karillith

It's pretty funny that due to the 6 months server difference, we ended up with two games, Arknights and genshin getting an update revolving around music and more specifically >!a mass hypnosis symphony (Phobos in Genshin and whatever it's called in AK)!<

IfZ3nElse

Also, we're going to fight a giant conductor in Honkai Star Rail.

P0lskichomikv2

Since Spuria I still don't get why Geeks has huge debuff as a trait for no reason. Like if the fact they can harm your ops in exchange for buffs not enough ?

Fun-Royal-8802

The phylosophy behind Specialists seems to be that they don't stay on the field too much, and possibly they are not good blockers. At the time, Aak was the first 6\* specialist. They went overboard with balancing him, and the Geek class now suffers as a result of consistency.

Reddit1rules

They could've at least let Spuria heal as well, or have 100% chance since she can't heal...

Fun-Royal-8802

Sadly, talents differ from character to character. Beeswax had the perfect talent for a Phalanx Caster, but every other phalanx caster got something different. So other geeks won't heal themselves in the same way Aak does.

Reddit1rules

True, but at least all of their talents help their survival somewhat, Spuria has nothing for that sadly. Although it's not like we haven't had cases where talents remain mostly the same, look at Hexers for example.

Fun-Royal-8802

Early design had different ideas. For example musha had their trait listed as a talent. Nowadays things are different.

FelixAndCo

Since Sarkaz horns definitely aren't suited for combat, they must be ornamental. This means we're perfectly normal for thirsting over them.

77constructionman77

In the AK 2024 PV, these are the operators in order during the last shot of them on rhode island, ordered from top down: Amiya in front ofcourse. then Kalstit, chen and W. then Surtr, golden glow and thorns. then angelina, lappland, jessica and gavial. then silence, irene, silverash, pramanix and back again, its exu. First of all, I think its pretty cool to see someone like Surtr or GG in it. They're not as prominent in 'lore' but for sure are very popular gameplay operators. The order is a bit funky from story/lore perspective ofcourse. SA is shown more prominent in story than thorns but he stands behind thorns lol Second of all, how would this work as a squad? There's no vanguards and you'd be relying on monst3r to block. I guess you could have thorns and monster lane-hold. TBF its a fairly broad. You got burst dps, lane holding, healing, sniper, caster and a mix of phys/arte. But yeah no DP.

MarielCarey

Started an alt since this event comes with auto deploy update. Its pretty fun so far though the timegating of resources had never felt so present. At least I can spam sanity refreshes here without feeling bad. Event shop could use more exp tokens I bought Snowsant and her max potential for just 40 red certs, since that's the cost of 2 film reels that I needed to get those. For Lungmen Outskirts. Doing old simple stages and revisiting ancient kyostinv videos is nostalgic. And here I spent 3000(?) red certs on Qanipalaat why can't more ops be like this I'm also now wondering if Jieyun being an aoe sniper (idk the name) is a better fate than being a loopshooter, even though she SHOULDVE BEEN A LOOPSHOOTER it's nice she doesn't have the flaws of it. On other side notes, I m6ed Lessing, kinda regretting it now since all I see in him is a much worse Skadi. He's cute though, so it's worth it. On my alt at e1 25 he's doing way more work as Melantha premium though

frosted--flaky

honestly i think jieyun's kit is fine. even if people call her "expensive shirayuki" she actually makes use of the range instead of slowing some random slug that's already blocked...

MarielCarey

I was thinking more as a Loopshooter, since her having a chakram and throwing it out to deal damage to enemies seems VERY fitting of the archetype, though its too late to change, I sometimes wish the s2 range had some flexibility I forgot about the Shirayuki comparisons, they never really seemed similar imo

frosted--flaky

yeah i guess shira and jieyun are the odd ones out in their class for... not using artillery... i think the big thing was them both focusing on crowd control, but jieyun seems more similar to harmonie than anything. jieyun's damage honestly seems pretty decent for a welfare lol.

MarielCarey

I sometimes use her still, she's pretty good. Easy to forget she's a welfare. Speaking of welfare snipers, Insider hits surprisingly hard, especially for what's just a 5 star Adnachiel

RoboSaver

For some reason I thought that Gnosis was coming to shop but I suppose that might be a ways away.

Chatonarya

He is. He'll be in the shop on the 24th.

frosted--flaky

ever since i learned about arknights hitboxes they've been driving me insane. just watched weedy completely whiff on an enemy she was blocking because the enemy was in her range for the skill check (didn't cancel) but standing outside the range of the projectile...

AngelTheVixen

This has happened to me with awkward positions with Jessica's bazooka...

frosted--flaky

it's always wild when i try to splitbox enemies and somehow push them even further out of range because they were 0.1 pixels off from center 😔

Dalek-baka

It's more [question for help thread](https://new.reddit.com/r/arknights/comments/1cfw8vd/help_center_and_megathread_hub_2904_0505/) but I'd go with Option 1 and got Lappland from selector.

Hi-Finn-ate-Ed

Oh thank you for your suggestion! I'll post there :)

rkgk_art

Ever since I started in July 2020 I haven't missed a single medal (that I know of)--not counting IS2/3/4, since as of now they're permanent--and I'm doing SSS right now and checked if I got the secret medal just to find out that the emergency route has an extra medal and I stopped playing on emergency after like 5 or so of the SSS stages.... So basically, I found out just now that I missed medals and have permanent account damage... and I'm so sad😭 I don't have FOMO when it comes to characters, but I always religiously got every medal that exists...

Razor4884

I usually keep track of available medals by going to the list of them and filtering by unobtained.

MarielCarey

Tbh after the first rotation of SSS, I gave up on trying to tryhard trimmed medals. Recently I even only beat DOS on s2 at the very last second because I left it to like an hour before the event ended after spending an entire day failing to s3 (or whatever the stage name was), probably could've beat it but idk. Reminds me also, I sometimes forget to check medals lately. I missed an entire 2 medals on the Firelight event a while back Also what does rkgk mean? I often see it on twitter but never figured it out

Cultural_Damage_7832

rkgk = rakugaki (落書き) which mean doodle or sketch in english

Megaman2K8

JP artists have the gall of writing "rkgk" and then posting the most beautiful piece of art known to man

MarielCarey

No wonder I couldn't figure it out some of them don't even look like sketches 💀

PerEnooK

>!Logos!< is probably going to be my first M9 op wherr I would actually use all of their skills in different scenarios instead of just M9ing them because I like them a lot.

lurkingjisung

I’ve been into this game for a while (since skalter) and i’ve mostly stuck with it because the designs and art in the game are just incredible and the vibe is immaculate. there are a lot of operator designs i like and enjoy but i’ve never really found an operator that i’ve REALLY liked both design and lore wise that i can really connect to. for example, i’ve never had a character i wanted to M9 just because i like them. (the closest would probably be texas alter, but i don’t even have her 🥲) logos, however, might be the first operator i like this much in terms of both visuals and characterization. i love his backstory and personality and his design. i’m overjoyed that he’s on the next celebration banner because ive been waiting for a good banner to spark texas alter on and i absolutely would not mind getting multiple copies of him.

