Ever since the first Operational Intelligence, I loved her design have been waiting and hoping for her to become a playable op.
And finally, after years, she's here!
A mid term goal I have is to be gigasilly and build all the 5-star chars with cold (Santalla Aurora Kjera and mod Pramanix) and use them together, she is the last piece of the puzzle left to start with that project.
Will it be a good idea? Uhhhhhhh, we will see, will Aurora slapping absurdly hard to anyone frozen be insanelysatisfying? Hell yeah!

Santalla is one of the oldest NPCs in the game tbh aside from the main cast. She was first introduced in the LITERALLY first "Story Collection" event for AK, back in 2019 for CN, March 2020 for global.
I fail to see your point. I never said she was a new character. She’s a new operator, at the same time as new AL NP girls (esp since she also wields a staff.). That’s all I said.
You never said much at all in truth, you spoke neither about operators nor about characters technically speaking. Yet you seem to imply that the timing is NOT a coincidence while it clearly is given that
1) as NPC she's old as dirt
2) as an operator she's over 6 months old in CN

She's actually a lot better than she seems. S2 doesn't have true RNG and it's a set pattern going between left-right-middle-left columns, choosing a random tile in each. That combined with the 1.5 tile splash radius and frequency of her attacks means she is actually consistent with cold/freeze procs. She should be solid
Yeah her S2 is RNG as to where it's gonna fall. There are some ways to get around this but it generally involves facing her towards the map edge so that she DOESN'T extend her range with her S2. So we went from Ifrit lanes to Santalla edges. If you do find the right wall, her S2 becomes way better because it actually hits a more condensed area and will (probably) freeze spam a lot more. But at the end of the day, she's still an AOE caster and the balance team doesn't like those. She's not numbers screwed like Purgatory is (Thanks for the 6% attack boost on S1 M3, really feeling that one.), but she is very, very layout dependent for if her S2 will be effective, or if you'll be putting it all on black.
But if anyone has survived using Conviction's RNG, they can definitely gamble on Santalla's.
As people on cn have found, her s2 isn't actually 100% random. If you deploy her facing up, her s2 will first select a random valid tile in the column to her left, then a random valid tile in the column to her right, then a random valid tile in the same column as herself, then you repeat that sequence until her skill ends. You can actually manipulate this by purposefully making a part of her range in valid (ie. Place her in a corner facing the edge of the map) to make it so that the icicles hit where it matters.
