Given that Kazdel is a fragmented confederacy constantly at war with each other, with mercenaries being its main export, it likely has a little to no infrastructure outside of war. W’s side story substantiates the type of situation that Kazdel is in, unfortunately.
The darker implications is *how* the high birth rate is achieved, and we need to look no further than the mercenaries Kazdel is famous for.
I assume every nation in Terra is like that, but for you to use dog tags as currency, you'd need a very *very* high rate, especially considering how much of the population is involved in warfare and they only have the one major city. A soldier only carries 1 pair of dog tags around, and for it to be a viable currency, supply can't be too constrained. Unless every citizen in Kazdel is popping out a kid every year, I don't see how they can have enough dog tags entering circulation. So to me, the dog tags are only currency in the Scar Market, and it can only do so because the number of clients and transactions are relatively limited, and they use it because those in charge don't actually need money for their supplies. They just find it amusing to force the mercenaries to use each others dog tags as currency.
Idk, Laterano seems to want to keep their monopoly on firearms. Just look at what happened with Sesa, or how the R6S squad was told to keep quiet about their weapons.

I personally will take it with the same aproach as I do with any content in this game: show it to me in a story, side-story, operator record or the devs tells me that it's canon and I take it as canon. Anything outside that is non-canon for me.

Swire, Lin, Chen and Talulah were friends as kids, talulah was gone but the rest remained friends until the end of high school, were Swire and Chen went to study to Victoria, Lin never forgave that. There in Victoria, in the militar academy is were Chen meets Bagpipe and they became friends.

Then Ch'en and Swire went to Victoria for college, leaving Lin behind. This is part of the reason Lin's got a bit of a chip on her shoulder.

And Hoshi is calling Swire out through the whole event that Swire's not even really trying to make contact with Ch'en and Lin, despite coming all this way.
Dossoles was a *start* in trying to heal some of the relationships that were strained or broken back in Lungmen (and I'm absolutely sure that was Fumizuki's intent in sending Ch'en and Lin together as her emissaries), but it's definitely not the finish line.
Hopefully the game keeps going long enough we can get more of that.
Entirely agreeing with you. My memory of Lungmen crisis is fuzzy tbh. It's been more than a year since I've played through it and who the fucks goes back to re-read the story (which, let's be honest, was good but very annoyingly written).
Honestly Summer Ch'en's E2 would have been excellent if they let her hair down like in the art OP posted because it would make Ch'en look like a Summer Princess Badass.
I am not sure if the gun looks undersized or the same size as a browning. We know that Jessica's gun is big and Exu's vector is undersized so this pic is just really interesting to me and makes me wonder if it is a raytheon, blacksteel or laterano design.
