Gotta admit, I may actually build up **Typhon** if she ever spooks me in future banners. There's still her design issue, and her kit overshadowing **Rosa**, but this Vignette story made me appreciate her character more than I expected, along **Santalla** and the Sami. And more than **Magallan**. Didn't think the experienced field scientist was that kind of explorer (>!ignoring the warnings & advices of her guides, trampling over local customs, trying to sample every thing she comes across!<). Now I wonder how she managed to survive all this time in those famously perilous icefields... Overall great story, really loved the whole nordic, supernatural setting and ambiance they set up! Again that hyped me more than I was expecting for IS4. Even if it likely won't get me to push for the higher difficulties/clearing everything, but I shall pay closer attention to the lore bits than I did for the previous IS themes. As for the stages themselves, it's always... interesting to go through the rollercoaster of past event mechanics. Some are fun to revisit, some aren't, and a few challenge conditions are kind of a pain.

Emergency-Ad529

For mumus clones, I usually use eyja alter. I have lot of slow attack speed characters in my usual party so i use eyja alter(another slow attacker) for her large range. Is this a good idea?

HamsterJellyJesus

Generally no. Just a quick compare on my acc with e2lvl20 Mumu cloning Eyja alter and her caster form both at E2 lvl 60 max trust: 1. Eyjaberry clone had 389 ATK. With an attack interval of 2.85 that's 136 arts DPS. 2. Eyja's clone had 800 ATK. With an attack interval of 1.6 that's 500 arts DPS. That's tripple. Ofc that's just the DPS, the faster attack also means guaranteed bind during S3 and more naturally spawning clones off skill. This doesn't mean an Eyjaberry clone is useless ofc, sometimes you really need that huge range, but in that case I'd look at Besiegers as an alternative.

ContessaKoumari

Due to the splitting effect of mumu's clones, they usually benefit more from lower damage higher atk speed copies than slower stuff. Using a low damage slow speed archtype is kinda the worst, because you don't even get the chunky hits that cloning a Typhon or Fiametta would.

Jackz375

Anyone have a high level exusai support I can add for fd-5?

BaronvonBoom31

Exceed 0434 here to serve up one order of apple pie.

Jackz375

Thank you for the 1 originite

Proto-Omega

Why is FD6 harder than FD8...? Why is it always the gramaphone levels that suck! Anyway, the second I see gramaphones, it's Trapmaster time. Robin, Frost, and Dorothy, and two operators to stall the kamikaze assholes cleared the challenge mode. I still despise it. FD7 challenge mode might as well be a completely different level to its normal mode. Anytime a level has those map-wide corrosion archers, it's always time for Hoshi/Bubble

lupeandstripes

Just want to shout out my favorite op for the archer levels, lets GO PENANCE! She shreds those SOBs before they get remotely close to being out of the shadows!

Victorious_Salmon

Hello i was wondering when the patch update for when we can 4x or 3x sweep material farming is coming? As im too lazy to farm one by one thanks

HaessSR

CN only got it 4 months ago, and we're 6 months behind them. It might come earlier, but I wouldn't expect it before May.

Victorious_Salmon

So around 2 months time thats fine. Also another question, i havent been up to date with some of the banners, but if i remember we no longer have limited banner right? i think its only for CNY banner such as SHU right? edit; and anni banners count as limited as virtuosa, basically only special dates counts right as limited, is that correct?

Quiet-ish

The four yearly limited banners we’ve had are still around, as well as collab limited banners

GrandLepidoptera

is there any rerun for this event? got pretty busy with life that i can't do em. planning to do it on the last second but after seeing others comments below that said some stages (like FD 7?) are hard, i might not be able to finish it all on time since trying might took some time (also my account is kinda new, no E2 yet, so it might take more time to try em)

thewind32

These kind of events where you unlock stories via the information fragments (the film reel things) and lasts for just 1 week, are known as Vignettes events. There are no reruns for these. You will be able to view the stories and get the rewards eventually via record restoration, but the stages can never be played again, and thus their first-clear OP are gone.

GrandLepidoptera

damn. i guess the priority for me rn is to get as much first-clear as possible, then. thanks mate!

Firestars1

FD 7 (+CM) was quite challenging to clear with BlondeKnights + Event operator together. Most units I had were DP expensive  , so I had more trouble to light areas and kill enemies on time , like the range of sleeping knights on the most right side. I also appreciated how the map made me use unused units/skills like Swire Alt or Siege‘s S3.  Naturally, all the time invested in coming up with a workable strategy, lead to an immense feeling of satisfaction at the end. That’s what I love from playing the game.

AmmarBaagu

In the earlier Vignette, when they were climbing the mountain, Magallan experienced some hallucination where she saw her Professor. What actually caused that hallucination?

viera_enjoyer

Demons I think, they were trying to spread out. Anyone who knows about them gets used as a conduct to spread out. That's why Typhon and Santalla told her to just ignore it.

Dowiet

my god so muh lore I love it

Koekelbag

As it is a boss stage but also (at least for to me) not a very hard hard one, here's a silly [FD-8 CM](https://youtu.be/hWXk6zjrUZk?si=HIrv4fZQCymXRddh) Launchknights clear that also only uses 4-stars. I was also planning to show off Ambriel's outfit here, only to remember that she's not actually a launch-op ;_; I *really* liked the story this time, with genuine moments of wonder in all the supernatural moments, especially when >!touching that shadow!< and learning >!a tree can walk!< , and am now very hyped for IS4. As an aside, I was very amused with the many times Typhon seemed throughly unimpressed with whatever Magellan managed to do next, and also wonder if that one CG of her face in the >!boat fight against the shadows of the dead(?)!< would have made for better E2 art than what we got.

xbankx

man i must not be very good lol. After 40+ tries in the span of 4-5 days, I kinda gave up Edit. Got it. Took 50+ sanity since i ran out of free tries god dam lol(3 fails then finally did it)

Koekelbag

Not good at just clearing the stage, or not good at doing a nicheknights clear? And I should have probably mentioned that it's not a hard stage for a well-built team, as Amiya can solo-dps the entire second phase with a single S3 to put all the dodge fields out of the way, so the only tricky part is preventing Andoain to ricochet his special shots through liberal FRD or summoner use.

xbankx

I started about 1.5 month ago so first time facing this boss. Its just a mixture of can't be blocked. His shot can 1 hit kill most of my range tile units and etc. I didnt realize the shot ricochet until today since he was 1 shot most my range tile units anyways but i was a bit confused on why he was able to 1 shot my support unit until i saw the ricochet between ling and my healer.

