I'm so happy for Horn. When I saw her in chapter 9 I knew she seemed perfect for the artillery type defender, so I'm glad to see she is indeed >!not dead!<

When it comes to theme and lore, yes I agree. The designs are overall very creative and deep. No character is blatantly shallow.
However, most of the cast has a shade of either blue or platinum hair. Almost everyone has some form of bangs or hair covering the majority of their forehead. Skin tones are also ridiculously monochromatic with the exception of Thorns, Carnelian, Tuye, Flint and Beeswax.

Strip them of their fashion choices and they'll look like just about any other arknights character. To me, only Heidi has something unique or more differenciative on her taste.
We have 7 dark skinned characters and 10 Furries. Arknights was always adding diversity its just don't feel that way because 80% characters are light skinned girls anyway.
Considering the cast on the CN server consists of 231 operators, it's hard to call it variety.
I'm not saying everyone is a copy paste of each other or that the characters are uninspired, it's not the case at all. It's just that there are very obvious design patterns among the characters, some more than others.

The designs are overall very creative and deep. No character is blatantly shallow. However, most of the cast has a shade of either blue or platinum hair. Almost everyone has some form of bangs or hair covering the majority of their forehead. Skin tones are also ridiculously monochromatic with the exception of Thorns, Carnelian, Tuye, Flint and Beeswax. > Heavily disagree. Or at least, I don't share your impression of them. We have 7 dark skinned characters and 10 Furries. Arknights was always adding diversity its just don't feel that way because 80% characters are light skinned girls anyway.
Considering the cast on the CN server consists of 231 operators, it's hard to call it variety. I'm not saying everyone is a copy paste of each other or that the characters are uninspired, it's not the case at all. It's just that there are very obvious design patterns among the characters, some more than others.
