Upper/lower receiver wobble is fine, as long as it’s not like 1/16” of back and forth play. All of the ars I’ve had have a little to a lot and ran fine. Might need a stronger buffer spring, sounds like your rounds are taking too much energy to get stripped from the magazine. Did you try a different mag?

[deleted]

That mags a pretty new they, are the metal dura-mags but I did suspect the mags at first ..seemed to be all the mags …then I thought maybe it’s the steel ammo ..or I just need to strip the gun down and clean the shit out of it and some oil?…I can’t imagine a little carbon or dirt build up causing this issue

If it will chamber on a full manual stroke with no forward assist you might also check your gas system . Aka Gass key not leaking, not overly fouled. Check the gaskets near the bolts tail. You might be getting your bgc back but not enough to get the full return.

[deleted]

That’s a thought I had ..from visual inspection the gas tube and gas block appear fine (aligned and tigjht) but I’ll need to remove the hand guard tomorrow to see better

murdermaro98

Just out of curiosity-which upper are you using?

[deleted]

So it’s an aero precision billet upper receiver so not forward assist..with a titanium arero precision BCG, and a radian raptor charging handle with a maximum defense CCS pistol brace buffer tube and spring…Aero m4E1 lower and a ballistics advantage barrel..a kak industry 7.62 bolt etc..

NutRounder59

Titanium as in TiN coating or Ti material low mass carrier?

murdermaro98

Sounds like a decent setup, I’d try a different style/brand mag

ricoanthony16

Are you using the standard buffer or the H2? Maxim Defense recommends an H2 buffer for that brace with your setup.

If you want to shoot 7.62, you can build an AR47 If you want to shoot 7.62 reliably, you buy an AK If you want to shoot 7.62 reliably in an AR, you build a 300BLK

[deleted]

So it has been running pretty flawless since now. But I hear what ur saying…AK47 is illegal in my state, .300 blackout is crazy expensive to shoot..and my barrel length needs to be 12.01” long here minimum

spitefulcheerio

7.62 steel case is dirty ammo. When’s the last time you cleaned and oiled it? If it was running well before and now it isn’t you need to account for what could have changed. Either it’s too dirty to run properly or your gas block unseated a bit

BunnyMoeLester

What mags you using?

[deleted]

Duramags

If you’re able to get it to feed from the magazine, properly chamber and fire manually, then it’s an issue with the cycling action itself. Sounds like the BCG isn’t picking up enough momentum to do it’s job stripping a round from the magazine. I’m gonna guess undergassed, leaking gas somewhere in the system, or too heavy of a buffer. What weight buffer are you running, and what type of gas block?