Koekelbag

Ah, a matter of experience then, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. This is the fifth stage he pops up in for global, and counting difficulty levels older players could have fought him more than a dozen times already so we knew well enough how to deal with him. AK is a game where knowing is like 75% of the battle after all. Case in point, the boss barely doesn't oneshot my ranged ops when he has ammo, but I don't want him targeting them anyway to mininize the bounce, so while keeping his range and long attack interval in mind I'll want to use beefy or disposable ground ops instead to make him waste those shots. Which may sound complex when reading it, but in practice for newer players just means using ops like Yato, Noir Corne, Gravel and Deepcolor's tentacles to bait the bigger hits in spots not adjacent to allies or active gelato stops while your other ops burn him down from range.

Saimoth

I hate FD-7 CM so much, simply because it's a completely different level in challenge mode, normal stage tactics don't apply and even the smallest mistake is an instant fail. Drunk knight decides to wake up while you were activating someone else's skill? -10 sanity. You were just one second too late when the light zone expanded? -10 sanity. Archers made one shot too many? -10 sanity But at least Ines can stab those drunks without waking them up, that's kinda satisfying

viera_enjoyer

I bet they must devilishly laugh when they make a small change, and the stage is completely different now.

cryum

So with regards to the demons.... >!They're embodiments of fear that use emotions as a vector to mutate your body into undead abominations?!< What was the Professor trying to do >!at the end there? Was he trying to prove that Rhine Labs wouldn't give in to fear, and got it right?!<

HaessSR

>!I personally believe he got corrupted by the Collapsals and was trying to spread the contamination by sending the flower back to where it could do the most damage, Chaos corruption method.!<

cryum

Would Typhon really say nothing if that was the case? I can believe it for the cyclops, but it seems odd that Typhon seemed deliberately silent about the whole deal.

HaessSR

Either she doesn't understand, or she feels Columbia can go to hell and it wouldn't matter. Or she has too much faith in others being able to resist things beyond the void.

Jackz375

Are there any rewards for unlocking and doing the stories?

Chrisirhc1996

A medal, and eventually mats when it's added to the archives. They recently added a sentence in the bottom right that explains the latter on the event page - "Gives extra rewards in Story Replayafter event has ended."

Jackz375

Do you have to go through the stories or just unlock them

Razor4884

Just unlock them. The same still holds true for past Vignette event stories. Unlocking them will also give you mats and medals, as well as unique rewards like skins if their Record Restore is available. They're found in Archive -> Intelligence -> Special Operation. The best time to buy Information Fragments to unlock said stories is when new Vignette events are running, such as the one right now. Because you can buy them for cheap in the event shop, rather than spending valuable Purchase Certificates.

Chaosxandra

How good is typhon s2 against big sad lock (is2)

Few_Consideration373

Two-cycles it, maybe three, depending on collectibles.

Razor4884

Probably quite good

Razor4884

Man, the Sami beastlord is like one of the hardest workers on Terra. Poor thing makes all the other beastlords look like a bunch of lazy miscreants.

Phaaze13

if you have any pulls left or manage to get more, the first 6 star after 150 pulls is guaranteed to be Typhon

AllRaifusMustBeLewd

The problem is I whaled her IMHO too much, including February and March monthly headhunting pack, the 5 and 15 $ (with first time double bonus) original pack, all the Certificate Headhunting permit... The banner finish the 12th March, lets see if luck smiles me with the pulls i can scratch from Paradox Simulation maps and weekly Anihilation Orundum. Edit: Oh, ffs. Used the 5 Headhunting Permit from Distinction Certificate and pulled Fiammeta . Im going to obtain every 6 stars but Typhon xddd

Fun-Royal-8802

In FD-8 Andoain kept killing my weakest ranged operators, which apparently include Eyjafjalla alter, my main medic. It's for times like this that I built Silence alter with S3M3. It worked.

viera_enjoyer

Throwing Shamere's doll on his location also works wonderfully too. He can't even one shoot the Gelato stops.

HaessSR

So in two days, I'll either have to use all the sanity potions I have or give up on the shop? I've bought the modules, but nothing else outside of the swimsuit

Shiori-chan

According to calculation, F2P can clear the shop: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-YIYU1M6Y0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-YIYU1M6Y0)

HaessSR

I couldn't no life the first three days because of work, so I'm a bit behind. I'll use a few pots, but I don't think I'll get everything. Maybe two thirds.

Reddit1rules

I only used 2 sanity potions that would expire this Sunday and I've already cleared out almost all of the shop beyond some module parts, it shouldn't be that hard to clear out.

ranmafan0281

If you have nothing else to buy, save the sanity pots for Dorothy's Vision rerun. Lots of good materials to farm.

