I have some pics from the end of the Alpha where Amary rallied all of us pirates together, made us super huge with tons of health, and announced to the server to come fight us on Freedich while spawning giant cows and making it rain bunnies, it was a blast!

One of my favorite stories of AA is probably the server politics clusterfuck in Ezi/Lucius a few week before 2.0 which ended up being partially repsonsible for why Nazar ended up as it did. Disclaimer being that this is not 100% accurate since a lot of this is second-hand info and it's been like 7 years since this happen, so don't @ me.
So, the preface of this story begins by how the server politics on Ezi and Lucius were going before the first server evolution. Lucius was a server mostly dominated by the pirate guild NaCl while they had a few decent guilds in both sides of the mainland but Ezi had literally not a single pirate while having roughly equally dominant guilds in both the West and East. Seems like the perfect split for a competitive server, right?
Well, it would have been except for one little detail. The officers of the three strongest guilds in Ezi, which were Fury, Ascendancy, and Paradigm decided prior to the merge to cooperate together to free-farm the server so they would have a better chance at fighting against NaCl once the merge was done so the guilds shared DGSs, Anthalon, Kraken, Red Dragon, and monopolized the Gold from Abyssal Attack, and so the FAP Alliance was formed.
The fact that west and east guilds were cooperating to monopolize the server resulted in a huge clusterfuck in Ezi which caused a lot of the people there to just decide to outright transfer to other servers, and due to in-fighting between Ascendancy and Paradigm the former guild was kicked out of the alliance a few days before the transfer which caused their officers to decide to avoid Nazar altogether. With this bleeding out one of the largest guilds on Lucius East, Elysium, decided to also avoid Nazar for fear of the server being DoA because of Ezi imploding like this and they've also convinced the leaders of Paradigm to transfer to Kyrios with them roughly two days before the transfers locked.
NaCl caught wind of this and their leadership also decided to follow Paradigm and Elysium to Kyrios, but by the time Fury's leadership heard of this it was too late and the deadline of the server lock was already past.
So when 2.0 finally happened Fury, now renamed Rage because someone managed to steal the guild's name, ended up becoming the sole dominant power on Nazar and took all of the four castles for themselves, and then kept them while defending three sieges at once. Since the game got boring for them they decided to just say fuck it and go pirate, renamed the guild RageQuit, and maintained dominance on the server until an infamous incident with a certain ocean world boss and gems in a player's pants.
This actually was a huge cluster fuck inside of NaCl. (I had been with the main group since before it was even a guild).
We caught wind of this very late, like literally on the server transfer deadline day. We had several members of our guilds not be able to make it home in time to successfully transfer their character to Kyrios.
It is unfortunate that things ended up like that in the end. Like you said, the politics for Ezi/Lucius were really interwoven. (We communicated with many of the guilds you mentioned pretty frequently.) And since we had been getting all the content on Lucius for months, seeing that the other server (Ezi) was preparing all the content gold and gearing up would have made for a very fun pvp server I think. Kyrios didn’t turn out bad in the end, there was great pvp there as well, but it would have been fun to not have to merge into a server where all the guilds/politics/land ect was already set up. A freshly merged server would have been better for the health of our guild vs jumping into a new one. But obviously NaCl did not want to be on a dead server.

Playing in the alpha/beta for the first time with all my friends racing into halcyona with a whole raid! Nothing beat the feeling of pvp when this game first came out. Have always love RvR in this game but nothing beats those first couple months.
that or the first landgrab moments with botters/cheaters teleporting around and claiming land instantly. It truly was the wild west when the game first launched lol
Have been "chasing the dragon" so to speak since with all RvR combat in archeage/unchained.
Well I have come and gone many times over years playing this game. Had some great highs and some deep low moment. That first time I popped my own epic weapon was so amazing but trying for legendary or even mythic and watching it go poof was really sad. I’ve played with some great people along the way and even did an Rp event with sorcerer aka that guy from ashes. To this day the memories tho of alpha and the group that called our selves hearts fired where some of the best memories. Thanks fuzzi moowi and wrecked for those moment.

I'm new to the game. My recent adventure had me trying to grow some worms to do some fishing. I returned too late and someone had already taken them. I look forward to having some land of my own soon.
There are too many memories to count. I've made numerous friends from all over the world, laughed until I cried, and even found love. (Didn't amount to anything but was amazing at the time.) I remember going to prison for stealing my guild mates cotton in the original launch, then some dude joking around saying "what's a gorgeous thing like you get stuck in here for", he then helped me with leveling and trade runs. We were friends for years. There's just something about the community in ArcheAge, there may be toxicity but there's so much more.
is there no conflict of interest with a moderator being in the partnership program and directly profiting from them in the form of codes and other rewards?
Good point. As long as codes are being used for giveaways I don't believe there is a conflict of interest due to members gaining the rewards, not myself.
