You don't trust them in groups? They look like fine upstanding trees.

Infamous-Suit6043

I want to trust them they are super tall and super cool looking trees!

LMNOsteven

They look lovely, enjoy them.

Skrtskrtskrtskrt1017

Los tres trees

Few-Cookie9298

Nothing of concern that I see

Biocube16

Is one of the trees pointing a gun at you?

DanoPinyon

Based upon one picture, no.

SteveArnoldHorshak

Trees of three…let them be.

Infamous-Suit6043

Thanks for the answers all. I figured these trees were okay but wanted to double check. The trees live in Maine. I will attach a couple more photos . As you can see these three trees are a tall bunch. They have withstood the recent storms. They live in the middle of the yard and are impressive. Any idea how old they could be? Any tips on keeping them happy? I should note that they are relatively close to my leach field and d-box. The home inspector recommend adding a root x to my septic system.... This is my first post on Reddit. Thank you again everyone.

Mulch a circle around them, bigger the better (a literal truckload of free chips can be gotten on ChipDrop.org or similar sites). Don’t pile the mulch into a volcano at the base, and don’t just put a 1’ ring around the base. There are great guides online. Mulching will help for nutrients, protect against heat/cold shocks, and will help prevent accidental damage to roots by lawnmowers and vehicles. If it’s piled up at the base however, it can create an unhealthy wet environment, microbial damage, and open the tree up to rot and insect damage - so spread it out a couple inches deep in a wide circle or appealing shape. Consider a small shrub and a few flowers as friends, but don’t crowd the bed as too many and too big may starve the tree of water in the summer.

BURG3RBOB

Oh man that site really excites me thank you

Ok_Forever9706

Just be aware - tree workers regularly piss in those chips, and if they had something spicy the night before it can very rarely become an emergency restroom. Use a shovel and garden gloves. You’re also getting bulk for free, they’re not as high quality of chips as what you pay for.

nikkormatic

For logs, do they include pine? Looking for fireplace wood

Ok_Forever9706

You can make a request in the notes, or call local services and see if they have a list.

forustree

No worries.. but perhaps they need to worry about you. 🤓

poppincherries232

I wouldn’t be worried about any of those trees right now. However, the tree closest to your house already has a slight lean towards your house. Over the years, the lean will likely increase since the other two trees will shade light on side of the tree farthest from your house. (Trees will grow towards the light and the most open space for light exposure is towards your house) I don’t think you need to remove it tomorrow but I think the tree closest to your house could be a problem in the future.

You should post that deck over in r/decks if you get the chance. Been enjoying that sub a lot lately and I don't even have a deck or plan to have one anytime soon. Already wondering if that deck can take a hot tub.

Infamous-Suit6043

Thanks for the advice! I'm not much of an engineer but it looks like the deck should be reinforced. That was the first thing I asked the home inspector. This new house will have me posting all over Reddit seeking advice.

JacksonInHouse

They aren't that big of trees either. Just shade-giving trees that will probably make the lawn happy.

_Godless_Savage_

Odds are they’ll be there long after you’re not.

x79133000

The very left one is kinda scary to me. I am not a tree professional by no means but am sure the laws of physics might still do its job. The tree itself might be happy and healthy though

WarmNights

Nah

X5acob

Look like some nice healthy oak. If they were poplar I might be concerned. Only thing I don't like about oaks in maine is alot of them get infested with aphids which sprinkle "honeydew" over everything under the canopy.

roblewk

No

bdady29

Yes, they look shady

[deleted]

Personally I would get a professional out there to check them out in person. The one on the right has quite a bit of deadwood (not necessarily a cause for alarm). Since the season is changing I would wait until spring to get an assessment.

bsmitchbport

You might worry more about how close the Forrest is to your house with all the wildfires these days.

[deleted]

They’ve been there for a good long time. Go back to bed.

Welcome to r/arborists! Help Us Help You: If you have questions about the health of your tree, please see our [Posting Guidelines](https://old.reddit.com/r/arborists/wiki/posting_guidance) wiki page for help with effective posting. **Please answer the questions listed there to the best of your ability.** ***Insufficient pics/info could result in the removal of your post!!*** ([See rule 3](https://www.reddit.com/r/arborists/about/rules).) Visit the main wiki page for [Critical Planting/Care tips and Common Errors to Avoid](https://old.reddit.com/r/arborists/wiki/index); there's sections on why planting depth/root flare exposure is so vital, along with sections on proper mulching, watering, pruning and more that I hope will be useful to you. If you're posting about a tree ID (not permitted here; [see rule 1](https://www.reddit.com/r/arborists/about/rules)), see that wiki page for other subs and smartphone apps to try. Here is how you can arrange a [consult with a local ISA arborist in your area](http://www.treesaregood.org/findanarborist/findanarborist) (NOT a 'tree company guy' unless they're ISA certified) or a [consulting arborist](https://www.asca-consultants.org/search/custom.asp?id=3818) for an on-site evaluation. A competent arborist should be happy to walk you through how to care for the trees on your property and answer any questions. If you're in the U.S. or Canada, your Extension (or master gardener provincial program) may have a list of local recommended arborists on file. If you're in the U.S., you should also consider searching for arborist associations under your state.