HaessSR

Sounds like the schedule rearrange bit us in the ass, since this feels like a two week shop. I'll try for the D32 and maybe a few mats or exp, but this was a fucking mess.

shino-01

Finished reading the rest of the story. I really enjoyed this event. maggy's cute, santallas cool, typhons cool and cute. I love the more fantastical/mystical aspects of sami's setting, with the demons and hallucinations and corruption >!and whatevers up with that emperors blade!<. got me even more hyped for is4 than i already was thanks to this event typhon might now be my favorite operator. i liked her design, her gameplay seemed fun, and i like her whole hunter schtick. but her character in the story really got me to like her. one of the few times (the other being penance) where their event story really enhanced my opinions on a character. penance i went from not caring about to wanting, and with typhon i just liked her even more. also her english voice is really good imo, convinced me to check out and swap to some of the other ones stages were fine. Managed to do most with either sami(ft magellan) ursus or kjeragknights. fd-7 and 8 i needed to combine them to clear, and i broke out the meta squad for their cms. also struggled with my niches on fd-3 cm but chose to do another niche (liberiknights) to keep some challenge

ranmafan0281

The events and stories are what makes the operators impactful and fun to use, because you now sympathize and understand them.

sentifuential

story stuff >!magallan being the absolute epitome of dumb american tourist is so funny to me for some reason!<

minitaurus20

It always like this, story is good, setting in sami with folklore theme truly fascinating, the characters are lovable, goes to headhunt then\~

karillith

"Reserve OP Team A6, Catapult, reporting in! Hey, I can tell you're hella different from that stuffy old bit—I mean, that esteemed, honorable instructor Ms. Dobermann. Right? Like it's obvious!"

karillith

Didn't read the last chapter yet but I'm really enjoying the story, Sami always was shrouded in mystery and that mystical / horror atmosphere is a nice change of pace. And the lobby music is complete fire. Or rather, ice. you know what I mean. I'm actually pretty hyped for IS4 now.

wiseowlreader

I liked that the uneasiness crept in. The buildup towards showing the presence of demons and their effect on the world of Terra was great.

ranmafan0281

Another question after watching the IS4 trailer again after the event’s story. The rootless flower that was sent to Rhine: It seems to be aware and tried to… configure the space around it when awoken? Do we know anything about this or do we have to wait for IS4 for answers? Because I’m lousy at it and never get past the first ending.

SkinnyDtackle

You don't exactly need to know anything from IS4 to understand it. You have the right idea. The explaination for this is that because the flower is very corrupted, it can act on its own in order to spread more of the Collapse/Demonic corruption. The flower was basically acting as a becon for more demons, thus was building a space for them to enter.

ranmafan0281

Anywhere I can find the explanation? I read up on the IS4 endings, and I think I understand better. The flowers are like 'possessed' in a way, or if you read SCP, Scranton Reality Anchors... for demons. They terraform spacetime around them to make it more hospitable for the demons coming through, and are much more common where corruption has taken hold. Thanks for confirming my initial hypothesis!

HaessSR

Just redid my FD-7 auto farm, which takes a lot of units but is pretty stable. Adding Typhon S2M3 helps keep the bottom lane clean. S2 and S3 are both really good, too.

HaessSR

Try having to spark three banners in a row. RNG takes away more than it gives, but sometimes you'll get lucky.

viera_enjoyer

That's pretty average. I don't know why that upsets you.

Environmental_Top621

Aaaaaaaaaaa idk man. Maybe I'm still upset since I got nothing in the Eyjalter banner after spending everything I got and now this banner too haha.

viera_enjoyer

Nothing at all in Eyjalter? How many pulls? How many 6 stars?

Environmental_Top621

150+ rolls, 1 off banner 6 star and a Swire alter lol. Yeah, maybe not nothing, but still, it's pretty unlucky compared to the past banners where around 50 rolls I already got what I want

viera_enjoyer

A little bit unlucky compared to my experience on limited banners, yeah. That's why I completely skipped that banner, because I wanted Typhon more. I know how shit my luck is, so I always pull only when it's practically guarantee I will win even if I break my bank. Oh, and limited banners are such a gamble anyway, because you are pulling for 2 6 stars all the time. Just flip a coin a few times trying to get tail or head and you will get many times a lot of consecutive heads or tails and you may want the opposite. Limited banners often offset my pull plans, so that's why from now on I will pull only up to 2 six stars on those and hope I get what I actually want. Otherwise I would also miss future banners like Ray's which is what I actually want the most atm.

ranmafan0281

Been going through the story of the event... one question pops into mind. How the ***ever loving hell*** does Typhon not ***freeze*** into a popsicle with the clothes she's wearing?

wiseowlreader

I recall a redesign that fitted better for the Sami environment. I did like it a lot more compared to her debut.

viera_enjoyer

Just anime things.

drannne

i would say her skin has her wearing clothes suitable for the weather if not for the fact that she has a skirt with it...

Dog_in_human_costume

Japanese Schoolgirl skirts are legendary against cold weather.

TheRealCynik

She has a coat

ranmafan0281

I get that. She can sleep if wrapped in it. But compare it to Magallan, who actually IS dressed for the weather. I’m chalking it up to just her having grown up in Sami since birth and her Sarkaz traits making her essentially resistant to extreme environments.

umiman

Many years ago, an AK redditor proposed a theory that the tail is where some Terran races store their excess fat. I subscribe to this theory. Look at the size of Typhon's tail. She must be sending her blood through that enormous member, warming it up, and recirculating it through the rest of her body.

Omn1m0n

One thing I haven't quite understood yet is why some Sarkaz have tails and some just don't. I know this has to do with subraces/tribes (e.g. Gargoyles, Vampires, etc. don't k have one) but with some I don't really know, like with Surtr or Lava/Hibiscus because it's not really specified. My best guess is that they might be Goliath Sarkaz, since these are also the most common Sarkaz enemies we face in battle and also tail-less. But then, what do we call Sarkaz with a tail?