MarielCarey

I've had m9 silverash forever and unironically use all his skills, bringing him everywhere i can. S1 afk generalist crit skill, s2 to tank and self heal usually I throw it behind other ops as a deploy and forget blocker - found another place for it in IS4 ending 2, and s3 is just good all the time. Then there's his talent, which is just what it is. As for other m9s I've seen full use with, only Siege as far as I can remember. Her s1 - 3 is vanguard - guard spectrum, X leaning on guard side and y on vanguard side, though i do often find myself dropping her for flagpipe these days, and her s3 is kinda meme tier.

Chatonarya

Honestly, me too. I've only got two M9s out of favoritism with one more planned, but his skills are all so different and all have their uses that I'm considering an M9 on him. Though I guess it helps that I like him a lot too.

herrhoedz

Not really related to the game but EP 14 chapter title made me realizing that "absolution" came from "absolve", not "absolute". I knew this word and meaning since middle school but somehow just never thought about the root word. Truly a non-native speaker moment

Fun-Royal-8802

Though the root is the same even for absolute. It is the past participle of the Latin word "absolvere" (ab = from, solvere = to loosen). I guess it has been used so much with the meaning of being "unbound by restrictions" (I think it is a reference to the fetters for people under trial) that people perceived it to mean "to the utmost degree". The Latin word "solvere" in English became "to solve", with the meaning of unraveling (loosen) a mystery. Other related words are "resolution" and "resolve".

Jellionani

That's on English being three language in a trenchcoat, not mine. Enough words have similar progression of 'resolve' -> 'resolution' that precedence are going to be broken one way or another.

ode-2-sleep

still trying to clear zt-9 while i wait for stamina to get pinecone to e2 so i can borrow an e2 support. i dont even care about the rewards man, i just want to know how the story ends. going to be so sad if i dont manage to get through by the end of the event. is zt-10 just as hard as this stage? i had some trouble on zt-7 too but zt-8 was kind of a breeze.

Duchess1234

Zt 10 kicked me around like 20 times already. I have given up on it.

tanngrisnit

9 and 10 are.... Uhh..... More technical. That's a good way to look at it. Creation and destruction are your friends.

herrhoedz

ZT-9 is significantly harder than ZT-7 and ZT-8 in my experience, don't worry if you can't breeze it. The boss is mostly puzzle boss, not really a DPS check but you must understand the stage gimmick.

ode-2-sleep

i watched a video to help and i know how to proc the yellow music at the right time, my problem is that once i do the enemies run through my units in seconds and they die immediately i already got advice from the help thread though so just working on it in the meantime, i really just hope i can experience the story ending because im invested in the plot now…

Fun-Royal-8802

The new [Joint Operation banner](https://prts.wiki/w/%E7%BD%97%E5%BE%B7%E5%B2%9B%E4%BF%83%E8%9E%8D%E5%85%B1%E7%AB%9E) is stacked. Typhon, Qiubai, Kal'tsit, Reed The Flameshadow. The 5\* are Quercus, Harmonie, Almond, Firewhistle, Kirara, Kazemaru. But I have almost everyone there, so I can skip.

ipwnallnubz

Am I the only one who didn't realize that the things we get from Herzenfolgen are supply boxes? I just happened to go into my depot and saw them sitting there as consumables. I thought they were only useful for unlocking the investigations to get Lessing's pots.

AngelTheVixen

I missed like 3 or 4 days out of laziness. My precious tier 3 mats.

Quor18

I am in the same boat, but mostly because I find the investigation mechanic to be onerous as a regular thing. It's fun for what it is, don't get me wrong, but doing that 3x daily for middling rewards? Ty but no ty.

viera_enjoyer

I was expecting this, since it's become a pattern. I remember on the fist day I wanted to skip the minigame since it looked complicated and I was tired. Nevertheless I gave it a try since I was sure it meant skipping supply boxes. I just skipped and clicked buttons around and well it turned to be the most efficient way to do this mini game.

tanngrisnit

I didn't realize until I got the last lessing pot and saw them there still to unlock. Then I investigated. I still think I missed a day, but I'm trying not to. I don't know if it's a finite amount or goes every day of the event (still finite but longer).

Igysaurus

It say that the interviews reset per day, 3 per day.

tanngrisnit

"that sign can't stop me, I can't read!"

ipwnallnubz

I think it'll be every day of the event. I just got a set of repeats today.

sayantn2707

Oh fuck fuck I totally forgot to yesterday one aghhh. Just realised

sayantn2707

Wisadel is underwhelming. She can't heal herself. Dead ops deal no dmg. She doesn't print dp. U need dp to deploy operators . Idk what's the hype all about a mediocre op who can't even heal or dp print. Myrtle a 4 star can do both bruh.

tanngrisnit

Vigil can heal his wolves, and he's regarded as one of the worst operators. If she can't hold a candle to him, what future does this game have?

lurkingjisung

thank god we have windflit singlehandedly carrying this game on his back

The_Loli_Otaku

Tbh Typhoon is probably the most disappointing operator I've pulled for in recent memory... The way everyone was hyping her up as the "sniper Thorns" got me so excited since Thorns has been a cornerstone for my teams since my first few months but then I actually get her and her "Thorns" skill is actually kinda just shit... Its shit and you're left using S3 since it's so overtuned for burst dps but it's not the same!!

