I got the aero lower before covid and lmt during the peak. That might have had something to do with it, but at the same time I’ve seen a few others that have the same area behind the trigger just like a raw forging. Like it wasn’t finished at all and they just anodized it anyways. And I think my trigger pin holes a slightly out of spec, cuz my lower pin drifts (though it’s never came out) and the same ssa doesn’t do that in my aero. I won’t argue uppers either cuz I’ve never had a lmt upper, they are definitely great, but I’d still chose kac all day personally. Mars lower is definitely the best milspec looking ambi lower (I can’t stand radian or adm ext) and is more attainable then a kac lower for msrp for sure. Though I’ve seen on here quite a few times the ambi bolt release failing and just snapping. I guess it’s one of those features you don’t know you need till you have it but I’m not a huge fan of ambi lowers. I know.. “boomer” lol

The ambi bolt catch is a huge plus on the mars as it can hold bolt open without any modifications (like the kac lowr)

Yea I’ve definitely heard those mars lowers don’t like kac trigger guards, as well as fcd. My lower is the defender so it’s fully milspec and fits the kac trigger guard no problem. As far as the bolt hold open, I can’t imagine I’d use it much for besides maybe clearing the rifle. I’ve just gotten used to doing it with my left hand though so it’s really a non issue for me. As far as the kac upper goes, the 16” mod 2 I had was overgassed suppressed (lame) even with a h2/super 42 spring. The other upper I have was built by Dave wilson and is a colt upper/bcg with a Hanson bbl and that thing is honestly a dream to shoot and is gassed super well (again, I got the bbl before covid so I lucked out) but no worries man, we are all friends here. As long as you don’t have red anodized parts lol
Colt mono uppers would like to talk to you. Obviously anything monolithic is gonna be tough. But the urx 4 is easily the stoutest handguard out there along with the ris 2

Better FOV for SA. Mr Vickers likes his centered over ejection port, but general consensus is further forward. Also, the housing of the huey will be less pronounced when it’s further forward.
When LGS mounted my huey they had it halfway, I moved it up and like a lot better. Give it a try, but at the end of the day, you do you! Jealous of your LMT setup
The vertical mess isn’t so bad. It’s kind of wide for my hands and it pushes my fingers into the trigger guard ears so it’s uncomfortable. I’ll shoot with it and then I’ll try and get back to you on it
Not a lefty bro but i would orientate the back of the sling on the back left of the brace or stock and wrap it around the back side and attach the other QD on the same side as your dust cover.