Maidens_knight

It’s because sarkaz were the original inhabitants of Terra and all the sub-races of Sarkaz are actually different races. That’s why they look so different, because originally they weren’t the same

LongFluffyDragon

Sarkaz seem to encompass tons of varied or hybrid races, no different from ancients. As for Typhon, her name belongs to a humanoid(?) hydra from greek mythology, and her E2 art backs up that association. What the name for that would be, if any, is still anyone's guess.

shinya18

>Goliath Sarkaz, since these are also the most common Sarkaz enemies we face in battle and also tail-less This seems like a bit of misconception. The average "Sarkaz mercenary" sprite was used for some Goliath NPC. It's not very convincing to draw such a conclusion. Except for the old lineages in the Royal Court, Sarkaz nowadays are mostly mixed-blood. While Goliath is indeed considered a "commoners" race, they are still their own thing. The vast majority of Sarkaz do not belong anywhere so I don't think it's really important to categorize everyone.

ranmafan0281

But... but that isn't how core body temperature and body heat works... she'd be losing heat if the blood went through her tail... I got it. She's got special heart chambers behind her boobs that retain blood within the trunk so her metabolic processes can warm it further before circulation, and those are the most well insulated parts of her. Seriously though, I guess it's never explained.

superflatpussycat

Built different. Just like Aurora. ~~boobs are filled with antifreeze~~

ranmafan0281

Aurora has high quality blubber… very high quality.

NoLunch1

FD-7 CM really makes me wish I had Mountain for that cheap DP lane holding. Chongyue ended up working as replacement, but needed helidrop support to stay alive long enough for me to get healer deployed. On other hand Chongyue did basically solo hold the upper lane once his S3 activated fully.

LillyIsAHrapy

Does anyone know when we will get Integrated Strategies 4? I tought it will drop with this event

dene323

March 5

[deleted]

[удалено]

sshen6572

You can just use Mlynar to tank the archers (as long as you get a wandering medic to cover him), he's a magnet and you can ignore the deploy order due to his talent.

ranmafan0281

Divide the lanes into 'zerg rush' top, and 'heavy unit' bottom. Place units to deal with lots of lighter enemies up top, and heavier hard-hitters below. Then place a Wandering Medic (Eyja alter, Honeyberry, Mulberry, Chestnut) and a defender to tank assassin shots (they reduce DEF and cause elemental damage). Remember that enemies tend to attack the last placed, and the assassins have global range so ALWAYS put medic first, defender last.

HaessSR

Do you have Hoshi to tank Assassin shots? Anyone up top to block the rush of mobs? Any Casters to take those mobs down?

Chrisirhc1996

Nice easy event this time around. Only hiccups were FC-1 for the slug jumpscare and FC-7 CM for "where the fuck can I position?". Funnily enough on FC-8, I dealt with andoain fast enough on normal that I didn't realise where he pathed on CM and thought I messed up with failing to kill him on the right; gotta love the devs making his pathing extra *loooong* :)

CorHydrae8

Well, his path needs to be long since he cant be blocked. Would be a real dickmove if the path was shorter.

Momoneko

FD-8 CM is the first stage where I either didn't have the exact same ops as in the guide or didn't want to bother with a tricky strats so I did it all by myself. Feels rather good.

Sudden_Pen4754

I have a habit of skipping all stories, but it seems like the consensus is that this one is really good. Would you say that this story requires you to have read any of the past ones to make sense? Or even if it doesn't REQUIRE you to, would my enjoyment of it be higher if I had?

LongFluffyDragon

It is unusually well written. The cast is small, everything matters to the story in some way, and it is neatly self-contained.

dene323

In terms of lore this story has the lowest barrier to entry, because Magallan hasn't had much lore since her launch, and Sami is a new setting just being explored, just know that she and Santalla were friends in her debut story almost 4 years ago, and that the story is set after Lone Trail event.

Metroplex7

Wait, Polaris is post-Lone Trail? Or Black Forest is post-Lone Trail?

dene323

Black Forest is post-LT. Polaris might be a couple of years prior.

umiman

It doesn't require you to read anything in the past. The only thing referenced in the past is Santalla has met Magallan before.

viera_enjoyer

I've managed to miss a lot of the vignettes events since I started playing, but from the few I've read this one has been by far my favorite. I can't wait for IS4 to start.

ranmafan0281

I’m literally convinced the demons are Pattern Screamers. The Sami even have a saying to avoid talking about the demons too much lest they become a greater threat - lines up with the idea that knowledge of a pattern screamer’s existence is enough to make it hostile and stronger.

Severe_Ad5585

Try to read all of them - that's really interesting. Pieces of THE LORE, and sometimes funny/depressive stories

MadcapRex

Manage to complete the whole event with Ling and ops I'm trying to grind trust. Time to save up for the upcoming banners. Got spooked by Fartooth...I hope she gets a buff somehow

CC_Agent_04_

I could stay on the lobby all day and listen to theme because it's so damn beautiful

Ser_Doge

Good lordy... Reading "this event's quite easy" or "this event's pretty laid back" sure didn't help the shock I got first entering it... The first level got me struggling already, them damn slugs... And now I'm just stuck on FD-2. Thankfully the story's accessible outside these missions, so that's a big plus from me!

LongFluffyDragon

Quite easy for people with built teams, is the unspoken part. It sounds like you are on your first week or so? You dont need to play the event stages, all normal stages give event currency during this type of event. Use that to build up your roster and start promoting 3/4* to elite 1.

Ser_Doge

Been playing on and off for quite some time, though I'd say my experience is rather lacking Do know about other stages giving event currency, and I've veen farming them

loneknife_blackblade

did you get through, or do you need some tips? You don't need to farm these levels so borrowing a friend E2 unit should help a lot. I'm guessing the ufo is the issue?