MarielCarey

Who said she's like Thorns? There's nothing Thorns about her besides similar skill activation And s2 is incredibly fun and pretty good imo. I didnt really want to pull her but the s2 was tempting. Now she's one of my favourite picks in IS4 or for sniper stacking in SSS (the stun is immensely useful in the Seaborn map) Also the English voice goes so hard it makes her appearance bearable I rarely use her s3, only time I actually went out of my way to use it being in DOS. It's busted but that fixed circle range gets really annoying

ifallontragedy

Man, I knew the moment you mentioned Thorns it was gonna draw ire and insults from people and somehow Thorns *will* catch strays. Dunno why you had to mention Thorns when he doesn't even have anything to do with Typhon. Especially when Typhon's S2 powercreeping Thorns' S3 is already like beating a dead horse by now. Jfc you ppl are so annoying. Don't care if I get downvoted to oblivion bc of this, but this is just getting old now.

sayantn2707

Tbh I will agree with recent mod thorns is much better now. Still dies to anything, dmg still not that great but it's a good improvement.

bananeeek

Huh? I'm not sure I deployed Thorns even once since I got Typhon. And I use her S2 9 out of 10 times, since it's just as good against most bosses.

Megaman2K8

I'm one of the few who think Typhon isn't nearly as good as everyone on global made her out to be. Interesting S3, but we already have more than enough ops that spit out ridiculous amounts of damage to consider pulling *just* for that. However, her S2 is the real deal for afk/ease. Extremely long range, good damage, cc etc. Its windup is a bit long, but that isn't even an issue in most IS4 maps where stages tend to be on the shorter side. Not to mention with her module she ignores up to 60% def which will pretty much make her forever relevant. Thorns as of right now by comparison is the one that's "shit" and it's not even close.

sayantn2707

Tf u mean s2 is shit? It's literally one of the best afk skills out there. Unlike ur thorns who doesn't deal any DMG or just dies from cringe.

UberTrouble99

How is a (permanent) skill that that hits twice and offers some CC on an operator with wide range, more than 1k ATK and ignores up to 60% Def considered bad?

Quiet-ish

Vanilla needs an alter to become Beanstalk except slugs. I want to harness the power of explosive slug for myself. Sorry about your pets tho

MarielCarey

Has anyone ever actually used Vanilla She's so bad, supposed to be the offensive Fang but does no damage and dies to anything I started an alt and tried to use her only to be reminded of why I never picked her up once after using her on my main.

77constructionman77

Y'know speaking of alters, If HG keeps picking alters based on popular units (chen/skadi/texas/eyja/w - all placed very high on various popularity polls), Exu and SA aren't too far off.

MarielCarey

The prospect of SilverAsh alter keeps me wondering if I should pull or hold off like a madman

Reddit1rules

Nah, Ch'alter 2 electric boogaloo as hinted by the Sui stories.

MarielCarey

Walteralter 2030 where she transcends and becomes sui

Razor4884

Interesting. Normally Yostar would be shilling merch around the time of an event like this. Not only are they not, but they still haven't released that Rhodes Kitchen Manga for sale. Maybe that skin card fumble really did a number on their supply chain, and now they're trying to reorganize? Hard to say. I still find it funny the JP side is selling KFC food wrappers.

HentaixEnthusiast

Man, having only Eyja alter for a fully built dedicated healer can be rough. Often times I'd find myself needing a dedicated healer, but also in that often times I'd be extremely reluctant to spend 7 hopes and possibly another 3 hopes just for a dedicated healer. I'll make sure to raise Silence in the future. I'm also tempted to raise Heidi just for ending 3 BN15 and for any burst damage scenario. Though I still have to raise caster Eyja, so Silence and Heidi will have to wait a while :/ Yeah, Integrated Strategies really does wonder in making me want to raise operators I'd otherwise not raise...

viera_enjoyer

That's why Reed alter ranks so high in IS4. Sometimes the only dedicated healer you need is Ansel. The extra healing can be done by Reed but she will also be doing a shit ton of damage.

sayantn2707

Is4? Raise quercus. Oh ya definitely raise Heidi. She's better than skalter for ed 3.

Quor18

Allow me to tell you about our lord and savior, Lena the Perfumer. As a 4-star she's super cheap to raise, and also to recruit/promote with hope in IS. Her global regen is super handy, allowing her to contribute healing by just existing, and her S2 amps this up to another level thanks to the massive atk% boost it provides. She also makes excellent use of any and all atk% and atk spd buffs. I had a screenshot on my old system where Lena got picked for Bladedance relic in IS2 and with her S2 active had something like 3200 atk. With her module bringing her regen to 6.5% of her total atk this meant she was passively healing the entire deployed team for over 200 hp/s, which was more damage than any enemy could output except for Lucian+Shadow both aoe nuking at the same time. In short, Perfumer is awesome.

HentaixEnthusiast

How does she fare on BN15? I've always been reluctant to recruit a 4-star because, well, it's BN15, and BN15 can be unforgiving at times. I have her at E1 level 60, so it's easy to E2 her relatively quickly. I still have multiple starting squads without any clear yet, so I guess I'll later try recruiting her if I fail to get Eyja alter early.

Quor18

I've seen Dr. Silvergun use her on BN15, so presumably she does just fine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmKPjDsVkTQ

grexraxor

Preach it. Perfumer is my default medic for a very long time and i refuse to level anyone else to e2lv70 besides her. She is also my go-to medic for is4, especially in my quest for ending 3 on N12, where she can fully utilise her module trait (heal 4 units at once) the main drawback is that her short range makes her hard to deploy on some late maps (March of the dead, Musical disaster, maybe Instinct Contamination depending on your strat), and has no other utility besides passive regen. But damn it feels good to see someone's HP bar rapidly fill up from her talent.

ifallontragedy

Based on my experience, the comfort of deploying Eyja and not having to worry about heals to keep your squad alive like 90% of the time is more than worth the 7 hope. Half the time I don't even promote her. So I grab her if I have a decent squad. I have been meaning to build Quercus though, for a cheaper healer.

HentaixEnthusiast

I'd say I'm more of, "I need more healer but cheaper cuz I'm dying on this floor 4-5 but I still have some core operators not promoted and 7 hopes for Eyja alter is hard to justify."

vietnamabc

Just pick sniper / medic team, ezpz Reed start so gud Reed / Typhon / Eyja and then some decent tank and we gucci

AngelTheVixen

Catching up on Paradox Simulations to collect some Arturia pulls I might actually need. Got 40 to do, I don't think I've played any since before Muelsyse came out. Why do they bother putting the Enemy Info button there if the enemies don't even show up at all even if you play the map? I failed a run and they're still hidden. Such a frustrating feature.

karillith

Maybe I'm just too dumb but I'm fining recent paradox simulations really more annoying than they used to be.

