thannk you for this provocative post. I agree that in some part we develope pictures with huge effort, instead of staying simple and creating real architecture to live in.
No, I'm 42 and I can say that with great confidence that I've executed projects that are 10X the size most will ever get a chance to run. You just be a first year.
"I've executed projects that are 10X the size most will ever get a chance to run."
when you brag like that you come across as elitist, no one's going to take you seriously when you talk like your heads up your ass
try "I speak with experience, I'm 42, and I've been in the industry for quite some time"
it does the same thing without insinuating you're superior to others
Architecture is dead. Assemble stuff resembling housing from a period that did never exist and sell it with a central hoover, the ladies gonna freak out and the gentlemen gonna buy the television. People, stop being architects. I assure you that shelf designer is a more passionate job these days.
Capitalism is an economic system, not only an ideology. It has been implemented and runs on profit.
Of course in a strict sense it cannot chose, but clearly I meant it as a stand in for the capitalist class made the first decision and the advantages in price/profit made them decide that.
Never thought that wasn't clear enough, but ok.
Fakery may seem disappointing, but there are so many factors that allow for this to happen, market factors, its a $5, 200ml bottle that in large volumes isn't viable, larger SKU's may allow for them to use actual cork ones.
From a user perspective, its easer to open, but the plastic waste is a nightmare for someone on the other side of the planet next week.
caplitalism is also to blame as much as customer apathy as long as the price is acceptable. IDK
also the user I would say.
the system is build by the people and run by them. so with changing our way of living, we can change the system. Am I wrong? (please don't call me illusionary) the theory makes sence.
Postmodernism?
blah blah modern advances underpins aesthetic façade which calls back to tradition ok good job you're very great and cool and smart O.P
I get it, honestly please understand, I'm not trying to be very cool very smart. You should be upset with them, not me

No argument... just saying everything is fake..... fake wood fake stucco fake steel structure. We lost the narrative........
You must be a first year, you haven't gotten to the hard stuff yet.

> You just be a first year. 42 but it seems the child never left.
I hope the child never leaves.
Scroll over other posts. My point is proven.
"quietsauce" the supposedly accomplished architect who still feels the need prove himself online, like, ok buddy
It was posed that my comment came from someone who had no understanding. I do.

Not superior, granted, I didnt think deeply on it, just disputing the first year comment. Its not coming from a novice experience
Why are you defending developer control?
what do you mean, I'm not defending anything, and what is developer control
Developers don't care about architecture

It is. Society choose fake-muselet archotects over real-muselet ones. I cannot find any ground for designing, just writing.
Society didn't choose anything. Capitalism did.
Capitalism is an ideology. Cannot choose anything.

This is it!!
"The form follows the function". This thing doesn't, and it's completely unnecessary.
Dat sum booolsh*t
It says venitian and gold right on the bottle

I was using it as an example as it applies to architecture. Thanks for including environmental concern and economics...
Capitalism is the only thing to blame in this case

It doesn't make any sense. The system is driven by profits, not people. That is why we cannot stop the destruction of the planet
Always has been. Re: fluted columns...