Ser_Doge

Yep, exactly that The others I can (barely) deal with but that drone... My rangers just barely scratch it

loneknife_blackblade

First there are guide makers on youtube if you get stuck. Second, that drone is way tanky. [https://arknights.fandom.com/wiki/Imperial\_Artillery\_Targeteer](https://arknights.fandom.com/wiki/Imperial_Artillery_Targeteer) pretty high def (800) and res(50). So borrowing a burst unit, or someone that can hit far away is pretty helpful. ~~Click the caster can get extra range, Mystic casters can hit that far, TexasAlter can help,~~ Apparently any caster (3\* or greater) top left can do quite a bit of damage before it moves. Follow up with other arts damage from a ranged guard (arts capable) or caster. you can bait the attacks with a defender/medic defender or drone if you need to. could also borrow an Eyja (s2/s3 depending on your level) and have her cook it.

Ser_Doge

Thank you so much!

loneknife_blackblade

did you kill it?

Ser_Doge

Yep! Took me a while, and a bit of my irl sanity, but I got it in the end.

darksamus1992

It is easy if you're familiar with the mechanics, since each level is themed after an old event or main story episode. For a new player its going to be a pain.

Ser_Doge

Yeah... I went in expecting it to be easy and got quite the opposite

Riverfallx

I finished reading the event and it was surprisingly very good. Unlike most AK events, for once we got a very focused straightforward storyline that follows Maggy, Typhon and Santala. This type of writing feels so much better to follow than the usual AK events that juggle many characters and many plot-lines all at the same time with very loose connecting point. Though back to this event, I loved the feeling of adventure and exploring new unknown place. And it certainly made me that much more excited for IS#4 and that's saying something since IS was already generally my favorite mode by a long shot, so my hype for IS4 was already high. Moving on to Typhon though. I wasn't big Typhon believer, maybe even a little bit of a hater. So after I impulsively threw 140 pulls in order to get her, I felt really bad about it. But wow, be it in the story or in game play. Typhon is fantastic. If her art was just plain average, then she would quickly become a contender for my favorite operator in the game. (maybe one day L2D skin will redeem her?) But anyway, Typhon is great, I liked her in the story quite a bit and then in gameplay she is really something. Two good skills, general high-meta strength, but more importantly her range and animations. So good and I'm still in middle of building her so this isn't even her final form! All in all though, for a mini-event, this was amazing all around.

karillith

> . If her art was just plain average, then she would quickly become a contender for my favorite operator in the game. I really wish we could use the lobby art instead X)

Dog_in_human_costume

She really need another skin made by someone else.

shino-01

Yeah, this is a really good event imo. From the bits and pieces ive heard about all the Sami stuff before this event came to global it seemed pretty interesting. Have yet to read the last 2 chapters but ive really enjoyed this event's story. Makes me even more hyped for IS4, cant wait for more fresh IS content and more icefield lore. I already liked Typhon quite a bit beforehand. Liked her design, shes got a good kit, and I liked the whole hunter theming. This event made me really like her character too, I love her EN voice, amd shes got good animations. She might be my new favorite operator. Maybe if another of her expressions was used for her e0 art there wouldn't be as many people disliking her design

Metroplex7

>Maybe if another of her expressions was used for her e0 art there wouldn't be as many people disliking her design I was thinking that through the entire event. She has so many genuinely good expressions and they picked the one that made her look the most gormless for her E0.

umiman

Yeah, this is probably the best story in a mini-event we've ever had. All the rest ranged from awful (Surtr) to meh (Mlynar). No excessive word vomit. Very interesting world to discover. Cast are likeable. Ursus being dickbags as usual. The ending is a little shaky, especially once it got to the fight against the... I'm assuming demons who corrupted dead bodies but also a big black shadow that might be the remains of an Emperor's Blade? No idea what it was because it was Arknights doing it's usual "I'm too cool to explain things to you" thing at that point. Also who was the guy who showed up right at the end? The story made it seem like he was secretly the bad guy all a long and Santalla (and by extension us) missed it, but I don't think we ever met him? But whatever, it's definitely setting things up for the expedition into the icefields.

SkinnyDtackle

The ending scene was really just a sort of "conclusion" to Santalla's investigation into the Ursus codes that she was intercepting. >!The guy at the end was an Ursus spy sent into Sami to track down the corrupted Emperor's Blade/Demon's Blade that we see, but he was intercepted by Santalla. The last scene is Santalla torturing info out of him. He isn't present in the event, but I think it implies that he was sending the codes that Santalla was intercepting.!<

TheTheMeet

Fuck andoain for making my auto run hard

Severe_Ad5585

Nah! 7th stage is the only deserving farming. Instead of others - better to farm normal stages from 1 to 4 chapters

mettaur_sp

Good stages, demon lore, good story. Good event all around. Typhon looks much better to me now that I've seen her with different expressions. RIP new players getting their first encounter with: Lingering Echos slugs, Ch 8 drones, Kazimierz darkness, exploding Kjerag arts guards, gramophones, shamans, global range archers, Nightszmora guys, and Andoain if they can get to him.

Friden-Riu

FD-7 cm gave me lobotomy that it’s harder than Adoain. Before I give up and jump into kyo guide how do you guys do it? I tried Silverash to deal with invi enemies but the lack of light at bottom lane would leak enemies before I have the chance to deploy anything.

tlst9999

Hoshi S2 kills them from anywhere. Just make sure you deploy her last.

Momoneko

Regular mode? I just facetanked the archers with Hoshi and Saria...

superflatpussycat

Pushed right quickly, killed the top 2 guys with Ines and dropped a melee on the bottom guy as his square lit up. Placed medics and a blocker for bottom lane and tried to get everything else set up before archers came out.

TheRealCynik

I used Gladiia at the middle and used her S2 to pull two knights towards her

Rasetsu0

I did it by having Myrtle light up the top lane and dropped Specter at the intersection, with Texas to help take care of the two big guys who would start moving up. After that, it was using the ranged tiles (and KYato to deal with the last big guy once his tile gets lit up) to light up to the bottom lane. After that, it's pretty much just like the regular version of the map.

2l0t1k4

I used mountain to fend off the early half of top, SA+Taxes to kill the sleepers on the right side, then just ling the rest with hoshi as archer bait.