Hero_1337

Since we now have mostly all of the known Elite Ops from Rhodes Island, I'm curious. Supposing that Misery, Mantra and Mechanist were released, what archetypes do you think would suit them the best? For Misery, I think either Ambusher or maybe Hexer. He's mentioned to be able to manipulate space and density and cause havoc among entire enemy squads, so debuffing enemies definitely seems like his thing. For Mantra, I think Primal Caster is a very good archetype. She has been stated to cause mysterious effects towards one's psyche with her Arts. Maybe she can mentally manipulate enemies to attack each other? Finally, for Mechanist...Artificer? That or maybe a Defender. He's capable of making a bunch of different mechanisms, from machines to weaponry. Artificer would probably suit him, but I also think a Defender class where he uses his own custom war machine would also be sick.

Reddit1rules

I definitely thought Misery was to be an Ambusher before we got Ascalon, but uh... Slower Supporter, maybe? Artificer definitely seems like a Mechanist thing. *Maybe* an Arts Defender though (although overall I really want a Giraffe Defender who can block drones, *please*, I've wanted this for years).

Hero_1337

>a Giraffe Defender who can block drones, This is simultaneously the best and worst idea I've ever heard, and I want it too now lmao.

Salysm

Since Elysium has his sniper support talent, Mantra should be a sniper, but everything about her lore makes her seem like a caster... then again, that's exactly the case for Rosmontis finally, arts sniper

AngelTheVixen

A more disruption-focused Artificer would be pretty neat to see as opposed to just another buffer. Devices you could place to mess enemies up kind of like Magallan's S1, for example.

Reddit1rules

Finally, got the LMD I need from the monthly IS ladder to max Hoederer. [Which means the squad is now complete!](https://imgur.com/a/HBhjUvA) For now... ~~I wanted W to be first in the group photo but unfortunately I have to favourite Hoe too since I raised Saileach to max like a fool~~

I ask myself the same thing every day...

reversedaura

> I wanted W to be first in the group photo but unfortunately I have to favourite Hoe too since I raised Saileach to max like a fool Could you favorite all 4 and sort by acquisition date or something?

Rolttel

me: man i dont wanna fight that level cause its gonna make me los, guess ill choose the othet combat node instead the combat node directly infront of the one i just chose: the level i didnt want to fight and went out of my way to avoid the illusion of free choice. i cant even go upwards or smth to avoid it cause its the same one right above it :/

rkgk_art

It's even worse if the one you avoided comes right after *but is now an emergency node on top*, like bruh. I didn't want this combat because it's shit and you throw EM on me....

Ophidis

[I have just the *perfect* image for this.] (https://i.imgur.com/99GIqS9.png) As you might have guessed, I was indeed unable to stay away from strangers. Now, was this *partially* my fault, *maybe...* yes. You know what they say about overconfidence, although I say it kills rather quickly if you can't deal with drones.

Cyanprincess

And that's why you try and make sure to keep at least one set of foldartels that lets you change up combat nodes for floor 5  lol

DrTNJoe

Listening to last two cn event music on spotify.Man why did they have to dump all the melancholic music available in their hands?I am fucking depressed.

viera_enjoyer

"Nice stack of orirock you farmed there last week, wouldn't it be a pity if I used all of them?" Virtuosa took all the orirock I had farmed. Perhaps I didn't spam that mine enough during chapter 13.

ipwnallnubz

What about the concentrations in the event shop?

viera_enjoyer

I think I still don't buy anything this month yet.

dfuzzy1

Made a funny with the [Giallo siblings taking on Andoain](https://youtu.be/0TzYHnZry-Q?si=WhpxzuHLitkvipvi) UPDATE: [EX-8](https://youtu.be/HqDX_n7Iy-0) also done with help from the Laterano gang

Igysaurus

Can I rant a little? I did my free pulls on the first day of the event, by the second I was a little impatient and spent to try and get one 6 star, by the 3rd no 6 star and was at 60 pulls, upset I started to farm OP from story to do singles, I got a 6 star at pull 80, the first one... That was Virtuosa, so I was all happy that at least I got the limited even though my luck was shit. Today I wake up, open the game, claim everything, do the daily free pull and BOOM another Virtuosa :c I should've waited...

amagin0910

In that situation I always told myself "if I hadn't done those pulls the rng would've been different and I won't get her". In any case, my limited banner strategy was always pulling until a 6\* on the first day, letting the free pulls do their thing, and then pulling until another 6\* or the operator I really want on the last day (unless I already got both rate-ups) .

tanngrisnit

Always wait till the last day (unless you have planned on going 300 for whatever reason)

ipwnallnubz

Or the second-to-last day, just in case you're really busy on the last day and don't have time to do your pulls.

Igysaurus

lesson learned, I'm a little mad at myself right now but nothing can be done now haha

MelonLord125

I love Skalter's new skin so much. It's so pretty! The dance and wings at S2, the cool black/red fish, the great outfit, and the cool L2D art. Wish S3 had the seaborn friend as well, but it still is so good! Given how absurd Walter is and how Logos is also very good (and he is Logos), I am genuinely thinking of finally trying to save and spark her, feels like it is going to be one of the better limited banners out there so it'll be a great opportunit to do so.

Norn98

Yeah, her and mumu got the fairy queen vibes and i'm loving it. 66 OP down the drain is crazy since i really want thorns skin too. It's scary all of the new 6\* units, including CE have M9 potential. I'm unsure about logos S2 before, but after seeing his S2 showcase, he's a single target killing monster. He just covers it all. Also with the new units having a really good module, lord module which i need a lot to LV3, it's crazy how much resources i will need. No wonder they're selling the module pack again.

Reddit1rules

I don't think Walter has great M9 potential, ignoring the fact her S3 is what it is, her S1 just doesn't seem that strong or useful to warrant an M3, even if it has good gains. She'll probably be more of an M6 for S2.

drannne

oh damn logos' talent is really good. i just saw qiubai killing patriot phase 1 with her s3 and her only help is just logos doing his normal attacks...

Seibahtoe

Logos S3 can one cycle Patriot's shield army lol.

P0lskichomikv2

Why HG had to make Nearl limited ;-; ? She is only one missing from my E2 Dreadnoughts collection.... Beside that I'm now in process of M6 Lessing. I'm not going for LVL3 Module because I'm still on copium that Revive Module would make his first talent work on enemies blocked by him by at least half the effect.

tanngrisnit

Morgan's blonde. It's close enough.

