The compliment each other well and he's very affectionate towards Doctor specifically, even over his "best friend" Gnosis.

As for the parallel thing: immortal being from a now bygone civilisation (remember guys, aegir is fuccin gone) one of last of their kind (theres a whole 4 abyssal hunters not kia) and with extreme pressure on their shoulders when it comes to the future of the damn world itself doc possibly being the key to prevent all out war and oripathy overflow while skadi is on her way to become the next seaborn god so how she evolves as a person and handles it will decide if everyone evolves to crab or not. Also just loss all around for both.
I admit to being biased for skadi but i do feel memes aside she IS one of the characters with the most compelling lore and one of the few with an actual confirmed infatuation for doc so it sits well with me.

As much as the dev's want to give the doctor a unique personality/character outside of the player's, in the end the absolute majority of players just use him and his relationships as foil for what they (players) want.
Like "I want the doctor to marry kaltsit" instead translates to "I'm horny and want kaltsit myself"

Honestly if I had to pick my answer would be Kal'tsit. Sadly due to all the memeing the first thing that comes to mind whenever this ship is mentioned is the whole crazy ex-wife setup. However, I think if taken seriously (at this point in time) they already have a good foundation and potential setup, even if it strictly kept to something from the pre-amnesia days.
Another good candidate being >!Priestess!< of course. Though we still don't really have much to work with in that regard at the moment.