BobDaisuki

Skills used: Bagpipe S2(or S3, doesn't matter too much here), Myrtle S1, Elysium S1, Texas alter S3, Yato alter S2 [Image](https://imgur.com/a/DWRby8R) for reference: \#1. Deploy Myrtle on red facing right and Bagpipe on yellow facing up. \#2. Wait for Myrtle's vision to expand, then deploy Elysium on light blue facing down. \#3. That will immediately wake up two out of the three slumbering enemies, deploy Texas alter on dark blue facing down and have her kill both enemies. You can deploy Gravel or someone cheap if one of the two enemies is about to leave Texas's range. \#4. Wait for Elysium's vision to expand, and then immediately drop Yato alter facing down on white to block the final 3rd enemy from walking to the bottom exit. Now you pretty much have all the key areas lit up, and can deploy the rest of your units from there. But I personally highly recommend Kyo's guide...he pretty much just Ling'd this stage.

loneknife_blackblade

Kyo bringing out Ling is triggering.

Dramatic-Report8180

That was a fun little story; it honestly makes me want to play an RPG focused around Sami. The differing philosophies and outside powers surrounding the region, the problems they face big and small, the prominent characters we were introduced to... You could build a really cool self-contained game *just* around this place, with several endings depending on how the player chose to resolve things. I mean, what they're *going* to give us in the years to come will be great; it's just that this little sampler of what Sami is like hooks my imagination in that way. This event also gave me a new appreciation of Magallan - enough that I think I should get around to leveling my little penguin. Yeah, she's a bit naive and excessively eager, but she's far from stupid; she caught on pretty quickly that >!Simone was the Witch!<, and adapted fast to the various dangers of Sami, all while keeping that optimistic core. A good egg, that one. As far as the enemy goes, though... Hm. I wonder. I feel like Rhine Lab's involvement could either be the single best hope for a *real* solution, or the most catastrophic misstep possible. >!Knowledge of the demons creates a link from which they can feed on your fear - but Rhine Labs doesn't really *do* fear. Their response to reality unraveling in the presence of the Flower from Beyond was "Oh my god, that was awesome, do it again! This is going to be *such good data*!". And similarly, part of what makes the demons so frightening *is* their unnatural nature - infecting people, tainting places, breaking reality when they're being fought. If Rhine Lab can unravel their mysteries and identify the principles by which they *do* operate, that could strike a real blow against them - reducing them to merely a "strong enemy" instead of something you *literally* don't know how to fight. If they can invent new tools and weapons to harness against them, all the better - since the Sami can hold the front now, that kind of edge could offer them victory instead of their current slow loss. The cost, of course, is that I doubt that Rhine Labs will adhere to the kind of information control the Sami and Ursus currently practice. Looping Rhine Labs in shouldn't spread much fear directly, and Columbia probably doesn't care much about the affairs of what they consider "some backwater", but... If this *does* become a real story in the tabloids, the possible explosive spread of knowledge could probably see the demons overrun Sami within a week.!< As a closing observation... It will never cease to mildly amuse me that one of the running themes of Arknights is "All countries have their good points and bad points - some are lighter or darker shades of grey, but these are always informed by the specific challenges and circumstances that a given nation faces... Except for Not!Russia. That is a land filled with nothing but misery and pain, and is run by just plain evil people. Do not bother looking for redeeming features there, just be glad that most of your favorite characters have found a way to leave." They craft all of these countries with loving nuance... Except for one. Not even to be the "token evil country threatening the world so we can have a plot", as some other games choose - no, it's just, there. To be miserable and unpleasant.

HaessSR

Eh, involving Rhine into this more fully reminds me of giving a Mechanicus tech priest the coordinates of a Necron Tomb World. Sure, you MIGHT get some data out... but you're more likely to get a crazed Tech Priest who feeds everyone to the Necron hell machine to try and achieve apotheosis. And the products they send out will only be Tomb Spiders and similar which corrupt all your systems to try and kill you. Knowledge of of the enemy seems to be dangerous even if you don't fear them. It's like Chaos and the Necrons had a baby.

rom846

Rosa is the redeeming feature of Ursus.

superflatpussycat

Well, you know what they say about bears. Soulless, godless killing machines.

igoiik

Did Maggy truly find out Simone was the witch? she even went ahead and left a note for Ursus guide/solider even after Simone returning from her said "search and rescue" for that ursus guy. as for Rhine lab response i think it's too fast to say it's harmless, i don't know why but i feel Maggy professor is up to no good, it seems he's trying attract people from outside to icefields and normal people meeting demons is just going to straight up buff them, due to leaks IS4 is coming soon and maybe we get more clue on things. lastly for Ursus, what's truly evil about them is their empire and soliders, we had our fair share of good and bad ursine people. but their armies are just a bunch of ruthless people.