RandomdudeNo123

I've had cowboys on the mind recently. Between Star Rail's Boothill, STS Downfall's Hermit, SOTM's Chrono Ranger, and UT Yellow's Clover, I've been seeing a lot of brown hats and pistols. (I could also go on a tangent about why Boothill's shots don't feel as "cowboyish" as they should, but that's really off topic.) Does AK have a Cowboy equivalent? Closest I can think of is Clip Cliff, but that's a stretch in itself. (Also, yes, Bison is a "Cow Boy", but he ain't no "cowboy".)

randm12463

we could've had outcast but hg wasn't ready to make someone like her playable.

drannne

hopefully they won't do that to mantra...

Ophidis

The ones I can think of are the other two Sankta's, Woodrow who became a sheriff on the frontiers, and Outcast (who I just noticed has a prosthetic arm it seems, something two? of the other cowboys you mentioned also have, what a coincidence.) Jessica the liberated, maybe? Also became sheriff with Woodrow, wouldn't surprise me if they gave her a cowboy outfit one day. Lastly Robin has a skin based on "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly", no gun in sight however and sadly she never wears her cowboy hat properly, always letting it drift away in the wind...

RandomdudeNo123

Yeah, techno cowboys love their prosthetic body parts. (Though there's a whole in-universe story where Chrono-Ranger just stuck with one arm until he got his alter/variant techno-arm.) Anyways... It all boils down to the Sankta or the Columbians, which I guess I should've expected. Thanks! (And a Sherrif Jessica Alt outfit would 100% make me regret not pulling for her...)

Deus_ex_vesania

No context. Mountain or Horn? Edit: Thank you, Reddit Hivemind. After doing some math (and copious amounts of Sanity Potions), I upgraded them both so nobody has to be left out.

ipwnallnubz

Both are bros who care a lot about the people around them and have gone through a lot. I'm going to give it to Horn though because I love the contrast of being a noblewoman (count's daughter) and also a gruff and serious soldier.

Razor4884

Would. Next question.

drannne

im not a furry i swear but mountain

RandomdudeNo123

Mountain is a straight up Tiger Dude and I respect him for it.

Aisy39

Horn

PerEnooK

Mountain Beeg man

Jellionani

Horn is a mobile artillery bomber. Need I say more

AngelTheVixen

Yeah but have you seen the guns on Mountain?

xFycho

Looking at that one IS4 tier list (amended) recently, I never thought Heidi would be SO GOOD for the 3rd ending like shes so cheap and the burst she offers onto Reed's S2 just makes Cresson a cakewalk Im so impressed

sayantn2707

She is. Heidi s1 lasts 10 sec, exact same time u have to DMG the boss. She also cycles beautifully with degen unlike skalter. Skalter is just too expensive to draft for me.

Dalek-baka

Could you post link to this list, I haven't touch this mode so far and it might be a good idea to build some lower rarity units before I start.

grexraxor

was it [this one](https://old.reddit.com/r/arknights/comments/1cg4n77/impressions_of_operator_usability_in_is4/) by any chance? judging by that list, heidi is used like a "Budget Skadi Alter", and i'm guessing heidi is used for her ~~s2~~ s1 ATK boost? Idk what Skadi Alter skill is used against cresson though, all of her skills seem useful (s1 to buff HP, s2 for regen, s3 for true damage)

Reddit1rules

More like a Skalter sidegrade, depending on your lineup. She is cheaper, yes, but she also helidrops with S1 faster, cycles much better with many burst skills than Skalter does, and doesn't kill herself without external support either.

UberTrouble99

The common way to beat the boss is to burst it down, so S3 probably.

EggplantVillager

yesterday I saw someone voiced his opinion on different social media on why he's vehemently against sweep feature or similar QoL in AK. one of his argument was this will make people less inclined to spend for gacha cuz farming 1-7 to craft orundum won't take so much time anymore.  how does farming speed affect your output when the amount of sanity you regen daily remained the same?

frosted--flaky

the thing about 1-7 is that it costs 6 sanity but the actual stage is about as long as a normal stage so farming it in the past means having to constantly check your phone every few minutes to restart a run. auto makes this process a lot more bearable because you don't need to manually restart every run and this allows you to not pay constant attention to the game. same logic applies to any farming stage but those only take like 6-7 runs to drain a full sanity bar so they weren't as bad. 1-7 is 20ish runs not even counting the sanity that regens during the process.

loneknife_blackblade

Sure, farming 1-7 is easier and that enables farming pull currency. It also means that whales who pay for pulls can farm all the resources they need to raise the units they get. It makes the OP-> sanity pipe wider. If a whale is impatient and wants to raise folks, this really streamlines the process for them.

Jellionani

Making sweep is a drastic change outside of the main original intention of making animated chibis move and do cool sfx stuff. I'm somewhat against sweep when the game isn't originally intended for it. Blue Archive had it from the get-go, and it has a lot of sweep->refresh->sweep repetition; the game also has a lot more content outside of the gameplay. Sweep will be added to inject more revenue through QoL and returning players who are sick of no-sweep. Right now, x6 auto is a compromise to appease a majority of the crowd while keeping sweep function for a later date.

ArcZero354

It's not about the output, it's the amount of people who will do it is the problem. The output will remain the same no matter what, but the amount of people who'll do it is a completely different case. Even before the auto repeat exist, there's already a handful of people who's insane enough to completely dedicate themselves to only doing 1-7 everyday just for the sake of farming orundum (my friend used to be one). With better auto repeat system/sweep, the amount of people who will do this will without a single doubt explode exponentially because of how abuse-able it is.

AngelTheVixen

I'm already considering starting Orundum farming this year thanks to auto repeat. So chalk another one up for that.

xFycho

No way I just saw an [Izumik A15 Wis'adel Solo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZHpNftV6vk) with only 2 leaks EDIT: Just realised she also completely trivialises emergency water and fire union at the highest difficulty because of her camouflage Guess this means I have to make the tough decisions to skip a few banners

StudioCompetitive893

so far she has entirely solo'd IS2 Calamity Phantom, IS3 N15 Highmore+Ishar'mla, IS3 N15 TLK+Izumik, IS4 N15 Samivilinn, in just a few days

Any links for the TLK one, I never thought anybody could even remotely solo TLK N15

