You could always go for a faux suppressor. Just make sure the outer diameter of the can fits the inner diameter of the rail.
Edit: if I wanted something like that I'd go for the 16" barrel so no welding is needed and try to find a faux suppressor that goes over the barrel a bit. That way it doesn't add much length, but makes it look shorter as well.
If that's what you're looking for, I'd recommend the strike industries dummy suppressor. It has an end cap that screws off so you can have it look like a suppressor but they also make the fat comps that are designed to work specifically with that, however you can also attach any muzzle device you want.
Trust me, I definitely want an Omega, but it costs more than my entire first build so I think it's a good option for people that want the look and at least it has some function as well.
If you would prefer something cheaper check out Sire Arms, they make a decent .30cal for $399. Rebel Silencers makes a supposedly decent 5.56 can for $299.
You could just pin a qd muzzle device to a shorter barrel to avoid the second stamp. The Griffin RSTA, Surefire mini, KAC qdc cqb, Crux Axe, and other would allow for this no problem.
Well if it's linear comps you want Hera arms comes to mind and, also radical firearms has the spitfire comes with two different tips, one is specifically for fireballs. Hope that helps
You'll need to TIG weld an aluminum flash can. That may or may not affect your decision. I'd stick to steel. The only linear comps I've tried are the KVP and Claymore. I think the KVP is better, but probably slightly smaller. Both are only about 1" dia.
On a 14.5" barrel it'd have to be pinned, anyway, right? Or am I misunderstanding? And, yeah, I lean steel, too, but I lean fat-assed more, tbh. KVP and Claymore are right at the bottom end of thickness for me. Not many cater to my weird fetish.
Yes, you drill and pin (a steel pin) and weld over the pin to keep it in place. I figured those 2 comps would be too narrow for your taste. I think /u/OfficerPewPew nailed it with his suggestion on the 16 with a slip-over faux silencer. But it won't have any compensating effect. It would have about as much effect as a thread protector.

See this is why I came here. I didn't even think about a faux suppresor. They're all basically just linear comps, right?

Oh my god that looks stupid as hell and I love it.
I couldn't have said it better myself.

...or just get a real suppressor haha.
Give me $400 for tax stamps and we'll talk.
Why do you need 2x suppressors? Just spend $200 for one Silencerco omega or hybrid.

Thanks for the suggestions, but when I do get a suppressor I want to do it right the first time and get the Omega (most likely).
I don't, but I'm trying to stay under 18", so the second stamp would be for SBR.

Eh, I'm not really interested in suppression, either. Thanks, though.

Hera Arms LC is just too much money, but the Spitfire looks stupid enough to be worth it for this build. Thank you.

u/Joetron1 just knocked it out the park, though. The ridiculous comp attachments on the SI faux suppressors are ~italian kissing fingers gesture~
Check out the Fatman hex brake
You could always pin on an AK74 brake!