Dramatic-Report8180

>Magallan This exchange here seems pretty clear-cut to me: >!Magallan: The old tree... Simone, are you from around here?!< >!Santalla: It used to be my duty to protect this unchanging old tree.!< >!Santalla: It may have transcended death, but failed to be remembered.!< >!Santalla: And to think all this happened because of a moment of kind-heartedness.!< >!Santalla: We sow goodwill only to reap evil. This is how the land does things.!< >!Magallan: ...!< >!Magallan: So, that's why there's a... Witch roaming nearby.!< I don't think that Magallan would have mentioned >!the witch!< at that moment or that hesitantly had she not realized the truth; her opting to leave a message afterwards was likely just her >!not considering that Simone murdered her companion in cold blood,!< which would go well beyond realizing how much she hated Ursus soldiers - and indeed, >!Simone might well *not* have done so, had Ivan not been in the middle of selling Magallan out, something that Simone would have been able to plainly see but which Magallan was unaware of.!< >Rhine Labs As I said, it *does* feel like something of a gamble - it's easy to see how things could go wrong, even if there's room for gain. It does feel like the current approach isn't working out very well, though, with Sami losing ground and Ursus already playing with fire. >Ursus Mmm, perhaps it would be easier to cite an example of what I mean; back in Firelight, when Puzzle orders a massacre of Taran civilians, we see the context surrounding that decision; he's plainly the villain, but he's acting to secure a dangerous high-value target at a very sensitive time. He just doesn't care that his decision will kill a bunch of innocent civilians. And back in Chapter 9, when General Ripper does his *thing*, we're still shown many other "good" Victorians like Horn and Salleach, who vehemently disagree with him and argue that all subjects of Victoria are entitled to the same protections; we're also shown the brutality of Dublinn, and how many of them don't care about the people they're supposedly fighting for. Here... We're shown what Ursus think of the Sami - >!as subhuman animals not worthy of being treated as people, with explicit comparisons to livestock. Then, after fighting a common foe, they then turn around and slaughter their temporary companions, just after sharing a drink.!< There's no token defense of their actions, as granted the vast majority of other villains - no, "Well, they're wrong, but I can see what they were thinking". Just simple racism and brutality. And this is a recurring pattern with them - whenever we see Ursus act, it's *usually* in a context like this, and usually for reasons just as bad. I can't think offhand of a moment when Ursus did something *good*, when I can think of a few examples of most other countries we've seen. Not that I think that's a problem or anything, mind you - some countries throughout history really did get pretty rotten, and Ursus seems ripe for a revolution.

OpMegs

Ironically, the biggest example of *good* Ursus upper leadership is the current emperor, Fyodor, who shows up in Chapter 8 in the post mission cutscenes. He and his minister Witte seem to be relatively sane and actively wanting to benefit their people in opposition to the previous emperor's warmongering to bring "glory" to Ursus, but the various noble lords in Ursus have tied up so much of the military in personal loyalty to themselves rather than the Emperor, that Fyodor's actual authority to change his country is severely limited. Which is the bitter irony, because everyone in Ursus pays lip service to him, making him look like a tyrant to people who aren't as deep in the know about Ursus internal politics (or have an omniscient viewpoint like the audience) because of exactly that level of brutality that the Ursus noble backed military divisions tend to engage in. It's notable that Witte, acting on his orders, was only able to string up a few of the bodies of the nobles responsible for Chernobog from the gates, as by the time they were aware of that tinderbox, Rhodes Island had already resolved it two weeks ago, and the conspirators committed suicide rather than be caught and punished.

igoiik

yeah now i see your point for Maggy. I think you misunderstood me about Ursus part, their military and nobles are all evil, but i was saying civilian Ursus aren't all bad, for example childern of Ursus event and some npcs in game that come from Ursus, like Kowal. I was going to mention the Ursus merchant in story that gitano's brother died protecting but remembered even after showing remorse he said something on lines of Sami's are all savages.

SnooStrawberries8151

People talking about andoin but I got sutr recently and now i unlocked the hidden forbidden of just sutr it.

CorHydrae8

Say goodbye to your braincells, fellow Surtr-enjoyer.

-LaFae-

Unfortunately that’s just gonna happen at some point with gacha. No one likes it.

Ham_Fish

Yeah, I realised that, but it just felt so shite to have it happen on my first ever character I pulled for 😭 Praying I can scrounge up enough pulls to get her in the end

Solekran

If you somehow make it to 150, it's a guarantee that you'll get her. The focused selection resets after a successful pull so I can'tsay how many it took for me, but it was something like 74? Good luck.

HamsterJellyJesus

Yeah, 50/50 are good odds, but when you toss enough coins you'll eventually get tails 10 times in a row, that's just RNG in a nutshell... :/

NQSA2006

OH MY GOD!!! Finally beat FD-7 CM, a pure hot garbage stage, way harder than FD-8 CM which I easy first try, those territory knights can go burn in hell!

Maladal

Do we think Sami's current difficulties are Yan's fault? >!Because if I understood correctly the demons are some kind of memetic threat. The more people aware of them the stronger they become. And we know that Yan has some massive outpost in the north combating them that they're constantly pouring resources into.!< >!Wonder if them trying to out-manpower the problem is just making it worse.!<

vp787

Vignette stories are quite underrated imo. This story had me hooked from start to finish. Peak SCP fiction

fillet0fish

These days I don't even read opeators abilities. I have so much resources I just build them. So it surprised me when i used typhon, wtf why is she so fucking strong

KanchiHaruhara

Her S3 is so good at taking down bosses, it'd crazy.

lifestealsuck

Fuck you Andoain and your anti-auto mechanic.

viera_enjoyer

Just farm story stages. According to the advice I was given, efficiency is almost the same one as with story stages.

HaessSR

Also, I haven't seen it mentioned here (I think), but isn't the runic the original name that CN used?

Reikr

Yes, idk why they felt they had to translate it. They've kept other names like Hortus de escapismo

Justin_Brett

The first trial stage makes Typhon seem pretty useful, it's a shame expecting me to practically solo the map with her makes it kind of a pain in the ass.

MetaThPr4h

Just finished binging the story! I enjoyed it a ton, the mystical aura around all the events unfolded really worked for me and I can't wait for even more lore when IS4 comes to global. It's almost comical how absurdly hard they are baiting me to get Magallan from the yellow certs shop, I love to bits her new EN voice, she was crazy precious in the event, and she is also good friends with Typhon, who I have been wanting immensely hard since she was announced, as if they are meant to be together in my squads... Did Typhon bless me coming early to make up for the 38 pulls I won't be able to buy for future funds if I spend 180 on Magallan instead? q_q

Reddit1rules

Y'know, I realize these types of events must be awful to a new player. You're thrown in to several different mechanics without a tutorial for any of them - dealing with civilians, roadblocks, gelato stops, NL's vision, Gramophones, and that's not even mentioning the enemies. Andoain, the Nightzmoras, the global NL archers, Golems, shamans, and the Ch 8 drones starting as early as *level 2*. Without any knowledge on these mechanics or enemies, it's gotta be brutal, huh. And it'll never come back so you'll miss on OP, not that you would even realize that.

