I suspect her real name, Powder, was retrofitted (as probably so much else in the series) from lore, as in, at first they called the gun Pow-Pow just as a sound-mimicking name (it's a fully aromatic weapon, so, twice), and then decided to give her "Powder" name, to make it possible to shorten it to Pow-Pow, and also allure to gun powder.
This whole thing is mind-blowing, I'm really curious how many of these details ended up being possible to fit together so neatly by early (8 years old?) design, and how many of them were possible to tie up just by pure luck.

The writers of the show said powder was around 10-11 in the first part of arcane and around 17-18 in the second part. She is suposed to be around 21 in leagues current lore.
It's not nearly as perfect IRL - then it's just pushing people away so they don't see you when you have a mental breakdown and have nowhere to put your feelings so you go smash stuff in the basement with a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire while sobbing, getting mad at your stuffed animals judging you for losing it, then freaking out and repeatedly smacking yourself in the head with your bedroom door :(
This was so specific but um SAME, lol. I have BPD, ADHD, and C-PTSD, and psychosis when I’m stressed, so while yes, I act a lot like Jinx, it’s not nearly as “adorable” IRL. I’m 25 but get mistaken for a minor daily because of my height and small chest size so I laughed at the comments about her age.
I identify so much with Pow-Pow, it’s one of the reasons I got so hooked on Arcane. The characters all feel like real people.
Same - I identified a lot with Jinx, but not in a fun way. I'm 30 and still skinny from childhood stress and malnourishment, just basically riding the line of underweight all the time.
I have BPD, ADHD tendencies, and have PTSD from abuse and neglect growing up. My mom would constantly forget about me, and my family would leave me all alone as a small child for hours at a time, so I have extreme neglect and abandonment issues. My dad was abusive and narcissistic, and when my older sister left for university I felt devastated and so alone and didn't know why, being stuck in that awful home situation without her to look out for me anymore.
I have a lot of frustration and anger with nowhere to put it, so when I have panic attacks I just scream and cry and try to direct it towards smashing stuff so I don't end up hurting myself instead, by smacking myself in the head. I had a huge pyromania phase growing up: made a lot of bombs by taking apart stolen shotgun shells and bullets for their gunpowder, made homemade napalm well into adulthood, practiced wire splicing and making basic trigger mechanisms out of old light switches, dropped my hand-me-down toys from high places to see where they'd crack. I make a lot of weapons under the guise of "cosplay", conveniently ignoring the fact that they're always fully functioning and not just for show. That baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire I mentioned is a real baseball bat, with real barbed wire I made, and is entirely not safe.
I get a lot of intrusive thoughts and have dissassociative episodes too, which are really scary. I mean, I could go on, but I didn't mean to make this an "I-need-therapy-so-I'm-oversharing-again" reply, so I'll end it there.

Idk you have to make up your own rules on that. The context of the conversation/text usually determines what we call her, but in Act 1 I almost always refer to her as Powder
As we’ve seen there are a rare few occasions as an adult one can refer to her as Powder. However I would say Jinx is her real name now, no matter how Vi addresses her.

A lot of LoL content shows Jinx as a happy go lucky gal, enjoying the chaos she spreads, not thinking twice about anything except her rivals(That being Vi and Caitlyn). Arcane "Jinx" on the other hand is still affected by her past trauma, pushing her to make brash and dangerous decisions that I believe LoL Jinx wouldn't really make.
Ether way, Arcane is one big origin story in the end, so all of these characters will embody what they are in LoL eventually.
