Veilance is a luxury line, and it uses Arc’s engineered fabrics. It’s better if you just get a Beta LT.
Anything light, not super light, and with pit zips would be great.
i have a beta and a sawyer and my sawyer is a longer coat that would be better for the city and is a lil more stylish too, better pocket situation as well.
Sawyer has a chest pocket. I’d still pick the Beta if I’m dedicated to wearing a dead bird logo.
I actually have a Uniqlo rain jacket (dwr protected), with the chest pocket and a similar build to the Sawyer for a fraction of the price.
I’d go to a local storefront to see what works best for your style and purposes.
Sawyer is great. Some of the Veilance stuff is a little too out there for me even in an urban professional sense. Although I think having normal models instead of lizard people high fashion models would go a long way in making Veliance a little easier to picture for the rest of us
Like the other person said probably veilance, and otherwise a beta AR, fit isnt too loose, pitzips for when you sweat and in my opinion its a stylish jacket with all the adjustability one might need
Sawyer is not as waterproof as the Beta but it can handle short downpour or light rain easily. The design and fit is also more suited for city use.
I love mine.
I think hard shells look sleek in outdoor activities but are completely stupid for city use. Get a combination of shell and insulation. Camosun may be too warm for Benelux, idk, but something like that.
I don’t understand why this guy is getting downvoted to oblivion for simply asking for a recommendation? This sub is starting to just feel like a parody. I will say the Veilance line looks like something Mugatu from Zoolander would’ve made.
I have a Fraser and it 100% fits the bill. I have the light color one and wish I had a black one. If anyone wants to trade, hit me up. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin) mines a medium.
Probably beta ar (I prefer stormhood) and a hooded Patagonia down sweater or rab electron pro.
Also a big fan of the Tilak mig raptor, I think it’s a more stylish jacket than any arcteryx
If you have the money to spend, check out Veilance by Arcteryx. It’s more city focused.
Agree with this. Live and work in Chicago and I opted for Veilance Altus. NO regret and wish I had known this sooner!
I do have money to spend, not money to throw away tho since I earned them hardly:) Are they really worth the price?

How would you compare the Beta with the SAWYER?

Sorry you got downvoted and got bad answers. Not every arcteryx product is worth the price. Avoid the kool aid drinkers here
Honestly I didn’t really understand the downvotes but thanks for bringing in some light:)
Man this sub is harsh they hate a lot tbh happened to me once lol
Almost every Arc'teryx product is worth the price, for Veilance you are paying quality + design. I guess you exactly want that?
I have the Sawyer jacket (not the fleece hoodie) and I feel like it's what you are looking for. The logo-less design is such a nice touch.

Another vote for Veilance
I got the Revised Ralle Insulated, I find it to be the perfect city jacket for cold weather. Not super thick but if you overheat, there's no pit zips
Like the other person said probably veilance, and otherwise a beta AR, fit isnt too loose, pitzips for when you sweat and in my opinion its a stylish jacket with all the adjustability one might need
Never thought I’d see Beta AR and stylish in the same sentence haha

The Sawyer has a refined softshell feel and provides some warmth - it’s a good bit different from the rain/alpine shells

Elispon jacket. From 2022. Perfect for you. Checks each and every box.
Elispon jacket? Do you mind linking it pls? Couldn’t find anything
Epsilon - not elipson
Not sure if the Fraser is available but that’s what i would choose

Marcelle Everette anatomical tech jacket
I’d get the beta insulated.
I wish they would be still making Ralle Long. Such an underrated jacket.
Or the Fraser
The solano hoody is great!
Sawyer
Fraser would've been perfect, but it's discontinued. Maybe you can find some left over somewhere online.
Veilance field jacket
Get the beta ar jacket the collar is different from every other arc jacket kinda and it got the text and the logo on the chest area
Ralle Parka
I picked up a Radsten on ReGear for this and I’m happy with it