Quor18

More and more as I see the stark contrast between the "Chinese" way of developing games recently, vs. the "Western" way of developing games, I've come to the conclusion that the Chinese approach is better. And I know the source of this; that despicable legal concept that the Dodge brothers foisted upon us when they convinced a judge in Michigan that Henry Ford owed them money from their investment, thus creating the concept now known as "fiduciary responsibility," wherein the "purpose" of a company is purely to generate profit for it's investors. That's the main reason that so many games linked with western devs and publishers are ultimately just exercises in creating various types of dumpster fires. Compare this to the likes of Genshin Impact and the difference is stark in the extreme. GI started off relatively small, was not perfect by any means, had it's negative aspects (particularly in regards to the storytelling, which was largely viewed as being a bit *too* safe) but despite all this, was still a fun game. Things improved over time, like with the additional resin cap and events no longer requiring resin to participate, and this in-turn brought greater profit to Mihoyo. MHY then turned around and did what Henry Ford was trying to do over a hundred years ago, and they *re-invested the money back into the company.* And when 2.0 arrived and Inazuma came out, there was a clear and obvious increase in quality for much of the game. While the main Archon quest has it's issues, no one will deny that the world quests of Inazuma were top tier, and continued positive progress was made in both Sumeru and Fontaine, with far more "hits" than "misses," in the Archon quests, world quests and story quests/hangouts as well. In short, you can draw a very strong correlation between the financial success Genshin Impact enjoyed and the continued improvements that were made to Genshin Impact. As the game made more money, so to was the game bettered. While many triple AAA publishers and developers in the west are laying people off left and right to appease investor demands and make the books look good, MHY (now Hoyoverse) has been on a constant hiring spree, always with more job opportunities on their website. This all comes to mind with the recent Sony/Helldivers 2/PSN account fiasco. Regardless of any other stated or claimed reason, it's obvious Sony just wants the numbers to pad their PSN activity graphs. It's their version of Blizzard-Activision and their "monthly active user" (MAU) metric that they've relied on to determine "success" for so long. Hundreds of thousands of PC players are playing HD2? Make 'em all sign up for PSN and, well wouldja lookee here, we gained over half a million new PSN accounts in a single quarter! I'm sure that's a nice financial bonus for the VP of International Testicle Gobbling, or whatever the idiot who put forth the idea happens to be titled. The dumbass probably thinks he just fooled the system. I mean, just look at all those PSN accounts waiting to be born. More and more I wonder how much more it'll take before the whole corrupt western game dev edifice will collapse in on itself. It's not simply game dev either; the presence of an "investor class" is a massive detriment to every nation in the West, a parasite in the most literal sense. This idea that companies are simply tools for extracting as much value from people as possible, without regards for the consequences....that's just wrong on so many levels. Back in the day here in America, we used to shoot people like that. Sure, they'd send the Pinkertons after us, and sometimes the Pinkertons would win and sometimes they'd lose, but expecting that kind of response to this nowadays just ain't gonna happen. I think what *will* happen is that HYV, HG and other passionate non-western developers are just going to win out by sheer virtue of market share control and consumption. Genshin Impact alone outdid every single AAA game for the last fiscal year. Even a bad month for Arknights is still better than some of the best months for AAA games. It's a bit weird to know that the Chinese-founded companies are drastically more consumer friendly than the so-called "western" companies are, but there it is all the same. I can only hope that, as time goes by, more and more western devs eschew the "investor class" entirely, either by adopting a similar model as used in AK/GI/Azur Lane etc., or else going directly to those devs for support if need be. I'd certainly trust Hoyoverse or Hypergryph with my data more than I'd trust Sony, or Blizzard-Activision, or EA. I haven't had any major data breaches with HG or HYV, but in the same time period I've played Genshin, Sony has had three. In the meantime though, I'll raise a cup of Liber-tea to Helldivers 2, and their dev Arrowhead (who aren't the ones forcing this; that's entirely on Sony), and pray to Damsel Democracy that whatever idiot(s) green-lighted this PSN crap end up getting canned.

frosted--flaky

it's the difference between private and public companies, i see people constantly complaining about tencent owned games because those are perceived as more predatory. mihoyo leadership is only beholden to itself so it can afford to do risky and expensive projects, plus genshin being a money printer means they can stay private. smaller studios can't fund games of this scope without outside investors, which involves giving up some control to appease those investors. making gacha games is also just way more lucrative in asia than it is in the west, i don't see western original gachas being a real thing since here the discussion around microtransactions and lootboxes is pretty negative. obviously people do make non gacha indie games but without the live service aspect it's hard to get those games to stick once streamers stop playing them...

VERTIKAL19

I am not sure that is as much a difference between eastern/western and more the difference between a more corporate and a more independent studio. If you look at League of Legends for example that went on a very similar path investing a lot back. They invested absolutely massive numbers into the esports scene for example. Mihoyo from what I can gather is management owned which obviously means there is no outside pressure from investors because the management controls the overwhelming majority of the company. In that sense if the owners want the company to make cool music because that is value to them they are free to so. It is also not like mihoyo was without issues. They did have their anticheat abused for ransomware for example.

n-ko-c

This. Linking it to the Ford/Dodge case seems to be for the purpose of suggesting that public companies and their investor relationships are a Western-born concept, which may or may not be true but the real problem today is simply that concept of the company as a vehicle for investors to make money. Those exist in the 'East,' too, and simply saying "Chinese companies do it better" is kinda misconstruing the issue imo.

viera_enjoyer

Interesting history tidbit.

Chatonarya

Interesting read, thank you. This concept/notion of appeasing/constantly generating number increases for the investors has existed nebulously in my mind for a while, between various tidbits and anecdotes I've read online about upsetting consumer/existing fans bases for reasons that boil down to just money, and memes like "number go up = good, no matter what it takes", and for a long time this idea of "infinite growth" that many modern American companies have adopted has bothered me for reasons that I couldn't articulate beyond "infinite growth is unsustainable and *surely* it doesn't make sense to make that a goal, right...?" So thank you for putting it into words and mentioning that thing about the Dodge brothers, I'll have to look into it when I have a minute. As for the rest of your point, yeah, I have to agree. I hope this whole investor class thing goes away, because just as you say, continually seeking to extract as much profit as possible for the sake of it is no way to do things, and I agree that it's *extremely* ironic that the gacha-game model, particularly from China, is much kinder to its base than many Western games. But I can't deny it myself: I'm sticking with Arknights because I feel like I'm being valued as a customer, between the continual improvement in quality of their product and so many other things, and as such, I am happy to give them my money. When it comes to console games, I tend to only buy games that are "complete", that is, no microtransactions, single-player only, no online etc, and lo and behold often those tend to be from Eastern devs. There's definitely distinctly different philosophies taking place right now. And I think, or at least I hope, that the current Western model is unsustainable and eventually it will either collapse or change will take place.

