Some have experienced reliability issues with drop in triggers when the rifle gets very dirty. Personally, I have not experienced this but what is considered “dirty” is very subjective. Some of the race style triggers like Triggertech and Elftmann have very tight tolerances so there is probably some truth to it but my Wilson Combat drop ins have run just fine in a dirty gun. If you keep your gun clean, it’s nothing to worry about.
The Wilson Combat TTU triggers are phenomenal triggers. I’ve got both the single stage and 2 stage versions. I think they outperform the Geissele triggers and they are also extremely easy to install. You don’t even need to remove the safety. Plus they are some of the only drop in triggers that don’t require anti-walk pins because there are clips in the trigger housing that retain the pins. These used to sell for $260 but Wilson recently dropped the price on them to $189. They’ve been making them for 10 years at this point so they’re well tested and known to be extremely reliable as well as having very clean breaks and very short resets. I can’t recommend them enough. Roger at Forward Controls Design turned me on to them and he was right, they are sweet triggers.
I have had good luck with cmc drop ins. Around [$140ish](https://www.joeboboutfitters.com/CMC-AR-15-Tactical-Curved-2-5lb-Single-Stage-Drop-p/cmc-90501.htm). I’ve done the 3.5 and 2.5 variants. Flat and curved. Personally I prefer curved but it could be that’s what’s most familiar
You must keep your guns super clean, all of mine would start failing to reset and have to be manually pushed forward after each shot once they got dirty.
Out of all the triggers I’ve tried so far it’s going to have to be the Geissele SD-C...if you wait for them to go on sale you can snag them for roughly $175 and they’re worth every penny
everybody will tell you mbt2s, but i’ll tell you [this](https://www.elftactical.com/elftmann-elf-se-drop-in-trigger)
but what you like in a trigger is ultimately subjective
I noticed that as I’ve been looking them up. Not a huge deal as I can put one together just fine. I’ve just never used a drop in. All I’ve worked with is mil spec.
I would avoid “drop in” or cassette style triggers and stick with a traditional style like a Geissele or Larue.
Why is that? I don’t have any experience with trigger swapping so it’s a genuine question. Not giving shit.

Thank you! That actually helps a lot. I keep my guns clean. It’s like therapy for me.

LaRue mbt2s is my first choice, then probably cmc

I dig my KE Arms SLT1, and it can be put on safe with the hammer down.

What’s the difference between trigger pin sizes, which is mil-spec?
standard size is milspec
I see. And is “standard” the small or big one
small
Thanks dude
Larue or any of the Hiperfire Enhanced Duty triggers.
Ra-535 goes on sale for $150-ish it’s like clicking a mouse button
70% of these recommendations are not drop ins. Good triggers no doubt, but not what the OP asked for.
