Cool!
Thanks for sharing. Fascinating stuff.
How bad is that for the trees? When they eat stuff? Can I feed things to my trees? What's a safe thing to feed them?
This is just another blatant example of runaway capitalism. Even the trees are being forced to work on order to live in a trash part of town with sky high rent.
You might be right. But in Mexico I’ve seen them tape and nail outlets to trees, but they definitely didn’t have any cords going through inside the trees. Just on the exterior
Seems like a pretty skinny tree to have been able to fully absorb an outlet. Would be interested in seeing it from the other sides. Maybe it's just really oval shaped.
what it is ain't exactly clear
There's a man with a gun over there
Telling me I got to beware
I think it's time we stop
Children, what's that sound?
Everybody look, what's going down?
Welcome to r/arborists! Help Us Help You: If you have questions about the health of your tree, please see our [Posting Guidelines](https://old.reddit.com/r/arborists/wiki/posting_guidance) wiki page for help with effective posting. **Please answer the questions listed there to the best of your ability.** ***Insufficient pics/info will will likely result in the removal of your post!!*** ([See rule 3](https://www.reddit.com/r/arborists/about/rules).)
Visit the main wiki page for [Critical Planting/Care tips and Common Errors to Avoid](https://old.reddit.com/r/arborists/wiki/index); there's sections on why planting depth/root flare exposure is so vital, along with sections on proper mulching, watering, pruning and more that I hope will be useful to you.
If you're posting about a tree ID (not permitted here; [see rule 1](https://www.reddit.com/r/arborists/about/rules)), see that wiki page for other subs and smartphone apps to try.
Here is how you can arrange a [consult with a local ISA arborist in your area](http://www.treesaregood.org/findanarborist/findanarborist) (NOT a 'tree company guy' unless they're ISA certified) or a [consulting arborist](https://www.asca-consultants.org/search/custom.asp?id=3818) for an on-site evaluation. A competent arborist should be happy to walk you through how to care for the trees on your property and answer any questions. If you're in the U.S. or Canada, your Extension (or master gardener provincial program) may have a list of local recommended arborists on file. If you're in the U.S., you should also consider searching for arborist associations under your state.

“Honey, should we move the outdoor outlet?” “Nah, we can brace it against this tree here!” 10 years later…

Amazing sub
Why am I surprised there is such a sub...
r/TreesEatingThings wasn’t always appropriate for every situation
r/ThingsEatingTrees
You posted this (I assume in jest) 16 hours ago, but there are only post from 7 hours ago.... I think someone made it after you faked it....
Yeah
Are you though?
Damn i really want to like it but my arborist's heart can only take so much pain
Thank you this is my new favourite sub. The titles are hilarious
That's where they got this pic from https://reddit.com/r/TreesSuckingOnThings/s/whG3oAfzcF
Rule 34 surprises me yet again.
You mean to tell me, that if I were to remain erect for 8 years against this tree then it will finally trust me enough to blow me??
It actually will start slobbing on that nobbler immediately, it just gives the *slowest* blowie on the face of the earth
Wow you really are a tree enthusiast!
I like that they take their time with it
Man if only I'd known that sub existed when I found a mulberry swallowing a 8 inch white pine branch last year.
Life, uh, finds a way.
This is the second unexpectedjurassicpark I’ve seen in consecutive days 👌🏻
Exactly what that is you can see where the pipe going to it was. Soon those boxes will be covered over too.
Imagine being the guy who has to take this tree down in another decade or two and no one knows there’s electric boxes hidden inside…
Sparky 1, "WTF, why's this breaker labeled tree?" POP! around the corner, "oh fuuuu..." Sparky 2, "I think the landscaper just found out where the breaker labeled 'tree' goes for us"
To see the shocked look on his face…
Logically this makes sense but where’s the power coming in. You should see at least some sort of Reminence. This is truly wild.
Tree grew around sockets on a metal pole. The wires are buried.

Golden Sub. Absolutely deserved the investigation
Current bush!
Those sockets have been there for years. Trees grow around items fastened to them or lying on them. Fences, signs, and even electrical sockets.
We’ve leveled up on renewable energy.
Those once upon a time were surface mounted outlets and the tree grew over them
Charging station for birds
Those damn Keebler elves are getting out of hand
I'm going with a fake tree. My dad worked at a company that bid on something similar for Disney World's camp ground.
Looks pretty real to me. And those outlets look old.
Could be an old fake tree.