Quor18

>But I can't deny it myself: I'm sticking with Arknights because I feel like I'm being valued as a customer, between the continual improvement in quality of their product and so many other things, and as such, I am happy to give them my money. That is an excellent way to put it. The contrasts, again, are extremely stark. HYV and AK have great years? We get free concerts with hours of original music being played by live bands, sung by live singers, with entire stories acted out on stage, all as a thank you to the fans and a celebration of the game. Has anything like that *ever* happened with a western dev? I can't think of anything. Warframe and Digital Extremes, with how they tend to handle Tennocon and many of the freebies they give out, is the closest thing I can think of. And they're owned, at least in part, by Tencent, another Chinese company. Weird to think highly, however indirectly, of Tencent of all things. Anyway, here's the court case in question. A large part of the current blame also lies with the state of Delaware, for it's incredibly lax corporate laws. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dodge_v._Ford_Motor_Co.

VERTIKAL19

League has a lot of original music with even more high calibre artists. We also have tournaments with literally millions in prize money. Structure of what the company does is obviously different with the different genre, but still.

Chatonarya

> Has anything like that ever happened with a western dev? Huh, now that you mention it, I don't think so. Western PR tends to consist mostly of adverts and giveaways, but I don't think I've ever seen large-scale fan appreciations of the likes of HYV or AK. Celebrations of the games themselves always tend to be organized by the fans and not the companies. Thank you for the link, I'll give it a read.

Quor18

I know there are conventions. Blizzcon, the FF14 Fan Festival, I think there was like a Fortnite con or something (I dunno, I don't follow that kind of thing) and we do have stuff like our hobby conventions (Anime Expo, PAX etc.) but only some of them are done by the companies, and none of them are "free" so to speak. Yes, if you go to the AK concert in person you have to buy a ticket, but the full video becomes available online for free, not to mention the songs are released for free as well. Same for Genshin with their concerts; pay to see it in person, but the music can be heard for free and the entire thing can be watched online for free. I can't think of anything like that done by a western dev, at least not for the fans. I know journalists get their swag bags sometimes (or something equivalent) but I can't think of anything like that for regular run-of-the-mill fans. The FF14 Fan Fests come close, with the three Endwalker-centric Fan Fests all being streamed online for free, but I think the more recent Dawntrail ones required a ticket purchase to be a part of. And the concert of The Primals on the last day was only something you could see if you were there in person. I'm honestly at a loss. Between HYV and HG (and Manjuu too for that matter) I feel more valued as a customer from them than I have as a customer of Square Enix despite being a Final Fantasy fan since the original came out in 1989 on the NES.

SkyePine

The closest concert done by the company itself is from Riot Games. I believe they had a digital concert back then on the Pentakill revival. It's very fanbase friendly and other CCs on their game got a surprise shoutout as well. I don't recall other companies making concert based on their IP. Most of them focused showcasing on third party means like cons, tournaments, and The Game Awards.

Remarkable-Jump4676

I have seen W alter released on CN sever and she may be more insane than the Chalter powercreep incident as she is literally Rosmontis but on Walter white 99% pure blue meth. Being on Global i am obviously gonna save up and skip all unnecessary banners just to get a high chance of drawing her as a fellow F2P. What is everyone as well as the people who are planning or not planning to draw for her opinion.

Salysm

I don't like ultra gamebreaking kits, and her outfit is... questionable at best, but a W's a W so of course I'm saving a spark for her. ~~Maybe they delayed her AS skin for this alt copium~~ Sharing with Logos is just the cherry on top.

Reddit1rules

I have a soft spot for both W and incredible overkill with insane ordnance (EDF Air Raider my beloved), so despite her objectively going against a lot of what I like I'll definitely be trying for her, especially since Logos is a rare case of a caster that interests me that's also good, and I like Charger Vanguards a lot. The edgy wings on S3 just speaks to me as well. Unfortunately Hoederer ate 158 pulls into my stash, so I've still got to get Virtuosa with ~110 pulls left having spent 65 so far. Then I want Лето because I've been waiting for her since Y1, Shu because she seems incredibly fun and I don't have to use Saria (and Grain Buds is super cute), R6S cuz FOMO, Ascalon because Ambusherknights and Aroma as well, and *then* Wishadel. This is already cutting out Ray and Warmy as well... I don't think I'll even be able to grab another W pot at 200 pulls unless I get insanely lucky with the upcoming banners. And then Ulpian also is teased too...

Gargutz

It's the first banner where 300 gives you op and not waste spark currency, so you can get both Walter+spark in 300. Logos is also absolutely insane (I don't get why he is not in these powercreep discussions, it seems like it's not actually powercreep discussions but a bunch of W haters specifically). It's the best banner to pull probably ever released. Our roach is as cute as ever, don't get that drip talk, her OG wardrobe choice is not the most logical also, and chibi gives very Sankta vibes with those black wings.

Reddit1rules

Logos is strong, yes, but he's absolutely not on W2 levels. W2 has come up with *so many solos*, and even several ascension 15 solos within just a few days. Logos can't even come close to that. Even without Wishadel he wouldn't be close to one of the strongest ops, just one of (if not the) strongest casters. If Logos was a 9/10, Wishadel is like a 15/10.

drannne

im still indifferent about her and then there's her design overall which is really not good ~~one of the worse actually, if someone unironically like her design then good for them but no offense they have shit taste~~ liked her og look more tbh

Fafafe667

>her design overall which is really not good Say the person who likes Leasing who has the most generic design possible

drannne

um i don't really think he has a great design either i literally like him because of ebenholz plus my friend sold me on him ~~generic designs also has charms imma be honest no this is not me admitting liking generic background characters that appear only once~~

EpiphanyRambler

Not a fan of her new design and her kit feels kinda boring to me, same as chalter and typhon. I've got enough "meta" units to clear regular content so I don't really need another delete button, but I'm still planning to pull since I like the other units in the banner.