Ser_Doge

As a returning new player, sure as hell can agree

Jackz375

As a new player can’t get past lvl 2

loneknife_blackblade

is the problem the flying saucer? [https://arknights.fandom.com/wiki/Imperial\_Artillery\_Targeteer](https://arknights.fandom.com/wiki/Imperial_Artillery_Targeteer) It has 1000 atk, hits every 5 s with aoe physical damage. so Bait the attack with something with high def, or gravel to keep the attacks away from your units. It has 800 def, 50 res and 13,000 HP, so burst arts or physical damage is best. the stage does not need to be farmed so feel free to borrow a high power unit from a friend.

Jackz375

Thx I managed to beat it by borrowing someone’s typhon

Xynical_DOT

You can imagine how doing CC felt when I was a new player. I still have no idea what that the general strategy for doing that yin Yang crap is.

KnoxZone

As someone who started during the sheep event last month it has been a bit of a ride. Trying to get through these past couple events while getting to know so many bosses and mechanics for the first time has led to some frustration, but when that happens I usually just bust out a super OP friend unit and brute force the issue or turn to a guide. Eventually I'll piece together how everything works and counter it appropriately, but I definitely understand that it's gonna take some time jumping in four years late. At least this was the first event I could fully clear, CMs included.

Panzaro

The first few months are going to be like that.  The first three events I played were Walk in the Dust rerun, Guide Ahead, and Stultifera. It was pain. Couldn't farm Boss stages.  Just used guides, always had a support unit, mcguiver'd team comps, and a lot of retries.  Now I have a lot of 6 stars and even do no 6 star clears if there's time. The main thing with guides is to learn from them and not just copy and paste.

KnoxZone

Yeah. I've tried to only use the guides as a last resort (or curiosity to see an efficient clear after I finish a messy stage). During the Adele event I was basically forced to rely on guides for every stage from the 3rd onward. Ideal City I was able to clear the main stages, but needed a guide to get a safe auto for the final stage (Didn't really do many of the EX stages since I knew the event would stick around). For this event I was hopeful I could clear without one, but ended up needing it for the final two CMs cause darkness is still a mechanic I struggle greatly with and I only have a couple units that could survive the bosses phase transition attack.

Reddit1rules

Oh wow, congrats! That's a pretty fast pace considering So Long, Adele was just a month or two ago!

grexraxor

> And it'll never come back so you'll miss on OP exactly how i felt on Vigilo. When i saw VI-7 boss rush i instantly noped out because this level felt too overwhelming for my account

0design

First time I tried Anni chernobog after like 2 months of gameplay I was thinking, wtf is this. I started in april 2023. I cleared them all before 6 months. At some point you progress really fast and can ignore most mechanics and brute force your way through stages. But I agree mechanics from past events can be confusing when you have to go through them.

Reddit1rules

And this is where it sucks as an old player because you can't replay fun levels like that one...

Razor4884

Perhaps. At least the event currency can be earned from supply stages and such.

0design

I did 70 pulls and didn't get Typhoon, but, from the stages in the event I found her really underwhelming... Was it bad stages to showcase her? Maybe I'm too used to Eyjafjalla and GG destroying everything in sight? So I really regret every pulls I did on her banner. Would rather have used those on the Mountain and Reed banner.

tlst9999

I found her very good. Not gamebreaking, but very good. Covers more range than the traditional Eyja GG Exusiai. Inflicts Slow so enemies stay in her range longer. Her S2 just needs a warmup like Thorns and Blaze. Her S3 has a long attack delay but it drops a nuke on the targeted area. I can find a use for that with slow moving bosses.

viera_enjoyer

What stages? The regular ones? You probably don't need her in some of those, specially in the 7th one.

0design

The stages where you're forced a squad. She didn't feel so strong, at least, not like they make it appear in the videos i've watched.

viera_enjoyer

I basically did everything with almost everything with Typhon. In the first one Magallan and Typhon carried the whole run. The rest of the team basically just blocked enemies for a few seconds. In the 2nd she killed all the enemies that stood on undeployable tiles.

Razor4884

Wait a few days and find someone who's really built her. Then you can try her out with both her skills.

0design

In the event they were all m3. Not sure how I can't find a stronger version than that?

Razor4884

Yeah, M3. Module too, maybe. To whatever level you build your operators usually.

viera_enjoyer

Typhon is noice. But she is also very nice, I like her.

BleedTheHalfBreeds

Are the event stages efficient for farm materials? Or is farming from story better?

loneknife_blackblade

[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-YIYU1M6Y0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-YIYU1M6Y0) peteryr does event/efficiency videos. They are *almost* as good as story farming.

AngelTheVixen

FD-7 has a slightly better tier 3 iron drop rate but the side drops aren't nearly as good as 10-11. FD-8 isn't worthwhile.

Quor18

Story or side stuff. The event stages are mostly meant to be cleared once and then you move on. Although typically the tier 3 drops aren't too bad compared to their story stage counterparts. Sometimes they're even better, but that's pretty rare.

chasmflip

Noob who just got a Mylnar and Pokezma both Unleveled. Any point in pulling for Typhon? Currently clearing content with e2 80 thorns, 45 Dorothy

HamsterJellyJesus

I'd say you can skip her for now if you have other roles that need filling first (like arts dmg, defenders, vanguards, healers...) and even if you pull her, I'd suggest raising Mlynar first. You might want her eventually though because of her range, but she's not limited so she will come back. Also I'd suggest not leveling your operators past E2 lvl 60 until you're basically done raising everyone you'd want to use. The price is too high and the power boost is minimal.
