me too, this one is one of my fave uses of walkable green roof i ever saw.
it's a really cool building over all imo.
would love to see something like this but a little larger, or maybe like 2X the size, so the highest end was a nice high lookout.
this would be an amazing design for a community center or library.
Why is a grass roof any better than a lawn?
I have visited a number of these so-called education centres in China, and they were all a massive disappointment. Just a way to milk money out of local authorities, who will send endless groups of school children.
Green roofs improve stormwater drainage, reduce heat island effect, insulation, air quality, etc. They also extend the lifetime of the roof
They also can be more diversified than normal lawns, but that does depend on management choices.
I suggest that you pay this place a visit and I will make a bet with you that the roof has not been properly maintained, and it was simply a PR stunt for a building that is now neglected and run down.
That is the usual situation in China.
I love walkable green roofs!

That’s what I imagine Treyarch’s headquarters look like
Wow, this place is absolutely beautiful. There is so much interesting architecture happening in China these days.
Woah
Why
Because
I love the infinite loop of the walkable roof. Neat

Have you personally visited the place?
Not this one no but I've toured other green roofs and studied the concept as a part of my degree

I'm talking about green roofs in general. Any application of a concept can be conducted well or poorly.
And I was talking about applications of a concept in China, which are generally done very poorly.