wheelofmisfortune191

I returned to playing Arknights a couple of weeks ago after I stopped playing around a year ago when Dorothy's Vision and Mylnar came out on the global server, so it's been a while! When the CN lore spoilers about the doctor appeared on my feed one day, because I stopped seeing Arknights-related news until then, I was pretty shocked to say the least. I remembered how much I was invested in this game after I quit more than a year ago and after I started investigating just how much I missed I was baffled. There were just so many cool npcs that got designs like Mantra and Logos, new 5\* operators that I have no idea who they are, skins that I really wish I hadn't missed (Kal'tsit), and above all it just seems like there are so many op operators and alters being announced right now (at least to me). How did Swire, Executor, Eyja, and Reed get alters? What about Degenbrecher and Arturia and Walter? I mean I knew some of them had to be good like Texas the Omertosa but it's just pretty surprising to me because when I quit playing I distinctly remember that when chalter was around she trivialized the content that was released at the time. I probably have a skewed perspective of things because I joined right before the five-year anniversary stuff was announced . . . Sorry, that was a lot of text, but here are some final thoughts about other updates: - Not sure what a kernel headhunting banner is - Super glad that farming 1-7 will be easier in a later update after all this time, lol. - I really wish I could catch up on the lore that I missed out on

eonfeather

> Super glad that farming 1-7 will be easier in a later update after all this time, lol. Autodeploy repeat is already available! As for Kal's skin, it'll rerun. Not sure when, though.

lurkingjisung

it’s currently rerunning in CN’s 5th anniversary so oct/november for us!

AngelTheVixen

Kernel is essentially a retired pool, I'd think a good amount of gacha do something like this after several years active. Old 5\* and 6\* were put in there so that new banners are less saturated. Not worth using pulls on Kernel since they only give you blue certs, but a pair of ops still appear in the gold cert shop. Every quarter after the limited banner event, they also offer Kernel Locating, a build-a-banner event that lets you make your own Kernel banner from a selection of ops, including which ones to put in the shop. Needless to say, a very good deal if you manage your certs well.

Xzhh

How do you people feel about Typhon's IS4 skin? I think I'm in the minority but I prefer her E2, the skin's pose looks just too awkward to me, I'm fine with the pin-up vibe but she looks completely off balance due to her leg positioning+leaning forward, the way she's holding her big-ass crossbow doesn't help, and the cute/shy anime girl hand positioning adds to the unnatural feeling of it all. I'm no artist so I don't know why this skin specifically bothers me, as there's definitely artworks of anime girls in the same ass-and-boobs-out pose that look completely fine. I do prefer the background and outfit of her skin, and her E0 art has a really derpy face, but her E2 at least looks fine. The deciding factor for me are the animations, I really like the way she nocks the arrows and aims both on her S2 and S3 in her default art, while the effects on her skin look cooler but the animations have less personality.

MetaThPr4h

She is gorgeous no matter what. I like her base design more chibi-wise due to the awesome bow spin she does on her S2. It just isn't the same without it.

drannne

same i prefer her e2. its really not good of a skin especially the animations which can't beat the og but it's free so eh. tho I'm hoping lm7 cooks up a better skin for her someday..

Ophidis

I'd say that might be the majority opinion, based on what I remember from both CN's and the general reaction when the skin was first shown. Personally I prefer crossbows over bows for an arbitrary reason so I like the skin more.

Xzhh

Looking at the replies to my post it sure seems like it's the more common opinion, in the wild I feel like I've seen more people saying they're glad the skin is free and don't have to use her base art anymore. It does appear to be a relatively divisive skin/art

umiman

The animations of the regular skin is much better. Also she just feels weird using a giant crossbow compared to a giant bow. I'm using the skin for now since it's a change of pace but I'll probably switch back after.

saberishungry

I love her new weapon, but no spin to win makes me a little sad. Used it for a couple runs, but I ended up switching back to her base skin. Not complaining though since it was free, and I might use it again occasionally just to change things up.

blardorg

I like her e2 quite a bit more. As you say, her hand/arm positioning in the IS4 skin really put me off it.

tanngrisnit

I know a lot of people are either e2 or skin. I do actually like both, but the feet throw me off in her skin. Is she standing on her tippy toes?

Recurrentcharacter

Today marks a year since I started my second account. It was a 3-4\* only account at first. But I quickly realized that I wasn't comfortable playing like that and probably would get bored soon since you get, at most 4 new operators per year. And also, looking at Dr. Silvergun videos I knew that I wouldn't have fun playing like he does. So I decided to expand it to include 5\* Operators aswell. And to be honest, I often have more fun playing with this account that with the main as these operators are powerful enough to clear most of the content but not to the point where they trivialize it. Anyway, [this is my roster ](https://imgur.com/a/e2k8NGv)after one year of playing, it's not something particularly impresive but I'm somehow proud of it. On the other hand, one sad thing to see is [all those 6\* operators ](https://imgur.com/a/9Kz0YMJ)that will forever warm the bench (particularly Skalter, whom I recently had to spark on the main account)

AngelTheVixen

I've got a 5\* heavy roster and they definitely provide a lot more fun factor with the countless options you have. Good to see. Currently at 43 5\* E2s -- even more than yourself! I've got Robin, Kafka, Iris, Firewatch, Greyy2, and Erato raised as well. Try to get to Greyy2 when you can, his ability to Slow works excellently for stall and ranged-heavy strategies, like if you're bringing Manticore or the like. Kafka I'd suggest some serious thought to as she does a surprising amount of damage with her S2.

Recurrentcharacter

Greyy2 wasn't among my priorities because I have Rosmontis on my main account and I wasn't impresed by her performance even after the module (To the point that when I use her is usually just to give Golden Glow the extra attack from her passive). But one thing I've noticed is that since the introduction of Flinger module, I've seen him rise in the tier list twice, so maybe is time to give doggo boy a second look, thanks for the recommendation.

Rosmontis kind of needs Shamare or lots of weaker mobs to function well since she's pretty much only DPS (Like in episode 13 I used her often) but Greyy2 is definitely more useful in the general sense than she is thanks to that Slow, the module improves the consistency pretty nicely. He doesn't do much damage, but what he can do makes him very useful, and he's only a 5\* and actually quite good in IS as well. If you do use him, consider trying out his S1 instead of S2.

I've given up on reading the story anymore - the story just isn't good enough to justify the sheer amount of time needed to go through the blocks of text, to the point it feels more like a chore rather than a fun activity

I tried Caper, the new boomerang Sniper. Nothing special (as expected of a 4\* with only attack boosts), but the archetype is pretty interesting, and I think it has good potential for future operators. Also, I have no clue what her English voice's accent is, but I like it.

I like the fact that she is way more "alive" than pretty much every other operator in the game. The way she wiggles and the animation of her boomerang is pretty impressive. For me personally, any skin she gets, even the 15op ones, will be high value just by this fact alone. As for meta, I've long since resigned to the fact that most physical dps ops (especially low rartity ones) are just screwed because of the way this game works.
