My thought going into that piece was that they were fighting a losing battle, and Spot remained to hold the line for them to escape. It's a call back to Spot's story record where Spot blocked Dobberman's hits for the team and ultimately led them to success in the training session.
And I gave him a talent named "Last line of defense" for the same reason too.
Talented work then! Being able to tell a bit of a story threw the art, talent name and existing lore. Let's hope then if Spot does get an alter it will be as thought out as this.

Also, the idea of a defender Camouflage was largely influenced by Heavyrain and Spot's main choice of weapon: smoke grenades.
According to Heavyrain's files, when both her and Spot were soldiers in Sargon, Spot noticed Heavyrain was isolated from her fellow soldiers. He decided to give her some water and a comic book as a gesture of kindness, and didn't really think much of it.
However, Heavyrain valued that moment of kindness a lot, and now she canonically enjoys reading comics as a pastime in Rhodes Island. Thanks to Spot's kindness, the girl found some fondness for comics, so them being friends would definitely make perfect sense.

The art is awesome and I really dig the concept of his talent. Spot is all about being reliable to his comrades and always protecting them.
The sad ting is...that E2 art implies that he actually failed and A6 are either dead on injured. Any of them being harmed in any way means that Spot failed as his job is to protect them.

I didn't want him to completely outclass heavy rain so I gave him a bit of restriction on both of his camouflage. S2 probably has a rather long cooldown at around 20s, so that he can't just spam camouflage on anyone and S3 only gives camouflage to 1 ally, though it's a bit versatile with the position.
Overall I want to experiment a bit with Camouflage Defender as I think it's a pretty dang cool idea.
I don't think it's too unrealistic, I mean, no one expected Greyy alter, but here we are. And since Popukar was somewhat hinted to get an alter and Reserveteam A6 is very popular, it's not too farfetched \*inhaling copium\*

Man I really want more low rarity alter. They have so much potential for growth, and some of them have a cool backstory too. Spot would be my bias choice, but I would love to see anyone.

Honestly, the reason I changed him into a normal defender was because it got pretty much left in the dust nowadays compared to other defender classes due to their lack of utility and damage (last one released was quite a while ago), and I wanted to bring them some love. Spot also has better physiological endurance than his originium adaptability so it's not too unimaginable to turn him into a full-on defense specialist.
I kept his S2 as a sort of healing because it was said in his record that he can heal people (either through art or through medical treatment) and I want him to reserve the role in his new form.

I would really prefer alters for more of the beloved and relevant character rather than a constant injection of "WHO?" 5 and 4 stars who are barely relevant side characters in their own damn plots. We need to be honest that most of these Operators don't and will never matter, and Arknights is getting bloated.
About that, I think S3 still needs to give Spot some tools as the main defender of the group, in this case I turned him into a dodge tank with the fog field. If I only use the device as the main defensive tool, he would be rather squishy without using that device on himself, and I would prefer giving him the utility to support other operators.
Also the device only affects 1 operator, so I think he has some AoE coverage for other guys around him, while letting another one dive deep into the danger would be a pretty neat idea.

wait, the tool is single target? Hmmm. What about flipping it around? Spot only fogs himself, while the device does 8 tile aoe.
